ABC's Brian Ross may have apologized for linking Colorado Tea Party member James Holmes to the alleged violent "Batman" shooter who killed 12 and wounded 59 others in the early morning hours today, but that hasn't stopped threats against Holmes from rolling in. More from Twitchy:

Holmes is a 52-year-old Hispanic conservative who joined the Tea Party after becoming disillusioned with the Republican party.
"It was freaky," said Holmes, describing his reaction when ABC News speculated that he was the culprit who entered a crowded theater and opened fire on dozens of innocent men, women, and children. He disconnected his telephone and says that he is worried about members of his family who might be contacted by the media.
Have they called him a “white hispanic” yet?

Brian ross got it out there pretty darn quickly. Consciously or not the damage has been done. Remember when Gabby Giffords was shot? Someone mentioned the “Tea Party* and BOOM! All over the news. Yeah, they make a retraction and who listens?

I’ll throw CBS into the mess. Just 5 minutes ago, CBS told about a guy who rescued his family from the theater. Guess who that was? The same idiot who earlier admitted to dropping his kid, jumping off the balcony, running outside and driving away in his car leaving his girlfriend and two kids to fend for themselves. I read the headlines this morning online and then turned on the television morning news shows (which I never do anymore - can’t stand the criminal bias)for a total of 20 seconds.
My television was already tuned to ABC when I turned it on.
During those 20 seconds, George “midget-man” Stephie was gleefully spewing the Demorat talking point of linking the tea party to the crime and Brian Ross agreed it could be true.
I shut off my television. That’s 20 seconds of my life I’ll never get back again.
Stephie should just broadcast straight from Obama’s a## and cut out the middle man.

I long ago recognized the bias in the media. But after the combined coverage of the Obama-worshipping 2008 election and the 2010 mass-murder in Tucson being blamed on Palin and the Tea Party, the media crossed over into territory that made them soulmates to the propagandistic, Soviet-Era mouthpieces of Pravda. They can’t be trusted on anything. They’re only allegiance is to the promotion and protection of the socialist state.

I wonder if there are any conservative attorneys out there who would represent him in a huge libel lawsuit against ABC? With the proceeds being used to pay for Tea Party events, which would make the win all the sweeter.

During the Mike Rosen show on 850KOA out of Denver today a caller said he recognized the shooter immediately from his picture and that he had interviewed him at an Occupy Denver rally. Mike asked him to send him the video. Wouldn’t that be something if it were true after the media has already tried to link him with the T.E.A. party. I didn’t hear the whole exchange so I am going to download the podcast and listen to it again. He said he was almost certain and Mike said almost certain wasn’t good enough and he would be excited to hear back from the guy.
Yup. I don’t like slip-and-fall lawyers, but in this case, I’ll make an exception. I hope Mr. Holmes finds himself a really, really expensive slip-and-fall, and gives ABC News what they sorely deserve. That’s the only way to stop this crap.
