"You can't fight evil with evil"
July 17, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 07/17/2012 3:30:32 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

As Alan Keyes wrote the other day, you cannot fight evil with evil.

If you haven't read it, do yourself a favor:

A Choice Between Satan and Beelzebub (FR thread)

Brief excerpt:

I grieve deeply as I contemplate the fact that millions of Americans are letting themselves be caught in this diabolical snare. As I tried to point out in 2008, the lesser of evils is still evil. No matter how such an election turns out, people content to choose between Satan and Beelzebub have made clear their willingness to let things go to hell. Moreover, the nature of their choice is so clear to them that they practically boast of the passionate hatred that impels them to it. With this practical boast they become the willing, proud accomplices of the very evil they profess to hate.

I’m morally certain this is why Christ admonished his disciples to make striving for God’s perfection the standard for their actions, rather than their hatred of evil. He thought it better to fail reaching for this standard than succeed by abandoning one’s life to the devil’s dominion. He thought it better to fail in the world’s eyes while commending one’s spirit to God (as he does on the cross) than succeed by casting one’s lot with God’s adversary.

--Alan Keyes

A man who for over 30 years of his adult life by his own admission justified the wholesale slaughter of innocent and helpless human life is purely evil and can and did justify anything. Many times.

Romney's entire political life has been a mis-adventure into godless liberal/progressive evil. There can be no denying that he has during his tenure either advocated for or personally enacted nearly the entire godless liberal/progressive agenda. He has succeeded where the Democrats have failed and he has shown them the way. His record of evil leftist doings, rationalizing, justifying, flip-flopping and mealy-mouthed parsing and spinning (lying) precedes him and tells the tale of the man. He has no foundation. No core principles. No Christian values. No moral compass. If ever a man was a godless liberal in the GOP, he is Myth Romney.

If the Republican conservatives in office or in leadership positions or in the so-called conservative media would simply stop rooting for this evil bastard and commit to the TRUTH and stand tall for Life and Liberty now and at the convention, we could chuck this liberal bastard onto the ash heap of history and run a pro-life, pro-liberty, pro-small government conservative Republican that we can all be proud to support over the Marxist usurper. And we would WIN in a Reaganesque landslide!!

Perversely, Romney is just about the only Republican who may actually lose to Obama. Hell, even McCain beat Romney.

Taking the right path is not easy and not popular at this time, but it's the only path.

May we stand on God's side while attempting to save our Republic!!

Repeating falsehoods does not change reality. Romney did not ban guns in Massachusetts. I know because I used to live there and I did not have to give mine up.

An easily disproved bit of misinformation.

Romney signs off on permanent assault weapons ban

"Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts," Romney said..."These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."

What's the dif -- you guys apparently think Obama is invested with omnipotent powers and that resistance is useless -- he can just declare his mandate on anything he wants! Though why we are now still free to FReep and why we're even having elections at all I guess is due to the merciful restraint of the Great and Terrrible Oz-Obama.

So instead of resisting, you guys, with your screen names that imply warrior hearts but posts that confirm craven spirits, surrender wholesale to liberalism by promoting Romney into the highest position in both America and the Republican party.

Jim,
I just can’t help but think that “it isn’t over till the fat lady sings”..... the Republican convention has not yet happened. Doesn’t than mean that Romney is not the candidate until the convention proclaims him so?

Is there anyway that we can pull out a miracle and nominate someone like Newt? What if a couple of million tea party people showed up in Tampa demanding the convention nominate someone who will indeed defend the constitution. What if three million of us were standing outside the convention in prayer vigil. I am grasping for hope here..... do you see a chance we can turn it around?

Nope, you don't fight evil with evil huh?

My perception of this strawman battle would be to crush it into the dirt
then pulverize it into dust, and burn it. Then celebrate by pissing all over what's left.

How do these asshats find the time to breathe? So simple are their answers
to create a perfect utopia. Evil will use the constitution, but only parts that
suit them to protect themselves against anyone trying to stop their agenda.
Evil will hide in courtrooms to protect themselves against those they are trying to destroy.

They certainly dream of setting the rules that they will never follow.
No wait, no dream, the Dems are doing it already.

Finny, I am not fighting with you.

I just stated that your line of reasoning regarding Obama lacking a “Mandate” is just plain silly considering the Liberal Sycophants in our Media driven culture.

