Obama Parade Parody Causes Controversy

HUNTSVILLE, Utah — A parade entry portraying President Barack Obama and using the term “Obamanation” has made some angry, and others upset at the negative attention. It happened in the city’s annual Fourth of July parade. The float showed a person dressed as President Obama with one sign that read “Huntsville Welcomes Obama’s Farewell Tour?” On the back, another sign said, “Ask about our assault gun plan. Call Eric Holder.”

On one side of the issue, people are saying the float was disrespectful and had no place in a patriotic parade. The other side says it was all in good fun.

Huntsville Mayor Jim Truett and City Council member Laurie Allen say the entry doesn’t reflect the views of the city. They say it was entered at the last minute, not through usual protocol and they would not have approved it if they had seen it.

“I don’t think we would have allowed it, in fact I know we wouldn’t,” said Allen. “We just don’t want that. It’s a family-oriented celebration.”

Weber County Sheriff Lt. Mark Lowther told Fox 13 News his department contacted the Secret Service after some residents expressed concern the float was a threat to the President.

“We don’t decide what’s appropriate. That’s up to the town, the parade organizers and the people who design the float,” said Chief Deputy Klint Anderson, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, in a statement.

The only group in America that you can mock, slander and disrespect and get away with it are White, Anglo-Saxon Christians.

Where is the line drawn between Freedom of Speech and Censorship? I’m thinking: If it benefits the Libs, it’s Freedom of Speech. If it’s anti-Liberals and anti-Democrats, then it must be censored.

“after some residents expressed concern the float was a threat to the President.”

Give me a break.

Is nancy-pants *that* freaking fragile?

It’s a *parade float* for cryin’ out loud.

The only “threat” there was the telling of truth.

Pitiful.

Political speech is as American as a 4th of July parade.

Hmmm... they forgot to mention how many *approved* of the float and *cheered* for it!

On these matters I’m all for fairness, as long as it’s delivered with intellectual honesty. If it’s out of bounds to mock Obama, that’s fine, as long as it IS and WAS also out of bounds to mock George Bush or Mitt Romney.

On the other hand, if one thought it was “cool” to poke a public finger in Bush’s eye, then one should acknowledge that it might also be OK to take a whack at Barky in a city parade.

It’s the double standard in outrage as well as in *reporting* outrage that makes me a little crazy.

Prayer for our Nation ~ Psalm 144

11 Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners,
Whose mouth speaks lying words,
And whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood—
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth;
That our daughters may be as pillars,
Sculptured in palace style;
13 That our barns may be full,
Supplying all kinds of produce;
That our sheep may bring forth thousands
And ten thousands in our fields;
14 That our oxen may be well laden;
That there be no breaking in or going out;
That there be no outcry in our streets.
15 Happy are the people who are in such a state;
Happy are the people whose God is the LORD!

May it be thus, O Lord, may it be thus, in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, Amen ...

Of course not!

It’s just a thug tactic; calling down the SS wherever possible is a ‘rat staple.

The ‘rats love them some government thugs. They use ‘em without shame, wherever possible. (EPA, DOJ, Labor, SS, “swatting”, SEC, OSHA, &etc &etc).

The false demi-god Obama and his worshippers are displeased.

So what are they going to do about it?

Kill everyone who mocks their ideology?

A double standard well documented. As usual, Bush was fair game during such events, and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves while at it. Just do an Internet image search for “Bush parade.” Prepare yourself first for some vulgar public displays.

They’d prefer to enslave them, but killing would work too in a pinch.

“Kill everyone who mocks their ideology?”

They won’t do that. It wouldn’t destroy their tax base.

In a more civilized time, there would already have been tar, feathers, and a rail out of town. LONG ago!

I’m not so sure that is America anymore. We’ve killed 40 million babies since 1972. We now have a President who supports same-sex marriage. There is no fear of God in this nation. I don’t know if God can bless America again. Another reason being: Most Christians are too lazy to do 2 Chronicles 7:14.... “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

Sorry, but I’m thinking America is due JUDGMENT; not Blessing.

You are right, they made fun of Bush too but that was ok. Bush laughed at parodies of him. But Barry and his kool-aid followers are so thin skinned, you can see right thru them.

obama’s entire presidency is disrespectful (at the very least!) to the country.

Just one comment—we actually have killed over 60 million babies since 1972 in America.

And some states don’t even report their abortion statistics. And the central authority for abortion statistics is the Alan Guttmacher Institute—a wholly owned arm of Planned Parenthood.

So we already know the 60 million number is off by a fair percentage.

That doesn’t take away from your fine post.

As I study the Old Testament and how God judged His own people, I am amazed that He has withheld His hand from us. We have allowed a horror that is over ten times the magnitude of the Nazi Holocaust.

All in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Couldn't agree more...in fact, I believe we are ALREADY under judgment...
