Opposition fighters battled Syrian government forces in Damascus into the early hours of Monday in what residents described as the fiercest fighting yet inside the capital.

I’m more convinced that Damascus’ ruin will be more likely caused by A) an Israeli nuke, or B) direct destruction from Jehovah rather than from internal reasons.

Yes, no one will live there again so I think it has to be a nuclear blast to keep people away forever.
They had a nuclear building area and Israel bombed that several years ago. I also recall Syria was working on chemicals and someone screwed up and a bunch of the scientists/people working there died. Maybe they will start nuclear again and nuke themselves into oblivion.
