He needs a real Conservative... not a nickle plated version... and even then it probably will not make a difference. 46 to 45% and it should be a gop landslide... but mitt ensured that it would be a razor thin margin for either man to win. Thanks gop/e and thanks romney!

Then, as with Rubio and Jindal, the issue of NATURAL BORN will be brought up by the constitutionalists.

“Can she go toe to toe against Biden in this area?”
Really? Biden is is the world’s first living brain donor.
The average FReeper could best him in ANY debate on ANY subject.

How does one donate that of which one does not possess?

I still call it Romney/Santorum.
Portman is needed in the Senate where it will be very hard for Mitt to get anything done with the dems in charge.
Very quiet about Rick so that is good.
As far as Natalie, she might be good for one or two things - if you are a flaming liberal just like her.

Romney-Portman ticket, just what the republicans need to ensure the same result as the Dewey-Warren ticket of 1948. Two non confrontational types that pursue the “get along, go along” policy with the democrats. This type we called the “me too” republicans in another era. They will pursue the same policies as the democrats on a slower course but leading to the same result over time. Bankruptcy and negation of individual freedoms will surely follow. It will just be more painfully slow.

“Portman, although solid, has the Bush crony bulls-eye on him; that’s why I go with McDonnell.”
You mean Bob “Drones are great” McDonnell? Lets not and say we did.

I've thought about it carefully and I predict Glove's VP will be: Bob McDonnell Gov. McDonnell would be a good choice, but my gut instinct tells me Romney will go for someone competent, intelligent, and low-key who's flying beneath the radar: Sen. John Thune, SD

Na...it will Tim Pawlenty.Last weekend (I think) Portman and Pawlenty were out together on the stump for Romney. I'm thinking this was a test drive and it will be one of those two. I'm leaning Portman, mainly because it might help with Ohio which is a big get. I like both of these guys.

I still call it Romney/Santorum. I would agree with you, had Rick not been competing in the primary. And I do agree re: Bratalie Portman.

ALLEN WEST !! My No. 1 choice too!! I don't think the risk-averse Romney will pick him, though.

Martinez of NM would be a slam dunk! She'd be a very good choice. My second favorite after Allen West.

Martinez of NM would be a slam dunk! Many of my otherwise conservative friends think that putting two white guys on the R ticket would be the kiss of death. I love our Susana and would hate to lose her, but she might just be what the ticket needs. Nicki Halley could also shake things up a bit. Even Bobby Jindal would be better than some way-too-white middle-aged guy from the midwest...

IIRC, Thune screwed up Bolton’s? permanent appointment to the UN?
He did something sinister. It was discussed here in detail.
