I don’t think there are any limits on ammo purchases that he would have run afoul of.

I would have no trouble buying that much ammo. I probably have that much ammo now, if you count it all up.

A 1,000 round case is a commonly purchased amount of .223 or 5.56 ammo. Or even .40 S&W.

Do we know for sure that he had body armor? In post #78, it talks about him being sold an "assault vest", which is not body armor, but just a vest with lots of pockets for magazines and places to hang gear from. Could that have been mistaken for armor?
