Official: More in US convinced of climate change

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) -- Increasingly common experiences with extreme climate-related events such as the Colorado wildfires, a record warm spring and preseason hurricanes have convinced many Americans climate change is a reality, the head of a U.S. scientific agency said Friday.

Many Americans had previously seen climate change as a "nebulous concept" removed from them in time and geography, said National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration chief Jane Lubchenco.

I don’t have a problem with being convinced of Climate Change, my problem is what they blame it on ,and that there isn’t anything we can do about it.

This is all true. There, Forty thousand years ago...Caveman Joe warned everyone about the continued use of wood to burn fires, and six guys grew to believe in Joe’s words. Later that winter....all six perished as they sat in cold caves and were unable to bring themselves to the moment of survival. Caveman Joe, sadly....had disappeared from the camp, and moved onto another cave, where in the spring...he preached of more global warming to a new and still living group of cavemen.

More Bull Obama from the Obamaloon administration.

Best refutation yet from a real Nobel Science (Physics, 1973) winner - as opposed to the jokes we’ve recently been getting from Norway. These remarks occured only recently.

“...As he took the stage for his turn, Gieavar’s (sic) immediate remark was, “I am happy I’m allowed to speak for myself.” He derided the Nobel committees for awarding Al Gore and R.K. Pachauri a peace prize, and called agreement with the evidence of climate change a “religion.” In contrast to Crutzen and Molina, Gieavar (sic) found the measurement of the global average temperature rise of 0.8 degrees over 150 years remarkably unlikely to be accurate, because of the difficulties with precision for such measurements—and small enough not to matter in any case: “What does it mean that the temperature has gone up 0.8 degrees? Probably nothing.” He disagreed that carbon dioxide was involved and showed several charts that asserted, among other things, that climate had even cooled. “I pick and choose when I give this talk just the way the previous speaker picked and chose when he gave his talk,” he added. He finished with a pronouncement: “Is climate change pseudoscience? If I’m going to answer the question, the answer is: absolutely.”

This, folks, is what real experts think. Not what silly clowns in the Obamadork administration pretend to think.

Oh, I AM SURE there is “Climate Change”....just like the little house we have sits over 500 feet from the Pacific Beach on SAND....and was likely at one time in the OCEAN...over time EVERYTHING CHANGES.

I guess it wasn’t hot back when the old records were being set and it was basically just a degree or two less than this outbreak. If you would have asked them last summer, they would have just shrugged their shoulders. Ask them what the temperatures have been running on Easter Island, or the Falklands, or any other place not surrounded with concrete?

As if the fact that more people believe a lie somehow makes that lie true.

Colorado wildfires = drought and high winds. Preseason hurricanes = ? I guess I must have missed those except for the rain storm that hit Florida. You could hardly call that a hurricane unless you were getting your source from the dopes at the Weather Channel where hype is their middle name.

Most fail to make a distinction concerning climate change - sure it may be getting hotter, but there is no proof the cause is man’s activities. The probability that it is part of a natural cycle is much greater.

Knowing all too well the failings of the US public education (and indoctrination) system, I don't doubt “many” are now convinced.

Bingo. The climate has changed over the millions of years the Earth has been around. What caused it then? Not SUV’s...

Doesn’t anybody think it’s fishy that just as Obama is trying to convince us that really, really slow-building, gradual man-made climate change caused by man’s fuel use (which has been slowed down by some carbon taxing).... all of a sudden we’ve got about 3 years in a row where the weather is extremely crazy?

Remember how Obama claimed that it would be seen that when he was elected the oceans began to recede? I wonder if we checked when the earth got suddenly hellaciously hot, we’ll see that it coincides with when Obama was elected and felt the need to very quickly convince us that slow, gradual climate change had been happening all along...

Reminds me of the cartoon where the pastor carries into the pulpit his sermon entitled “The Reality of Hell” right after turning the thermostat up to about 120 degrees.

I wonder if the temperature data on the last 5 years would suggest that somebody turned on the microwaves...

I read the article. This is just the anecdotal musing of one NOAA official. Wasn’t based on any poll data. Just her gut feeling, apparently.

I spent the summer of 1988 in Ohio, where I believe the thermometer touched 100 every day from mid-June until sometime in August. Using this moron’s logic it should be 138 degrees out there today.

Extreme high, extreme low, extreme earthquakes. It's all the same. Chicken little screaming that the sky is falling because of Western industrialization.

And the solution isn't to get the third world onto NEW technologies. Nope, it's THEIR TURN to use THEIR SHARE of oil and coal. The West must atone for the sin of success by paying taxes to Marxist dictatorships that are lagging behind.
