You're the clown "bro". There are a great many of us who are tired subsidizing this federal socialist state. I pay this freakin government $60K a year in federal income taxes, and the bastards still get $3T more in debt.
Keep up the go government mantra "bro". The punk POTUS and his entitlement minions in this country appreciate it. I for one wholeheartedly support secession.
Your scale has the Ol butcher’s thumb on it. Don’t think 500 MILLION died in the War of Northern Aggression or we’d all be gone.
I also don't think the petroleum companies would be lacking for physical security, because the people there would protect them as if those companies are their own family. It would also add more strain on the FEDgov once shipments of oil from those companies stop going around the country, because every other state would be pressuring the government to stop going after TX, if they go after them in any way. The one could easily lead the other 49, albeit in a crude (no pun intended) manner.
I'm all for it.
If you guys succeed, will you accept refugees from the Peoples Democratic Socialist Republic of Illinois?

Hell yeah. Git yo a** down here.
Excuse me?
Granted. I don’t think a lot of the yahoos realize just how much of the state is cosmopolitan, or just how big the slice of the population pie resides in the metro areas of a handful of Texas cities. Secession is never going to happen, but I resent the idea none-the-less.
Just Damn!!!
Personally I doubt your numbers. I suspect you couldn't get 20% of Texans to actually vote for secession, as opposed to venting about it out of frustration.
However, let's take your numbers as accurate.
How do you run a government of the people, by the people and for the people when 40% of those people are adamantly opposed to your government?
They presumably would refuse to respect its legitimacy. To what lengths would your secessionist government go to enforce its authority? At what point does this turn into suppression of dissent?
IOW, how can you maintain a free system of government when a very large minority are violently opposed to it? I contend it can't be done. You can run a dictatorship or a monarchy/tyranny on such a basis, but not a civil society or republic.
YMMV
I think Texas is already part of Mexico again.

LOL.... You ain’t right cripplecreek. You just ain’t right!
I'm confused but could Hawaii, Asia secede? Oh, silly me, the islands would obviously have to remain part of Asia.
There ya go. Why do we have to be the ones to leave?!? Let them leave or rot in jail.
“Kelly’s Heroes”! Great flick!
People are paid thousands of dollars to live in Alaska.
As if American courts aren't giving Texas ranches to illegals and just how much soon to be bogus currency is D.C. printing these days.
I agree with you. I sometimes think there ae some who do not take into consideration the cities of Dallas, Houston and San Antonio...and Austin. We would never get the votes to secede. You make an excellent point.
Just because fedgov is doing it doesn’t mean that some guy in his mom’s basement setting up a website and radio program doing it is any better.
Perry is probably the most “Texas Rights” Governor we have had. Would you prefer Gov. White or Gov. KayBailey or let me guess Gov. Debra?
What does the number of wealthy people in Texas look like compared to, say, New York, or anywhere in New England (a lot of old money). If you have a lot of people that don’t have a job that enables them to retire well before retirement age, then they’re going to get more back under federal law. Whereas with families in New England, who have linage that goes back to Revolutionary times, have been growing their trust funds since those times.
We have always been at war with Eastasia...
That is a myth. Any flag can be flown at equal height as the US flag. The US flag simply has to be in the position of honor, it's own right. (on US soil)
I know it because Perry said it. Repeatedly after he realized some had actually taken him seriously.
I do believe that civil disobedience and State disobedience is part of the formula for change.
The other part that I see as part of the solution is, as Yashcheritsiy would say, separate means of information dissemination.
Another part that I think is critical is a political home for full conservatives, meaning those who are both fiscally and socially conservative.
Another part is a sincere connection to Christianity and to the churches of Christianity from all denomination. Much of America’s problem is spiritual, and without a Great Awakening, there will be no recovery.
The world will not end again with a flood. The rainbow is God’s promise of that. It will instead end with fire.
A precursor to that final fire is this judgment:
“7 The first angel sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled down upon the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green grass was burned up.”
Anything that reminds us of Fire and a Burned Up Earth should push us to include God in any plans for renewal. If this will not be a Christian nation, then it will not be any kind of free nation at all.
I’ll remain kind with “you know nothing of what you speak”.
How about Texas being able to defend itself with 80 million people? Because that’s around how many (armed) Americans would end up living there.
In Wyoming’s case, maybe its because a great percentage of her oil, gas and coal are on Fed land, not to mention Yellow Stone would come under Federal expenditure within the State?
Alaska could never secede without the assistance of a foreign power. The continental U.S. could cripple a secessionist Alaska by embargo alone.
Self sufficient? Really? How much dairy is made in Alaska? What medicines are produced in Alaska? What dry goods are made in Alaska? What industrial products are made in Alaska? Vegetables, wheat, rice, corn, sugar? The average Alaskan would subsist on the eskimo diet for all of a week before begging to be let back into the union.
I have visited family in Alaska many times when I still had family there, and Alaskans are extremely dependent on the daily influx of cargo planes which explains in part the extremely high cost of living.
Dunno, ask Obama...
oh dear...I know this...I should have used /sarc. Sorry for the confusion.
LOL.... You aint right cripplecreek. You just aint right!
Oh, he's right...
In fact, ya got Illegals are dropping about 1000 anchor babies per month at Parkland Hospital in Dallas..It's the #1 hospital in the country, for illegal alien births.

