Tens of thousands of patients with terminal illnesses are placed on a “death pathway” to help end their lives every year. However, in a letter to The Daily Telegraph, six doctors warn that hospitals may be using the controversial scheme to reduce strain on hospital resources. Supporters of the Liverpool Care Pathway, which allows medical staff to withhold fluid and drugs in a patient’s final days, claim it is the kindest way of letting them slip away. my mother lives there and has been refused knee surgery, she Doc had to appeal to a 3 board panel in London, hundreds of miles away.

After two years of messing about she gets her surgery but then tells me that she has to call the day before.
I ask why and she tells me that she has to find out if they have a spare bed.

She is 82 and this crap is coming to America and we have the dopes who ave no clue what Govt health care is about and we have dopes in America who listen to their dear leader and think what he states is the truth and thinks things like health care is free but ignore the tax code in the UK

I know exactly how you feel...I’m originally from canada.

It’s worse back there. Nowadays, they wheel you before surgery in the middle of the hallway and leave you there and that’s what happened to my aunt in Saskatchewan. PLUS, the “panel” from the province deemed her too expensive to operate on, but due to the federal govt’s promise of treatment she suffered in pain for months.

We literally flew her to the States for treatment. What’s worse? the idiotic canadian govt billed her for going to America. I could not believe to this day the gall of these bastards. Now this is coming to America. i escaped canada socialism now I have to pay the price here. The irony.

Twenty days after having made my first call to a surgeon's office to arrange a consultation I,an ordinary...anything-but-rich...anything-but powerful (or "connected") American,was in the recovery room of a major Boston hospital sporting a new piece of titanium where my hip once was.

Those days will continue forever for the "beautiful" people of this nation.....

I used to correspond with a woman there who got denied treatment. She went full throttle investigating and agitating. However, when it came down to it she said the SYSTEM was great until the Tories got in power and that it was all the fault of this insurance company called APTOS. Well the thing says “final days” which means they are going to die anyway. This has nothing to do with needing a heart transplant or something. This means that you die naturally a few hours or days before dying with medication. This does not seem as cruel as some make it out to be.
