Colorado Batman shooting shows obvious signs of being staged.

... Intro Stuff....

There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated. His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three).

Suggesting that someone zombied the shooter into it.

Color me skeptical, he probably was capable of getting himself into that mischief all on his lonesome, but who knows if he had a sidekick.

Funny stuff. Couldn’t get past the first paragraph.

“There is already conjecture that James Holmes may have been involved in mind-altering neuroscience research and ended up becoming involved at a depth he never anticipated.”

O RLY? Any sources? Preferably not ramblings from nutty blogs.

“His actions clearly show a strange detachment from reality, indicating he was not in his right mind. That can only typically be accomplished through drugs, hypnosis or trauma (and sometimes all three).”

You seem to forget good all fashioned insanity.

Anyway, good stuff.

That would be dirt on the level of when the CIA slipped LSD into innocents’ drinks in order to observe what they’d do. (The plan was outed and they were sued up the wazoo.)

The shooter was on a government research grant (about PTSD, in fact), but that’s run of the mill stuff for universities. The facts seem to say this was a plain loon, whose own mom saw him going loony.

Doing that can be virtually impossible if mad babblings is all that show of the insanity. A person has to be demonstrably bent on something irrationally dangerous to self or others. Which he was, but it was a secret.

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/31293702/detail.html

snips:

The video showing Holmes speaking at a science camp at Miramar College in San Diego when he was 18.

Holmes’ presentation is on “temporal illusion,” which he defines as “an illusion that allows you to change the past.” In the video, he said he studies subjective experience, calling it “what takes place inside the mind, as opposed to the external world.”

This is how he was explaining his mentor’s shared interest in fantasy versus reality in the video.
end snip

*******************

I wonder who the mentor was, and if they still played a part of this nutball. But I imagine just devoting himself to the subject could push him over the edge. Especially if he had a past he wanted changing. (Like tons of schooling and ending up at McDonalds).

Some folks dream of getting back at the kids in high school by being successful, good looking, etc. And others dream of nightmares.

And his mother was quoted as being unsurprised that her son was capable of something like this.

That is quite the statement considering what the man has done. I mean, it's not like he was driving fast and accidentally crashed the car killing everybody inside. If it was, I could understand a mother saying something like that.

I'm sure there will be more investigations into what his mom knew, when did she know it and why did she not report her suspicions to authorities.

Has nothing to do with her relationship to the man.

Continuing from CBS:

“He said pictures from inside the apartment are fairly disturbing and the devices look to be sophisticated, adding the booby-traps were ‘something I’ve never seen.’ One rifle, two handguns, a knife, a bullet proof vest, a ballistic helmet, a gas device, a gas mask, military SWAT clothing and unidentified explosives were also found in Holmes’ car, a law enforcement source told CBS News. [Police Chief] Oates said Holmes wore a gas mask, a ballistic helmet and vest as well as leg, groin and throat protectors during the shooting.”

Added on July 22nd: “He allegedly wore a helmet, a throat guard, a ballistic vest, ballistic leggings and gloves and was dressed in black.”

In other words, this guy was equipped with exotic gear by someone with connections to military equipment. SWAT clothing, explosives, complex booby-traps... c’mon, this isn’t a “lone gunman.” This is somebody who was selected for a mission, given equipment to carry it out, then somehow brainwashed into getting it done.

“Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said Holmes’ apartment is booby-trapped with a ‘sophisticated’ maze of flammable devices. It could take hours or days for authorities to disarm it,” reports Yahoo News

UPDATE: (This section added to the story Saturday at 2:30 pm central, July 21, 2012). It is now being reported that exotic, advanced booby-traps have been disarmed at the apartment of James Holmes. The Denver affiliate of CBS News is now reporting:

Officials say they have removed all major threats at the booby-trapped apartment of the Aurora movie theater shooting suspect on Saturday. They have used a robot to go inside James Holmes’ apartment. ...They were able to disable a trip wire that was set to go off when the apartment door was opened. “This is some serious stuff that our team is dealing with...”

It is very difficult for one adult to have another adult committed. And once your kid is over 18 they are an adult.

Unlikely any CA judge would have involuntarily committed him at his parents’ petition since he was an adult, Holmes was no apparent threat to others, attending school out of California (at least on paper) and living on his own with grant money and unemployment assistance and ? without bothering other people or even really drawing their attention.

This guy was clever and competent enough to do everything he needed and planned within the law and under the radar

So dont blame his mother as a kneejerk reaction

Don’t know what to think of all this..... my question would be: since he had multiple big guns and was “wearing a gas mask, a ballistic helmet and vest as well as leg, groin and throat protectors”, how did he get into the theater? I read that he bought a ticket.

I can’t even get into a movie theater carrying a bag of popcorn and a bottle of water from home (rather than buy the expensive stuff at the concession stand).

How does one go about having a grown man "committed" pray tell? You make it sound so simple and easy.

If it weren't for HIPAA we'd know his medical history by now, which is probably the answer to all this.

It ain’t 1952 any more. We had a relative who walked around the house leaving droppings as they about their business. Because they could muster ten to fifteen minutes of sane conversation at a time, they were able to talk their way out of being considered incompetent.

It took a year to go through the process to have them force ably committed. And...it cost several thousand dollars.

Too many folks were having their parents committed, and the old folks got together to change the rules.

The best you would ever get without the BIG process is about 48 hours, tops.

