Well, it’s possible, but you’ll have to judge for yourself if it’s reasonable or not.

I don't care, all our computers are Apple

You just might want to check anyway. Apples are NOT immune to the dns changer. Just do a search for 'dns changer apple' and you'll find a number of articles.

Here's one for a start.

Don't think. You obviously have zero grasp of the mechanics involved here. This is nothing of the sort.

Okay - explain with your "superior grasp" why the government cannot wrest control of our access to the Internet away from us. If some podunk dictator can control.censor his country's access, our "leaders" can manage it with us. There might be some chinks in the wall, but most do not have knowledge/skills to leverage them.

That is my question, a little “tracking” bot so they can come “discuss” various opinions we have with us?

So is it unreasonable to assume that if I am infected, and the FBI has been handling my domain name resolution since November, that they could have been logging every website I’ve visited in that time?

Algorithm

In the OSF-specified algorithm for generating new (V1) GUIDs, the user's network card MAC address is used as a base for the last group of GUID digits, which means, for example, that a document can be tracked back to the computer that created it.

That is a valid concern.

And the unfortunate reality is that the "podunk dictator" is actively facilitated in their censorship by companies like...

"[snip] U.S.-based Cisco Systems and Canadian-based Nortel Networks are working closely with the People's Armed Police developing oppressive and intrusive computer systems to monitor, track and prosecute illegal Internet web browsers.

Nortel has contracts with Datang Telecom, a Chinese firm that works closely with the Chinese Ministry of State Security. Nortel has provided its "Personal Internet" suite to the MSS, allowing authorities to monitor and track nearly half of China's individual Internet users.

Nortel is currently working with the communist authorities in Shanghai to build a "Shasta 5000" firewall...."

What will be really interesting to watch is the hysteria soon to be generated when folks figure out what the TPM chip on their motherboard is doing... after Windows 8 turns it on.

Can you be trusted to be part of the Trusted Platform?  Who gets to decide?  I hope it's some governing body that's required to read, and constrain the scope of its purview within, the original specification for the system:

"TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS, [American] governments are instituted among men"

Good response - I think the self-styled techno-geek that didn’t think our gubmint could shut us off the internet has no sense of the corporations and government agencies that actually control/maintain the infrastructure.

No one is saying that the government couldn’t shut down the internet. What I am saying is that shutting down these illegitimate name servers is not that attempt.

Now you're saying that - your original belittled a poster for opining trhe government could do it and you mentioned nothing to substantiate the put down. That said, the name servers aren't the same thing, but will seem so to anyone now pointed at them.
