Police say apartment of lone wolf killer James Holmes, 24, is booby-trapped as his mother says 'you've got the right man'

Police have evacuated the area surrounding the apartment of the man suspected of shooting dead at least 12 people and wounding 50 others during a late-night screening of the new Batman movie as they reveal his home is booby-trapped.
James Holmes, 24, told officers he had explosives stored at his apartment when he was arrested after opening fire at random at the mall in Aurora, Colorado.
Police said they were forced to evacuate Holmes' apartment block, situated four miles from the scene of the horrific crime in North Aurora, and five surrounding buildings.

Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates says bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He says police could be there some time.
Oates says pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated.

Why not take him to the apartment to disarm it. He clearly does not want to die so I’d force him to go in first.

As speculation mounts about the motive behind the mass shooting, one private investigator has said that Holmes may have been part of Occupy Wall Street's most violent faction, Occupy Black Bloc.
Well that’s understandable; why would the FBI be interested in the Occupy Wall Street kids? Everybody knows that those kids are just peaceful college kids who want to make a better world.

Where did you hear air force cadets were at the movie? There are plenty of movie theaters in Colorado Springs (where the academy is), which is about an hour drive from Aurora.
Unfortunately it is coming out now that there are.

What on earth gave you that idea? This is summer. BCT is in full swing for the Smacks, everyone else is either helping to run that or elsewhere for another program or on leave.
It was also a week night. Unless things have loosened up a lot since my cadet days there were most likely very few cadets in Aurora that night.
