Vows to block eatery over anti-gay attitude... Mayor Thomas M. Menino is vowing to block Chick-fil-A from bringing its Southern-fried fast-food empire to Boston possibly to a popular tourist spot just steps from the Freedom Trail after the family-owned firms president suggested gay marriage is inviting Gods judgment on our nation.
Chick-fil-A doesnt belong in Boston. You cant have a business in the city of Boston that discriminates against a population. Were an open city, were a city thats at the forefront of inclusion, Menino told the Herald yesterday.
Thats the Freedom Trail. Thats where it all started right here. And were not going to have a company, Chick-fil-A or whatever the hell the name is, on our Freedom Trail.

I’m anti-SIN. Get over it!
I went to Chick FilA for dinner last night. While I was there, I looked at the doors, looked above the counter, looked at various tables and even asked one of the counter help where it specifically said, “We do not serve gays.”
Poor kid looked at me like I was nuts. My wife dragged me out of there before I made a scene. Did manage to get some waffle fries in me...
Yummmmmm
We need to publicly start boycotting businesses that vocally support deviant behavior.
Interesting that Menino wants to ban Chick-fil-A while allowing a Holocaust Memorial there right on the Freedom Trail. Doesn’t that hurt the feelings of the Muslims? What is he thinking?
The only fast food we eat is an occassional dinner salad from Wendy’s or Subway sandwiches which have every veggie possible on them. Chick-fil-A is opening in our town in a couple of weeks, we will definitely give them a try.
The two times I've eaten there I wasn't impressed. Esp the waffle fries, they suk IMO.
OTOH I may just start frequenting them because of the controversy over their moral stance.
The Cathy family own Chick Fil A and they are devout Christians and live their faith. Their restaurants are closed on Sundays, they believe in the Gospel and aren't ashamed of it. They don't club anyone over the head or advocate killing non believers but if asked they will always defend Christ and his church. When your faith is that solid you can't, and shouldn't, seperate it from the rest of your life. It's not a one day a week thing.
I remember during the Clinton impeachment that Mr. Cathy said that he wouldn't hire a man who'd cheated on his wife to run one of his restaurants because how could he ever trust a guy who can't be trusted by his own wife. I admire that.
The Freedom this slug is talking about is freedom to oppress those who have their own beliefs, values and morality different from the rabid liberal dogma of 'diversity'.
Diversity has crippled this country and allowed a despot to take control. A despot hell-bent on spreading Islam and propagating revenge on white people.
Had one yesterday. They are delicious.
Traditional morality is Banned in Boston.
“All of the above” gets my vote.
I went in one morning around 11:30AM and to order from the lunch menu.
They walked around the store offering biscuits and gravy they were not sold, free to customers.
Very polite kids.
Sigh... I wonder if they’d consider opening a Tokyo branch...

Let's see...you can force your values on business but a business can not have the freedom to live their values and either sink or swim because of those values in your world? Yep...just love the logic of the liberals.
I doubt you even realize how hilarious you sound, Mayor. Typical progressive.
The Spicy Chicken sandwich is to die for! and their Chicken Noodle Soup is among the best I have ever had.
Plus every Chik-Fil-A I have ever been in has been spotless and the service is better than any other fast food joint and better than most sit down restaurants.
Chick Fil A is great. Clean restaurants, really fast, great food. I eat there a lot and it is consistently good. The employees are fresh-faced and always friendly. They are closed on Sundays.
I have yet to meet a Donk under 60 that doesn’t turn cartwheels over all things ghey. More than a few of the young Donks I’ve known have turned out to be something other than straight, so it doesn’t surprise me much. The old ones pretend that the issue isn’t a big deal and refuse to weigh in.
