AURORA, Colo. (AP) — A gunman wearing a gas mask opened fire early Friday at a suburban Denver theater at the opening of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises," killing 14 people and injuring at least 50 others, authorities said.
The gunman, who is in custody, stood at the front of the theater and fired into the crowd about 12:30 a.m. MDT at a multiplex theater in a mall in Aurora.
"Witnesses tell us he released some sort of canister. They heard a hissing sound and some gas emerged and the gunman opened fire," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said at a news conference.

The You tube post of the police radio traffic had the police saying the arrested shooter was Mohammed Alam. That is why it people think its a muslim.
Dr. Michael Baden was commenting: we have to track guns, we have to track bullets, we have to track tear gas canisters. Every time there is a situation like this, it is predictable.
Yup. Terrible thing to think, but I think the left is happy when things like this happen because it give them more ammo to try to ban guns.
Apparently some of the shots in theater #9, actually went through the wall and entered an adjacent theater. That caused people to think there was a single shooter in each of two theaters. Thus, two shooters.
Anyone know if the theater was a defenseless victim zone? Was it posted “no guns”?

My local news was covering it at the top and bottom of the hour, but when I turned to FoxNews, it was wall-to-wall with experts, people "at the scene," etc. And the guessing, the prognosticating, the absolutely saccharine journalism was nauseating. I remembered why I hate the national news outlets.

My husband says the mall there is definitely “no guns” allowed. The theater is outside the mall. He believes the the theater is the same and thinks he remembers seeing it at

Doctor Baden is not thinking it through. We need to lock everyone down in their house every night at curfew, issue electronic bracelets, and for the newborns, chip implants. Then everybody be safe.
Horrific. Absolutely horrific. The most I can do is offer prayers for the families and those who were hurt in the shooting.
I have read that a 6 year old girl was wounded and a 3 month old baby was either wounded or killed. This little girl should have never been at this PG-13 movie, and an infant, while obviously too young to watch the movie, still could be scared or disturbed by the loud noise of the movie, so the infant shouldn’t have been there either.
If I remember correctly, this Doctor Baden character testified at the OJ criminal trial in 1995, as part of OJ’s extended defense team.
