2012 Doomsday: It's not just Mayan claim

Countless cultures predict end-time scenario this year

An author investigating ancient prophecies is again sounding the alarm about numerous predictions suggesting 2012 could be the beginning of the “end of the age” spoken of in the Holy Bible.

Last year, WND reported on Tom Horn’s efforts to let everyone to know calendars besides the ancient Mayan one predict the demise of human civilization in 2012, and he claims a demonic plot bringing about the end date could be hiding in plain sight inside the U.S. Capitol.

He’s now continuing his effort to publicize the matter with speeches across the nation, providing more possible clues into when apocalyptic prophesies of the Bible might be fulfilled with the “Second Coming” of Jesus to administer the kingdom of God on Earth.

In his latest book titled “Petrus Romanus: The Final Pope Is Here,” Horn sheds light on ancient non-biblical prophecies from St. Malachy concerning the Catholic Church, and provides evidence the next pope, the one following Benedict XVI, is to be the final pontiff before the return of Jesus.

“As the legend goes,” says Horn, “Malachy experienced what is today considered a famous vision commonly called ‘The Prophecy of the Popes.’ The prophecy is a list of Latin verses predicting each of the Roman Catholic popes from Pope Celestine II to the final pope, ‘Peter the Roman,’ whose reign would end in the destruction of Rome.”

While the prophecy itself does not mention the year 2012, Horn says the Vatican’s Jesuit mathematician and codebreaker Rene Thibaut wrote 61 years ago it would be fulfilled in 2012, and he adds current events at the Vatican “certainly point to the soon fulfillment of this prophecy.”

When translated from Latin to English, the final segment of the prophecy reads: “In the extreme persecution of

They haven’t happened? The world’s economies are in ruin, they can print all the money they want, but it only delays the inevitable, total economic collapse! The Middle Easts’ governments have been taken over by fundamentalist Islamic groups, and Israel finds itself surrounded with no friendly dictators, whose own procurement of their own power and wealth, staved off Israel’s enemies from invading! The world has faced numerous natural disasters from the tsunami of Indonesia and Japan to numerous earthquakes and wildfires, the United States alone saw the city of New Orleans drown, and 30% of its’ population migrating, also, not to mention the fall of our nations’ economic symbol, the twin towers! We have a communist in office who is an avowed mooslim who turns his back on Israel and fiddles while Rome burns! Gay marriage, abortion, atheism, and other anti-christian philosophies are being forced down our collective throats and submissively accepted by this countries population all in the name of tolerance and a fear of being labeled a racist! The world is in a state of turmoil and it’s happening as the Bible states, I suggest you read it!

Like what?

Like the sudden storm that hit the east coast on 30 June. In the words of Maryland Governor, we were hit with hurricane winds without the warning. Cumberland, Salem and Atlantic counties in NJ were devastated. Some people are still without power.

I've lived a good number of years and I've never witnessed 80 mph plus winds that came out of nowhere and with absolutely no warning.

Personally, I would welcome the Second Coming of Christ over the possibility of Mitt or owe-bama being our next president.

Whatever's going to happen, bring it on! If nothing happens, that's OK too.

You suggest I read it? I suggest you take your own advice.

God’s Word details very specific events that must take place before Christ returns. Chief among them the False Prophet and the AntiChrist must come. I see lots of lesser false prophets and antichrists but I see neither the False Prophet nor the AntiChrist.

Wrong. You go straight to the Big Guy yourself - that is how HE wants it.

John 14:6 Jesus answered, I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

I just love religious gobbledy-gook. What does that mean? How does one "pour out His Spirit"?

I would caution you against referring to the Holy Spirit in such manner.

Luke 12:1, 10 NIV
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

But to answer your specific question, I'll cite the following verses.

Acts 2:2, 17-18 NIV
In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.

Revelation 13

5 The beast was given a mouth to utter proud words and blasphemies and to exercise its authority for forty-two months. 6 It opened its mouth to blaspheme God, and to slander his name and his dwelling place and those who live in heaven. 7 It was given power to wage war against God’s holy people and to conquer them. And it was given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation.

11 Then I saw a second beast, coming out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb, but it spoke like a dragon. 12 It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.

Bearing in mind that in scriptural symbology, horns denote power/authority, and therefore one who bears the horns of a lamb, but speaks as a dragon, is one who bears outwardly the signs of Christian power and authority, but whose mouth speaks lies under the power of Satan.

