Remarks I will never hear on the lame-stream media:
1)Tens of thousands of Americans bought firearms and ammo in the last 6 months and did NOT open fire in a crowded theater.
2) Hate to be the one to tell you but an AR-15, 2 Glocks and a 12-gauge is NOT an arsenal. It's not even a lot of firearms - as things go.
There will be more and more crazies as our culture continues to circle the drain.
“1)Tens of thousands of Americans bought firearms and ammo in the last 6 months “
Make that ‘millions’. Millions of people bought guns and ammo in the last six months.
Sorry it’s not a petition but a survey.
Timothy McVeigh didn’t use a gun.
Neither did the London subway bombers, the 9/11 creeps, many more.
This guy in Aurora was an accomplished bombmaker, from all reports. Take his guns, he’ll use grenades.
Killers will kill. Concentrating on method rather than cause and prevention is short-sighted and stupid.
And Switzerland, one of the most heavily-armed countries on earth, is also one of the most peaceful and crime-free.
For the record, I really do not like guns. At all. Own them, don’t like them.
Another limiting factor as far as the carnage goes, is that the guy didn’t have a death wish. He was not intent on dying with his victims..if it were the case, it could (would) have been a lot worse. For as methodical as the shooter was, it is obvious to me that he values his own life by the fact that he gave up to the Police outside the theater.
You are correct - I was warding off ridiculous criticism!
Plus....if you go to the range with older kids/teenagers you can go thru $300-$400 of ammo in a few hours so it’s not even unusual to spend a great deal of money buying ammo online....a fact that libs would ever understand even tho they have higher monthly payments on their Prii and Subarus.
Public schools and liberal colleges are breeding these malcontents . In Mexico the civilian population is forbidden to have guns period so our presidents admin. has sent them real nice ones .
Chicago had 41 murders last month ,, making the Colorado incedent look like a small affair . I can hardly wait til this months casuality count is released . Did the president lower the flag for them ???
Feral youths are a product of a liberal agenda . Liberals create a problem so they can apply the politically correct solution they wanted in the first place and created it . What the hell do you think Fast and Furious was all about ,,,,, gun control was their rational .
In my fantasy world, this is the story I am waiting to hear:
“An assassin stood up in a crowded theater last night and began to open fire on the theater patrons.
Shortly afterwards, an armed theater patron shot and killed the assassin.
The armed theater patron disappeared into the crowd and is not being sought by law enforcement.”
ar·se·nal/ˈärs(ə)-nl/
Noun: A collection of one or more weapons or items of military equipment stored by a country, person, or group: "Britain's Nuclear Arsenal" or "Ralphie's Red Rider Air Rifle Arsenal".

Note: These bullets were fired through the theater wall and killed one person in the next theater over and one in Iraq - that sounds like an arsenal to me!
Jedidiah..your comments are the first I always think of in these situations. It’s the difference in “us” and “them”. My first thought was that if most everyone in the theater had been armed, the shooter would not have gotten off so many shots. His vest was “bullet resistant” according to the police chief...a .357 would have at least knocked him down then he could have been disarmed or killed.
Why libs think that people who don’t obey laws against murder are going to obey gun laws is something they cannot logically explain.
Your preaching to the choir buddy, we both know public opinion on gun control will take a turn for the worse. Brace yourselves for more gun control laws coming down the pipeline.
Of all the tools I own, I hate my chain saw the worst.
How many die from shootings in Chicago’s worst weekends and the media treats it like business as usual?
No, actually the fact which should put Aurora into perspective is this:
Deaths from mass shootings (which kill 4 or more) per year in the US: 163
(from http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/20/dark-knight-shooting_n_1689505.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopular, not my favorite source, but data is data)
People falling/drowning in their bathtub per year: 314 (for year 2000, appears to be about normal-http://danger.mongabay.com/injury_death.htm)
So people might want to consider the fact that bathtubs are considerably more deadly that mass shootings.
Deep.
I thought that scenario out before and I think the police would search out a witness to ID that CCW because he had a firearm in a (Cinemark policy) free fire zone. If caught, the media would perp walk him and conservatives would hail him as a hero.
“...police would search out a witness...”
-
In my fantasy world,
all of the other theater-goers would say they were unable to identify the hero...
...you know...
...because of all the shock and emotion and er’-thing...
Why We Should Swallow Our Vomit And Vote Straight Ticket
I’m just here to stir the muck ....
Extrapolating from your facts, the salient difference between firearms and soap is that there is no constitutionally protected right—or obligation—to bathe one’s self/skanky a**.
Of course this might explain the olfactory pungeance of OWS, their parents and the like/ilk.
They may use your argument to say that they fear bath tubs and shower stalls.
As a result when they attempt (once again) to burden our 2nd Amendment rights, we will have to pass a law requiring that stinking hippies of all ages, stripes and socio-economic classes adhere to a certain minimum standard of bodily hygiene.
In order to do that we’ll need a A GOP congress and executive branch.
Admittedly, there is no guarantee that a GOP congress and executive branch will be conservative, but I tender for your consideration that it is more likely that Republicans will have higher sanitary standards than Democrats (to wit, Mrs. Barney Frank) and require similar standards from others.
I’m sure that Mitt Romney, as life-like as he is or can be, doesn’t stink up a room like, say, a Reverend Al Sharpton. I mean, they don’t let just anyone try on those celestial undergarments; I’m sure you have to pass some sort of `sniff test’ to become a Mormon bishop
So that’s the choice: a stinking Obama and his anarchic, odoriferous fellow dhimmicrats, or a hygienic GOP and your 2nd Amendment rights.
*an AR-15 AK-47 assault rifle machine gun
*two fully-automatic Glock AK-47 assault rifle revolvers
*12-gauge automatic AK-47 assault rifle shotgun
There are sure alot of firearms that I’ve never heard of and I have my FFL.
Yesterday I read about an 8ga Remington 1270.
WHO are these people?
One of the things I always point out whenever I’m drawn into conversations about things like this is that I could go to the local Home Depot and a gas station and come home with everything I would need to murder a lot of people.
And a .380 or .38 special between the lights would have put him down, permanently. But a bunch of peripheral hits on arms and legs, would have also taken him out of action, long enough at any rate.
Aurora Death Toll = 12
2012 Chicago, IL homicides as of 6/30/2012 = 283
2012 NY City homicides as of 6/30/2012 = 193
2012 Death Toll In Afghanistan as of 6/16/2012 = 144
Its almost as if this rampage was made to order to give Obama an issue to inflame anti-gun passions just at the time when liberals are trying to force a UN gun control treaty on the USA.
A suspicious person might wonder if this was another False Flag project (like Fast and Furious), calculated to provide liberals with a gun issue at just the right time to bolster their pro-treaty arguments (and maybe help with Obama's reelection too)
Id say the lessons learned are:
1) Make sure your CC (concealed carry) weapons have a well adjusted laser.
2) Target practice like crazy, practicing shooting while diving, running, jumping out of helicopters and repelling down walls if possible
3) save lives first then worry about CC restriction laws later.
Not saying doing these things could have stopped Holmes, but I think several people doing all these things in the audience might have had a better chance at less causalities.
Do we let them disarm us? Never! They can pass all the laws they want. Too many guns already out there. Most of them in the hands of good people ready stop the tyranny of a government hell bent on controlling us.
Thank you for the only laugh I’ve had today. That’s good!
