a Romney looks like a Patrick Henry
__________________________________________

Patrick “Give me Liberty or give me daeth” Henry ???

No way kid...

Henry was a brave man prepared to DIE for his cause, his country...

Not Wee Willie Mitty...

Wee Willie is a draft dodger who ran off to Frannce the rich boys’ Canada...

He has never served our country..

he refused to when he could and should have...

Wee Willie is a craven coward and no patriot..

Hes only ever served himself...

Dont insult the honorable memory of Mr Henry...

Both Richard Nixon and Gerald Ford served in the US military...

Dont insult their commitment to service either...

Until that time comes, I will vote for the candidate closest to my beliefs. And that will be Romney this time. Now isn’t the time for spite. When we get rid of BO, then we have a chance to re-build.

May God bless the USA.

Republicans can't kill the Tea Party Movement because they didn't create it. It pre-exists both the Dems and Repubs. Both the GOP-e and the Dems have made a critical error assuming the Movement is an new entity that can be crushed. They're wrong. The Movement is perpetual, fluid and flows from the God-given will to be free. It will exist long after both those parties are long-lost memories. It will outlast even these United States.

It is the same Movement that wrote the Declaration of Independence and the Magna Carta. It is the same Movement that dumped tons of tea into Boston Harbor. It's the same Movement that freed the slaves and overcame Jim Crow. It's irresistible and perpetual.

I don't fear Romney and Rove because men like them have come and gone throughout our history, and they don't have the FIRST CLUE about what motivated those marchers in 2009. They'll win an election or two, pass a tyrannical law or two, but in the end the Movement will prevail, if not at the national level then at the state level. Whether it's the United States of America (USA) or the a new Free Republics of America (FRA), freedom loving Americans will eventually achieve their natural state.

We just need to stay vigilant, true, perpetually pulling at whatever chains are on us. There is no final victory for the Movement, only progress.

I am not a Romneybot by any means. I wanted Michelle Bachmann to win and when she folded I was pushing for Newt Gingrich to win (I voted for him); however, the Messiah is so horrible that I am eating my second crap sandwich in four years (the first was McCain) and voting for Romney.

Obama is a special kind of evil that even the slippery Romney is not. Barack Hussein Obama's success is much like the Intenal Revenue Code: lies upon lies; deceit upon deceit; and falsehood upon falsehood (see the works of Peter Schiff's father, Irwin Schiff).

This affirmative action Hitler must be defeated in his quest for a second term and tragically, we're stuck with Romney to do it.

"C’mon, we’re headed towards a reset. No doubt about it. And I honestly see no benefit in having Mittens running the show when the collapse happens. It will ruin our credibility as a movement since we voted for and supported the Statist under whom it collapsed."

Dude, seriously ...

Anyway, under your remote scenario, who would be the first person the country would immediately turn to in the shadow party? Mittens. See Nixon, 1968...Reagan, 1980...

Something tells me if W ran for guv in Massachusets he’d be just like Romney. Which is why I’m hoping we see a less liberal Romney should he win.

It does strike me as ironic, that the Tea Party members are now supporting RINOmney - who represents what they have risen up against...

But of course, we each get one vote to decide.

As for myself (I vote permanent absentee through Washington state), I’m voting downticket. For President, I’m writing-in for Cthulhu and Nyarlathotep for VP.

You ought to consider voting for Obama. Otherwise Romney might make it.

"Just a general statement regarding some of the hysterics I’ve seen online lately about how the world is gonna end if Obama pulls off re-election."

Year-after-year...Always the same pseudo-subtlety from you...Interesting to hear that Ronald Reagan was hysterical...

Stay abroad...keep your years of trolling claptrap intact...

The Tea party did not Die. They are alive and well. We just have not had a large protest like we did before. But these are people who have jbs and cannot do what they lazy OWS do while living on their parents.
What Jim has stated I could not be in more disagreement. He thinks that by disavowing the two party system he will win some “moral” victory. He will lose his ass!! That is fools gold. We are stuck with the current system and if he wants to go that way, that is his decision. A loosing one, but his.Go vote for Ralf Nader and see where it gets you Jim. And by the way that vote is essentially for Obama.
Congratulations you just screwed yourself.

"Rush and the other talkers let Rove, the Bushes, and the rest of the Republican establishment make Romney the nominee. Had they come out strongly for Bachman early on, we would have a conservative nominee."

How is that supported in fact? Did any of them force Bachmann to hire Ed Rollins -- who turned around and torpedoed her, exactly as he had done to Katherine Harris in '06?

That poor judgment call to hire Rollins is strictly on Michele.

This is well said, but as Hugin so eloquently reminds us, it was the commonality of the TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party with those who are not necessarily conservative otherwise that made the success possible. As I see it, the only entity that can do in the TEA Party is the Tea Party. Keep to those common points of fiscal responsibility, spending constraints, etc. The "social" side of the equation will naturally follow, but as it took many years to get where we are, so it will take many years to get back.

Pretty much where I landed about four years ago.

America's Party

God bless you and yours as you stand stalwartly for the Truth; and for Life, Liberty and the Constitution.

"The fear of man brings a snare,
But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe."

-- Proverbs 29:25

Stay safe.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Half a loaf is better than no loaf at all.

In my lifetime only two true Conservatives have won the nomination, Goldwater and Reagan. Ashbrook, Crane, Kemp, DuPont, Forbes and Thompson are all candidates I supported that would have made better presidents than the ones elected. But they didn't make it. Until we can get a true Conservative nominated the best we can do is put the most Conservative/Libertarian Congress, Governors and Legislators in office.

The battle is never going to be over. It will be fought over and over.

You’re the one with the hopey-changy s*** with Mittens. As for people turning to him, I’ve already seen two polls showing only a minority of Pubs even “strongly” support him. You’re dreaming.

I contribute monthly by credit card for the simple reason that there is more, prompt and relative news posted here than on any other place I have found.

It is also, for some reason, more readable.

Some of the news boards cause my eyes to glaze over.

That said, my politics do not agree at all with Jim’s. I am conservative, more so than any candidate that has appeared in public.

However, what everyone should consider is that our most important duty is to get rid of obummer. After he is gone, we can do our best to find more conservative candidates.

But we must get rid of obummer. That is number one.

It’s Jim’s site and I respect that. I agree with almost all the stances that this site stands for. I know Romney has a liberal past, but he was in Massachusetts for Pete’s sake. He will legislate to the right as pres. And, more than anything in the world, I want obama out. A second - even less accountable - term from obama will destroy this nation.
