Judge Seals 'Batman' Shooting Case
The Daily ^ | July 20, 2012 | Sergio Hernandez

Posted on 07/22/2012 4:17:09 PM PDT by nightlight7

An Arapahoe County Court judge has granted a request to seal the case against James Holmes, the 24-year-old shooter who killed 12 and wounded 50 during a screening last night of "The Dark Knight Rises."

The motion, filed in Arapahoe County court, asks for the records in the case to be sealed, including search warrants, affidavits, orders and the "case file."

... disclosure of the court records would be "contrary to public interest" and "could jeopardize the ongoing investigation."

“The public and the family will know all there is to know in due time.”

Tell it to the Terry and Zapata families. Oh, and do we yet know all there is to know about Oklahoma City? How about Waco and Ruby Ridge?

I just started thinking of the many caricatures of our Muslim president as the Joker.

And Obama was the one who said "Bring a Gun".

Me thinks this is another Ted Kazinski type. Of course, Ted's brother knew for years.

Does James have any siblings?? I don't think anyone has brought it up and I'm not sure why.

That is a presumption that is completely unwarranted - particularly if there is any third-party involvement in this crime.

There are always a large number of false leads in a serious conspiracy crime and innocent people will all too easily be targeted by lynch mobs or vigilantes based on incorrect data. It is probably best if the police keep their working lists confidential for some time to come.

However, a scheduled release of verified information had better be part of the plan for the follow-on investigation into the massacre.

If Obama and Holder can give weapons to Mexican drug cartels, maybe thousands of weapons, knowing full well Mexican, and possibly American citizens would be murdered with them, it would be NO problem for them to pull a stunt like this. Damn sure wouldn’t be ethics preventing it.

You do realize that every case you mentioned was a federal case?

As I understand it, this investigation is led by local law enforcement. Local. Boots on the ground, not in an office in Washington.

Give these guys some credit. I think they can handle it, and better without a nation full of noses in their business.

It took 19 hours to tell the families that their loved ones had been killed.

Remember how well the Jon Benet Ramsey case went?
Columbine?

What is it about that state?

the words, “Let’s roll,” which authorities believe was a signal to the other passengers to confront the terrorist hijackers. In one hour, a transformation occurred among the passengers—athletes, business people and parents—from sh...eep to sheepdogs and together they fought the wolves, ultimately saving an unknown number of lives on the ground.

This is what our leaders ought to be telling America instead of the same ole “I’m so sorry for your loss “ crap we hear evey damn stinikin time. We need to instill in our youth and in our Citizens the mental attitude of...ATTACK.

They were so busy high fiving and patting themselves on the back about "all they were going through" and their "quick response", that they let the families of the dead hang for 19 hours.
Tell Tom Sullivan about how well they can handle this.

He was BEGGING for news on his son. 19 hours!!!

Before hearing this I struggled to even ponder the possibility that the Theater Shooting in Aurora is connected in any way to the Obama people. But then I thought about Fast & Furious, his dangerously low approval ratings, all his hidden documents and the possibility that he may think staying in power would be the most convenient way of making sure those documents are kept hidden and the upcoming UN Small Arms Treaty (July 27).

After I thought about all of that, there was a small part of me that wondered if The Theater Shooting may have possibly been manipulated into action in one way or another by the Obama people.

But NOW after reading this I struggle less over the possibility that the Obama people may have again manipulated a crime which resulted in deaths in order to advance their anti-gun agenda.

This is Oklahoma City all over again.

OK City was the turning point for Clinton if you recall. I can guarantee the WH views this "opportunity" as a turning point.
1st - anything to distract from FF and economy is good
2nd - they will tie the incident to need for more gun control
3rd - they WILL connect it to gun loving Republicans - facts be damned

OKC again?

Part that bother’s me is his lack of “friends”.

Not sure where he learned to build explosives. No military or spook background. No connection to those who used explosives in the military.

Now, his choice of place for this made the need for marksman skills minor issue.

There are still lots of questions:

Unemployed but has money to buy weapons & explosive chemicals?

Acquired explosive skills?

Claimed to be politically neutral? (BS)

Claimed to be agnostic? (BS)

Yes, it smells like a Leftie hiding.

In a perfect world, where filthy scumbags like James Holmes admit their crimes to police, there is no doubt of their guilt, Aurora Police Chief Daniel Oates would bring Holmes from his solitary confinement cell, outside to the steps of police headquarters, put the cowardly little prick to his knees, and then announce in a loud clear voice "I, Aurora Police Chief Daniel Oates, having heard the confession of guilt from the condemned James Holmes, conclude there is no justification for this killer of men, women and children to live even one more minute breathing oxygen, unlike his victims. Therefore I pronounce the sentence of death as provided for under the laws of the State of Colorado, may God have mercy on your soul."

Then Chief Oates puts the barrel of his service revolver to the back of Holmes' head, pulls the trigger, and blasts his brains out.

And I'll bet there would not be a jury anywhere in Colorado that would find Chief Oates 'guilty' of murder.

Watching NBC Nightly News Sunday, the gun control effort coming out of this may have already fizzled. You could tell NBC’s heart wasn’t in it, polls don’t support it and mostly they just showed the typical blowhards. If this was some kind of operation, they wasted many lives for nothing.

I’ve seen many cases closed like this. This is nothing out of the ordinary. The first thing that went through my mind when I heard it was a movie theater was how in the world did he get in the door when it was locked. Someone had to have opened the door from the inside or Holmes had to have fixed the door prior to going in.

james has a younger sister. His mother , when initially contacted said, “You have the right person.” What did she know and what did she observe? Did he charge all the guns or ammo on the family’s charge card? But even if she knew or felt concerned, he’s 24 and a “brilliant scientist” Could she and her husband done anything? Probably not. He is of age.

There is a difference between keeping some information from the public due to an ongoing investigation, and “sealing” all information.

Legally speaking, once information has come into the public record (search warrants, etc), the only way to keep that information from the public is often to have the record sealed. Since Holmes is being arraigned tomorrow, sealing this information is likely the only way to keep it from the public (and thus from any other suspects).

Now obama's sealed records won't feel lonely anymore. Obama and Holmes are now united. They have so much in common except one is inside and the other is outside.

Just waiting for Obama to say something idiotic like "if I had a best friend, he would look like James Holmes".

I agree.

Perhaps, and just perhaps that giving that this is still an on-going, very fluid and very high profile investigation, with media interests and requests, no make that demands for minute to minute updates coming in from around the world, the police and DA’s would just like to be left alone for a while to finish doing their jobs, to build their case against this guy.

And while I think he probably acted alone, if perchance he didn't, sealing the case for the time being may be done as to not tip others involved that the investigators are on their trail. Im not jumping to conclusions over this just yet.
