While much remains unclear about the shooting – which took place 30 minutes from Columbine High School where 13 people were shot to death in 1999 - it is likely to reinvigorate the debate over gun laws. Here are some highlights from the State Patrol’s primer on the state’s gun laws.

One Conceal carry permit could have stopped it.

The debate on this will be interesting because I think Colorado is one of a few states that have banned private sales without background check; or to put it in the words of liberals, Colorado has already “closed the loophole”.

You beat me to it. My point exactly. A responsible, armed citizen in the crowd could have saved many lives and injuries.

I remember an incident in an Israeli supermarket a few years ago. Shooter was taken out by a young woman who was armed.

Oh, you mean the kneejerk reaction to Columbine didn’t prevent this? SHOCKER.

No surprise, the Progressive Fascists running the Democrat Party are such shameless scum they will not hesitate for a second to try and exploit this tragedy.

It is that complete lack of any sense of decency or rationality on the part of the current leadership of the Democrat Party that renders them complete unfit to hold any political power at any level.

What a shocking revelation from the media. I heard from someone that guns were not allowed in the theater. Maybe this dropout med student could not read signs either. Apparently law abiding CCW folks were. That may have gotten them killed. Hope the families all file wrongful death lawsuits against the management for not allowing them to protect themselves.

As the libs try to continue their game of “whack-a-mole” with the Bill of Rights, they’re already having to retract their knee jerk accusations against the Tea Party, claiming they released the story before “vetting” it properly. Not “vetting things properly” seems to me a hallmark with the left, starting with their dear leader.

I understand that it is illegal, per local ordinance, to have a concealed carry firearm in this town.

I wonder if it has dawned on them that this didnt protect these people? Is the town culpable in this because they failed to protect these people because of this ordinance?

That is..false publishing. Plain and simple. The tea party Jim Holmes-if there is one, has a case as does the local tea party.

How much do they sue for?

Actually, the Theater Chain has a policy prohibiting concealed carry. Clearly, the suspect failed to read the notice.

Of course that hasn't dawned on them. Liberals are superior, and accept no blame, hence this could not possibly be the result of their policies. Just like NYC, the blame will be placed on other jurisdictions that aren't as *enlightened* as Aurora and still have "lax gun laws" resulting in a "river of iron" flowing into their otherwise pristine utopia.