As the old saying goes, “forewarned is forearmed”, and the man’s mother does appear to show that she did have a good deal of forewarning. That’s all I meant by that. And I agree that there is a huge amount of stuff that the left doesn’t want the public to see and hear vis-à-vis this catastrophe, but it’s going to get out anyway . . .

From what i saw on Fox News, conversations with witnesses, he bought a ticket, was seated near the front row, took out his phone as if he had received a call and went out the side exit door, but somehow propped it open and returned in the body armor and started the rampage. They interviewed several who were seated behind him near the front of the theater.

No. Nothing he was wearing, nothing he was using, nor anything that has been reported as him owning requires any leap into fantasy as to it's origins. Do an internet search for body armor as an example.

All it takes to get this stuff is money...and that's as easy as running up a few credit cards. Who cares about a credit score if you are going to end up in prison or the morgue?

I’m not sure what to say about his collection of weapons...
AR-15, Rem 870 12 guage, Glock 9, Glock 40...

Seems too perfect. This is the stereotypical dream collection right there if you could only buy 4 guns.

I’d like to know who he was talking to on the phone. Could be he had called his mother and told her what he was going to do. Not much she could do within the timeframe even if she believed him. The police were able to contact his parents rather quickly so it could be all they had to do is check the last number called.

What strikes me as odd is that he had to pre-position his stuff somewhere. He took all the body armor and put it in place. He took his weapons, and put them in place. All of that had to be done secretly, and it probably took multiple little trips. And he had to trust that his thousands of dollars of equipment wasn't going to be spotted. He had to get in line to buy his ticket, file into the theater and sit in the front row until the moment was right, all the while thinking, "I hope no one is taking my stuff."

I don't know if he had help, but it seems like doing this alone would have been challenging.

Very, very well planned, from booby trapping his apartment before he left, down to leaving the odd caliber pistol in the car so he wouldn’t get the mags mixed up.

Definitely not a dummy, but definitely a product of the Luciferian anti-life culture.

People talk about the left exploiting this for the election, but I honestly believe they have held back. Think about Gabby Gifford and how they blamed Palin, for crying out loud!

My first thought is "Schizophrenic with psychotic break."

Usually those types have political delusions as well as any other. I expect we'll be hearing that this nutcase could be seen with the Occupiers.

And all this "don't exploit for political gain" is really them begging our side not to take advantage.

And we absolutely should take as much advantage as is effective. Absolutely.

I have no doubt that he could have done it 199% on his own. First, he has a very high IQ: phi beta kappa in a “hard science.” So figuring out things like incendiary booby traps would be a snap. As far as the money needed, it’s a non-issue. If you knew you would be dead or in jail in 3 months, you could just use a half-dozen credit cards and run up your bills. Who cares about paying it off down the road? And if he had had help or training, he would NOT have used a 100 round jamamatic magazine, but would have practiced changing 100% reliable standard 30 round mags.

I personally think it was a ploy to look like he was taking a phone call so he could exuse himself out the emergency exit. My guess it that no one was on the other line. In his planning, he probably wondered how he could leave without drawing susupicion and figured a phone call would do that.

I don't know if he had help, but it seems like doing this alone would have been challenging.

As I understand he purchased his ticket earlier – could have even purchased on-line, he probably came into the theater looking just like any other movie goer, then before the movie started, pretended to take a phone call and went out a side exit door, propping it open somehow or even perhaps telling someone sitting next to him or near the door “Hey, I’ve got to take this phone call, when I tap on the door, would you let me back in?” then he went to his car where he had stashed everything, got into his gear, got his guns and ammo then went back inside the theater. And since there were a number of people dressed up as Batman movie characters he probably didn’t look all that out of place.

As far as his “thousands” of dollars of equipment, he had a semi-automatic rifle, a shotgun and two pistols, some sort of smoke bomb or tear gas canister, with some holsters, straps and a few pockets, that doesn’t sound like an insurmountable amount of equipment for one person to carry.

The “exotic gear” is all available on the internet if you look around. The 100 round mag tells me he did NOT have help, or the helpers would have steered him away from those jamamatics. The booby traps they “never saw before” were original to him, a high-IQ science student. To be expected from a guy with no training or “help” in demolitions. The only things not readily available on the internet are CS grenades, we’ll have to wait to see how he found or created them. Everything else, you could have ordered and shipped to your house UPS or FedEx in three days.

This morning’s web posts indicate the shooter had a $26,000/year fellowship, but at the end of last year (a couple of months ago), his college professor met with his peers at an after-finals pizza bash. The shooter was absent sparking inquiries from his peers who were told by the professor that the shooter had resigned from the fellowship because he couldn’t keep up academically.

This implies the school had forced the hand of the shooter to resign his fellowship, but will claim he resigned on his own.

If true, then this probably occurred about the same time the shooter was starting to buy the handguns. Employment opportunities for an undergrad in neuroscience who drops out of grad school probably aren’t very high. He already had suffered the labeling as a loser, when he might have been giving all he had.

News reports this morning also indicate the only reason he was captured was that his groin and neck protection wasn’t usually worn by the Aurora responders. I suspect he was wearing them as camouflage to walk away unidentified in the mayhem.

You dress in black, like half of the movie goers. You park your car (illegally but who cares about a ticket) just yards from the emergency exit. All of your tactical gear is staged in the trunk, in the order of strapping it on. You leave the theater and put a piece of duct tape over the latch mechanism, go to the trunk, put on your gear, and return within two minutes.

This does not take the CIA to pull off. Remember, this kid may be a loon, but he’s a very high IQ loon. Phi Beta Kappa in a hard science, on merit scholarship.