Remember what Ben Franklin said, "Those who would trade liberty for security deserve neither."
That’s the dirty secret we never mention in conservative circles. Although your source is different than mine, and more than a decade more current, so thank you for that.
We resent Arizona resenting our ideas.
Not many conservatives are violently opposed to the American government. We’re opposed to the present administration.
Big difference.
You need to learn more Texan, “Oh, I was just jokin” don’t make it admission of a mistake. Usually only means “what I said ain’t worth our tusslin over”.
I think the fact that’s it 48th in GDP probably has more to do with it. Despite being comparable in size to Colorado, Wyoming barely outproduces tiny Vermont.
Sherman Logan posted more current information than I have, and although I believe it’s calculated differently (Looks like fed expenditures for fed lands within a state aren’t counted on his) it is probably more accurate for our purposes.
Only here for 3 months. My home is in Texas. Nice try at being snide though.
“How about Texas being able to defend itself with 80 million people? Because thats around how many (armed) Americans would end up living there.”
They’ll need to bring their own water lol.
Why would Texas want to secede?
If a few of the states or even part of a single state, infected with incurable worthless communists, do not want to be loyal to the Republic and uphold the Constitution, they should be the ones to go, not us.
They can take all their commie crap right along with them.
Oh, BTW, since they are all against a powerful military, all military assets inside a secession zone will be physically reclaimed by the loyal capitalist States. Same thing with any national heritage artifact or resources.
Any capitalist citizens loyal to the Republic should be assisted in exiting the session zones.
Any attempt to confiscate or tax their possessions will be countered by force from the Republic.
Same with private sector businesses.
Then, A.M.F.
.
I am a third generation Texan. My grandson...fifth generation Texan. Husband also third generation Texan....Ever heard...Don’t ever corner anything meaner ‘en you?????
Actually Texas could separate from the union until the civil war when that promise was legislated away.
You win the internets today!
“Contrary to popular opinion, none of them have any language that would allow for secession.”
So? Who cares? We have immigration laws and gun running laws and the Feds don’t follow these either.
If Texas goes, I’m moving to Texas.
“Dont you think we are all on the list, just for being on FR to begin with?”
Pretty much.
WY being 48th in GDP probably has a lot to do with its being 50th in population.
Vermont is 49th, with about 60k more people than WY.
YOU BETCHA!
Yep. Out of staters especially don’t realize that the Texas population is more than 4/5 urban. Hell, I even have a friend in East Texas recently call me out when I said that 6 million people life in the metroplex, so it’s not just out of staters. Turns out I was wrong, 2012 is projected to be much closer to 7 million.