Pharaoh Obama don't need no Mandate, in my best Holder's People dialect.

You have Posted many other reasons to explain your position, but the lack of a “Mandate” argument is not based on the reality in today's America. Maybe thirty years ago it would hold water, but when we have a President who acts like a Dictator and his supporters gleefully encourage his behavior. We are dealing with a whole new breed of animal.

I hope that explains my earlier post to you. If not, there is nothing I can add.

Ummm, actually you can.

God wiped out the Babylonians with the Medes and Persians.

He then wiped out the Medes and Persians with the Greeks.

He then wiped out the Greeks with the Romans.

It can be done.

Evil is relative. If you want to get down to it, every single person alive on this earth is evil. Some of us are saved and redeemed, but not because of ourselves. Good people are evil people that have self control, if you believe what the bible says about our fallen, sinful natures.

And that old nature is still inside the redeemed, we have both the old man and the new inside, but the old sinful nature we have to fight every day.

Without question, Romney has shown Progressive tendencies and it is entirely fair to point that out, as you and others have done. But I think it unfair to call Romney "godless" when he clearly believes in God - even if he and I (as a Jew) call him by different names. Obama appears to worship a rather different deity - namely, himself.

Some "choice". But still - it is a choice. You've got to do what you need to do and I'll never fault you for making your own decision. I share your concerns about the social agenda. Radical homosexual propaganda and abortion are aiding the destruction of everything good and decent about America. But from where I sit, we'll never again have a chance to change the culture if Obama wins. And all we have left right now, like it or not, is a chance. We're that far gone. Otherwise, I'd sit it out, too.

I’d rather fight president Romney than King Obama.

If the Congress is Republican, it will be easier to stop Obama than Romney.

KC, I agree that the meaning of a “win with no mandate” would be utterly lost on Barack Obama.

We have the most unenviable choice coming up, unless Mitt Romney gets run over by a beer truck, figuratively speaking.

People have been conditioned since they were little to regard a check by the candidate of your choice to mean you love the candidate in a global sense. This is kind of the same folly by which Israel fell in love with its kings, which ended as we know in ruination.

So, andy.
You have nothing to say to either EV or myself about proving your claim that Romney never signed a gun ban wrong?
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2907711/posts?page=89#89

Instead you turn around and post “Without question, Romney has shown Progressive tendencies”?
Where’s your claim that we are lying about those liberal facts in his background?

Jim (and I, though we don’t see eye to eye on some matters) comes from a Christian world view. That’s very black and white and does not allow a lot of room for “this person was worshiping a true God but confusedly.” From a Jewish point of view, the philosophy on such matters is a bit more liberal. I think this is where Jim is coming from.

My prayer all along has been to get a replacement for Romney at the convention so we can defeat that Marxist usurping bastard. Romney is a big “L” loser.

Also, to get all grassroots conservatives to turnout and vote straight conservative up and down the ticket for every office in every state and district and locale all across this great land. We need the majorities in as many executive positions and legislative bodies as possible so we can begin impeaching, expelling and removing the corrupt liberty killing usurping crony statist bastards from their executive offices, their legislative seats, their high judicial benches and fire as many of their corrupt underlings as is possible. And repeal, rescind, overturn, abolish, nullify and otherwise render moot any and all unconstitutional, anti-liberty acts, decrees, decisions, amendments, treaties, departments, agencies, commissions, regulations, etc., as this is the only way we’ll ever restore our constitution and reclaim our liberty short of physically running the bums out on a rail. It’s a constitutional crisis to end all unconstitutional crisis.

The 2010 tea party sweeps was just a warm-up act for the 2012 tea party rebellion!!

I can see November from my house!!

Give me liberty or give me death (or bankruptcy - same thing)!!

“I’m not voting for the lesser of two evils. I’m proudly voting for, (and contributing to) Romney.”

IF you are “proudly” voting for Romney, then you are as evil as he and don’t belong on this forum.

Being ABO is one thing, but to proclaim SUPPORT FOR ROMNEY! Man I am amazed you have not be zotted.

Only one of the two candidates has to worry about what people think about what he will or won’t do the next four years. Hint, it ain’t Obama.

Jim, we’ve clashed a lot on the utilitarian argument about voting for Mitt.

But it would be my fondest dream to see Mitt elbowed out and replaced with somebody reasonable. In my sweetest dream that would be Sarah Palin.
