Brad Pitt's Mother Slams Obama, Gay Marriage

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Brad Pitt has long been an advocate for gay rights (initially vowing to hold off on marrying longtime love Angelina Jolie until gay marriage became legal nationwide), but his mother, Jane Pitt, apparently takes a different stance on the issue.

In a letter penned for her local newspaper, Jane urged Christian voters not to be put off by candidate Mitt Romney’s Mormon faith, as he still maintains conservative views in line with Christian beliefs despite his differing religion — including his posture on gay marriage and abortion.

“I think any Christian should spend much time in prayer before refusing to vote for a family man with high morals, business experience, who is against abortion, and shares Christian conviction concerning homosexuality just because he is a Mormon,” she wrote in the opinion piece for The Springfield News-Leader this week.

Jane added that “any Christian who does not vote or writes in a name is casting a vote for Romney’s opponent, Barack Hussein Obama — a man who sat in Jeremiah Wright’s church for years, did not hold a public ceremony to mark the National Day of Prayer, and is a liberal who supports the killing of unborn babies and same-sex marriage.”

While the letter may seem harsh to some, Brad has previously said his mother means no harm.

“She’s very, very loving — very open, genuine, and it’s hilarious because she always gets painted in the tabloids as a she-devil,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview back in January. “There’s not an ounce of malice in her.

“She wants everyone to be happy,” the actor noted.

When it comes to Marxism vs statism there is no “better.” They’re two sides of the same coin and lead to the same result: Government control, loss of economic freedom. Tyranny. Totalitrarianism.

Look up Reagan on compulsory health insurance, statism, socialism, totalitarianism, etc, vs freedom.

How soon they forget.

Couple in Romney’s dismal liberal progressive record on abortionism, homosexualism, gun-control, liberal judges, advocating for TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending, etc, and there’s really very little difference between them and definitely no “better” there.

They are both tyrannical statists.

Neither am I and the guilt trips that the Rommney bots try to put on me fall on deaf ears.

As far as I am concerned, the Elite Republicans, will full knowledge of how easy it be to defeat obama with a Conservative candidate, refused to do so, meaning nominate a Conservative candidate.Instead, knowing full well that Romney stood no chance of defeating obama regardless of how vurnable he would be, ordained him to be the standard bearer of the Republican Party. This tells me: 1. The Elite Republicans would rather lose the election than win with a Conservative. 2.They would prefer an obama win over a Conservative win.

In 2008 against my better judgement and saying that I wasn't voting for him after he picked Palin, on the last day of early voting I voted for him. And regretted it ever since. Later I made a vow to myself that I would never vote against anyone again. If the Republicans cannot nominate someone to vote for, so be it.

“They are both tyrannical statists.”

Amen to that. I might add, that I find Romney to be even scarier than Obama in many ways. Mr. Obama is an open evil that most persons of even moderate conservative views can clearly see - that which is recognized is easier to oppose. However, Romney is truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing and his evil is not so clearly seen, even by persons that should. That really scares me.

I really can understand raw fear many have of 4 more years of Obama, and thus their choice to take a lesser (as they perceive it) evil in Romney. So, I don’t get upset with an ABO position per se. However, when they go so far as to suggest that anyone who doesn’t agree to their ABO strategy is “stupid”, “supporting Obama”, etc. then I get mad.

Been at this 35 years Jim and I still have only 1 choice in this election . You forget the public is being bought with every election in your list there .

Yup. And as long as the public continues voting in statists, we’re going to continue the downhill slide into socialism, tyranny, totalitarianism.

The GOP should know better.

FReepers should definitely know better. We are the resistance!!

Hell no, I’m not voting for the Marxist. Or the Marxist-lite. I’ll be voting for a genuine pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense, traditional conservative with a pro-life, pro-family, pro-small government, pro-defense traditional conservative RECORD with very few blemishes!!!! And that leaves the abortionist/homosexualist statist Myth Romney the hell OUT!!

The Democrat party left me and Ronnie behind and looks like the GOP is about to do the same.

“Where is the Conservative ticket this time around?”

That is the WHOLE point, but NOT the way you are spinning it.

We don’t have a “conservative” choice this time because Romney, backed by the GOPe, BOUGHT the election. Voting for Romney, who you admit is flawed, is just allowing the GOPe to continue to DOMINATE you and me. IF you want to be dictated to by “party elites” instead of getting a real conservative to “vote for” instead of merely “voting against” Obama. You are going to have to take a stand against the GOPe and tell them emphatically NO!

I have been able to vote since 1972, but didn’t vote in that election because I was undergoing initial military training at the time. I first voted in 1976 upon completing 4 years of Active military service. In that election, and every one until this time, I have ALWAYS voted for the GOP nominee. Even though some have been poor choices. However, Romney is just too much for me to stomach anymore. I cannot vote for him. To do so is to surrender FOREVER any chance of ever getting a conservative (not a “perfect” one) nominated again. I cannot nor will not try to pick between evil (Obama) and evil (Romney)...both are too flawed, both are BAD for the country.

The real CHOICE is to support neither. And let the GOPe know why! I am sick of my values not even remotely being represented by the GOP that I have backed for so many years. I am tired of being taken for granted. No more!

Jim Robinson speaks eloquently of “revolution”, and I think he is right. Of course, I have other considerations than Jim (i.e. I won’t support a devout Mormon for POTUS). It also scares me that so many on the “right” are giving a cultist a pass....only the left going after him on that (of course they are hypocrits - they really don’t care about religious things).

“Ben Bolt” you DO have another choice...it is stop being a dumb sheep that follows a bad shepard in the form of the GOPe. Either we conservatives get control of the GOP, or it is time, to start building something new....as hard as that might be. However, right now I’m fighting for control of the GOP.

Whatever, I will not critisize your ABO stance, I understand it, but I will fight you when you denigrate those of us that stand up to tyrants...especially the GOPe. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

I am convinced to could well be the case. President Reagan got that right. I think he would be upset with what is called the GOP today.

Please do us all a favor and go hide in your bomb shelter and don’t come back out. If you don’t have anything intelligent to add to the conservative, except taunts...you are just being annoying.

I would tell you to kiss by backside, but I don’t want to risk being infected with whatever you are diseased with - some disease induced dementia. I think the ABO syndrome is some form of Mad Cow Disease.

Jim, you are certainly a nicer person than myself. I would have pulled to plug on these individuals some time ago. Not because they disagree, but the manner in which they do so.

I would certainly give them a “time out” as you have done to me in previous occassions. When “they cannot play well with the other children” then it is time for them to stand in the corner - muzzled. I know it has made me be more circumspect in how and what I write.

Ben Bolt will now be intollerable on the forum. He thinks he can insult with impunity now.

The GOP is a country club . Remember Florida in 2k ? Been knowing that since I got emails for being a trouble maker . If I had my way I’d start a 3rd party and suck the life out of the GOP and build on that .