Decide for yourself.

The false prophet is islam’s mahdi, and their anti-christ is the Dajjal, who is actually Jesus returned in his crucified body, look it up, it’s quite fascinating, the description of the Dajjal fits! The Bible states that what’s right will be considered wrong, and what’s wrong will be considered right, that’s Islam and to some extent the Democrat’s platform in a nutshell. I believe we are living in the end times! Also, look at Rabbi, Yitzchak Kaduri’s prophecy with regards to Ariel Sharon, I apologize for being so blunt with regards to what you have read in the Bible, sorry, thanks for the reply, I hope I’m wrong, it’s just I see a lot happening in the world that things are coming to a head. I firmly believe that the Koran and the Bible are two sides of the same coin, one good, which is the Bible, and the other evil, the Koran, in order to understand revelations, one must examine the Koran, it all goes back to Abraham’s attempted sacrifice of Issac, the Jews believe it was Issac, as it was, and the muslims believe it was Ishmael who was taken to be sacrificed by Abraham, it was not, this is the root of the hatred between Jews and muslims as stated in the Bible and the divergence of good and evil in the world to some extent.

I have no doubt we are living in the last days, but I don’t see some of the specific signs Christ told us about. I put no weight in the 12.21.2012 theories for two reasons. First, no one but the Father knows the hour. Second, too much must happen before 12.21.2012 for it to be a realistic timeframe.

I have been looking into Islam. I’m interested in any documentation you care to share. (Send me a FRmail.) When you say “their antichrist,” what do you mean? Are you saying that’s what’s written in the Koran? Are you saying they have a separate AntiChrist from the one foretold in the Bible?

RE: There’s just seems to be too much stuff happening too fast.

Like what?

****************************

Good question. When I wrote the comment I wasn’t thinking about the Mayan calendar or some of the other “predictions” listed in the article. To be honest, I barely scanned the article, but got the gist of it and thought I’d post the article as a (for what it’s worth) just before I went to bed last night.

By the way, I don’t believe any of these “ancient predictions,” save for what is actually written in the Holy Bible.

Actually I was thinking more about actual events around the world and at home that we hear about daily. To me the rapidity at which we are bombarded with so many dire news stories indicates to me that something is going on in the world. It appears to me that the foolish/crazies are multiplying and just keep getting crazier. They keep electing crazier leaders who then appoint crazier “czars” who push their every crazier agendas which are readily embraced by the sheep they are supposed to be serving. I’m not just thinking of the good old USA, but political, economic, military and religious, etc. events around the world.

Perhaps I’m suffering from news overload, or maybe I spend too much time here on FR. Maybe I should turn off the radio, TV & PC and close the blinds and just let BHO take care of everything, but he has clearly demonstrated that he is incapable of doing anything except scamming about half of the American population.

I was going to try starting a list, but I’m pressed for time and will be out of the office the rest of the day. Gotta run!!

I’m still trying to find someone who can tell me the exact time and date of the next Rapture-op.

Next?

There was only one, and it happened years ago. No one noticed because only about 3000 people worldwide disappeared.

That's like less than 1 for every city.

The Mayan year of 2012 ended over a year ago. Seems they didn’t know about leap years.

Exactly! But there is NO Mary involved is what I was responding to.

WE who are 'in Christ' go directly to The Father. As Jesus taught those who believed HIM, Our Father Who art........

Jesus doesn't have a crucified body but a spiritual body. It is Finished It is THE TRUTH, look it up!

If you want TRUTH, you go to the source of ALL TRUTH, God/HIS WORD.

No, that’s not true, Jesus’ had a physical body and He appeared before his disciples in it: Matthew 28:1-15 “The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. 7 Then go quickly and tell his disciples: ‘He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.’ Now I have told you.” No, nothing is finished until Jesus returns, the way to the truth is not through God, but his son Jesus Christ, Jesus took over the throne from His Father the Creator, so, Jesus is the truth, and the Bible states He will return just as He left!

You are right, it is becoming harder to discern the truth: Isa 5:20 KJV “Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
So, you are right the day and time is not known, but the signs are, just as Jesus said! I firmly believe the Democrat platform is anti-christ in nature, and it is making it harder to discern what is good and what is evil, they embrace a platform that is an affront to God’s law and usurp it with the law of man, not good, and it’s why Jesus will return with an axe!
