Bloomberg demands gun action from Obama, Romney

(CNN) - New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an outspoken advocate of stricter gun-control laws, said in a radio interview Friday the two candidates for president needed to take a firmer line in addressing gun violence.

Bloomberg's comments came as police and the FBI were investigating a deadly shooting in Colorado that left at least 12 people dead.

"Soothing words are nice, but maybe it's time that the two people who want to be president of the United States stand up and tell us what they are going to do about it, because this is obviously a problem across the country," Bloomberg said on WOR Radio's "The John Gambling Show."

Bloomberg continued, saying Friday's tragedy should spark greater focus on how guns reach killers.

"I mean, there are so many murders with guns every day, it's just got to stop," Bloomberg said. "And instead of the two people - President Obama and Governor Romney - talking in broad things about they want to make the world a better place, okay, tell us how."

Expect the gun control crescendo to go exponential now.

I’m really thankful I don’t live in New Yawk where Bloomberg wants to control every aspect of life. If he doesn’t like people having guns, then he should take the appropriate steps set forth in The Constitution and have the 2nd Amendment Repealed. In the meantime, he and his lib buddies can STFU!

Let’s focus on banning large-quantity soft drinks. Clearly, people at movie theaters consume large-size drinks. If movie theaters didn’t have such large size drinks, then perhaps not as many people would have died.

I hate it but Bloomberg is a moron and he’s just another dictator wannabe but apparently New Yorkers like that- they’ve given him more than one term - right now NYC unemployment rate is 10 %. I’m sure however that New Yorkers will give him yet another term. You just have to wonder about people.

Bloomberg needs to shut his fat stupid yap and read the Bill of Rights.
There’s a reason the second one is in there, he needs to figure that out and shut the heck up.
There is a reason no military force has invaded us.

” New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, an outspoken advocate of stricter gun-control laws, said in a radio interview Friday the two candidates for president needed to take a firmer line in addressing gun violence.”

Obama might need to address gun violence, as there are already reportedly more murders in Chicago this year, than in all of last year. I doubt Romney has a similar worry : )

Take all guns away from all Democrats. That should do it.

That figures. The liberals always predictable and it isn't always about the control of fire arms. The stupid laws and regulations we have aren’t stupid enough so we need even more stupider laws and regs.

Bloomberg isn’t worried. He has plenty of armed guards to protect him. Suppose one of the audience in a decent position had a gun. The body count could have been lower.

For an apparently intelligent businessman, who has made a lot of money, Mayor Bloomberg is an emotion driven dysron when it comes to understanding social reality. There is no way we can prevent a crazed individual, with the intelligence to concoct & plot an atrocity, from committing an atrocity.

I am sure that the Mayor is trying to provoke an attack on the Second Amendment, but that is completely irrational. Does anyone believe that a PHD student at a medical college, would not be able to devise an even more deadly attack, without resorting to firearms?

(I withhold suggestions, lest they trigger some weird, hate driven attack, by stirring an evil imagination..)

Of course, the most rational answer would be to provide armed--not disarmed--staff at all large crowd events; but that might seem cost prohibitive, considering that this is not a common occurrence. But when only the despicable are armed, the law abiding are vulnerable.

It also occurs, that perhaps this depraved individual was set off, like those at nearby Columbine High School in the 1990s & at other High Schools, by the trashing of normal adolescent motivations. There are not enough facts known, yet, to make the connection; but here is a response offered in the '90s, to the Leftist effort to disarm the law-abiding over Columbine: Something Of Value.

May God give the decent people of America the moral fiber and strength to resist the calls by those who are not comfortable with a free society, to give up our fundamental rights in the name of "safety!" History is replete with evidence that such surrender brings neither freedom nor safety.

It happens every time. After columbine, the anti-gun crowd went ape, after the Asian guy went nuts in Virginia —same thing. Nothing new here. People like Nanny Bloomberg and a plethora of others want to disarm law abiding sane Americans. The crazies & criminal are going to get the guns no matter. So why screw the rest of us. I really wish we had Israeli gun laws here.
