The United States on Monday warned Syria not "to even consider using chemical weapons" after Damascus threatened to employ its unconventional arms in the case of outside intervention.
"They should not think one iota about using chemical weapons," Pentagon press secretary George Little told reporters. "We have been very strong in our statements inside the US government on the prospective use of chemical weapons and it would be entirely unacceptable," Little said. His comments came after Syria acknowledged it has chemical weapons and said it would use them if attacked, though not against its own civilians. The warning by Syrian foreign ministry spokesman Jihad Makdissi comes as Syrian president Bashar al-Assad finds itself fighting desperately pitched battles in Damascus and Aleppo with rebels. "When chemical weapons are mentioned in the press by Syrian officials, that raises concerns," Little said. "We would strongly object -- to put it mildly -- to any thinking that would generate a motivation on the part of the Syrian regime to employ these weapons," he added. The White House said on Sunday that the United States would "hold accountable" any Syrian official involved in the release or use of the country's chemical weapons. Little's remarks come on the heels of a round of meetings between Israeli and US officials on Monday over the deteriorating situation in Syria.

He might use chemical weapons.
If he does so against Israel, then we'll get to see some prophecy fulfilled right in front of our eyes:
"The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap." Isaiah 17:1
I’ve been a watchin.
Make note the last couple paragraphs in this recent article coming out of Israel:
Israel Needs A Preemptive Nuclear Strike Against Iran
That'll tell 'em. Who hires these pansies to speak for the US military?
Perhaps Obama will pull and “Jimmy Carter” move and not let the U.S. Team go to the Olympics!! That will certainly “show Syria “ whose boss!!
“General officers are nominated for promotion by the President of the United States, and confirmed by the Senate.”
....And no one seems to care where all these WMD’s came from.
Ooooh, they’re really quaking in their boots now.
Ignore my previous post.
We discussed this passage yesterday in Sunday school. Notice that v.6 ends "Says YHVH Elohim Yisrael", says the Lord God of Israel! This is the only passage where this expression is used. Assad, Morsi and the other clowns better listen.
"Baliff, whack his ...!"
“We would strongly object — to put it mildly — to any thinking that would generate a motivation on the part of the Syrian regime to employ these weapons,”
In other words, don’t you dare provoke Assad. If he slimes you with nerve gas, it’s because your thinking provoked him, and we’ll strongly object to you thinking those thoughts that made him use chemical weapons.
They were not worried about the WMD when Obama/Hillary started their plan to topple Assad 18 months ago ?
They were not worried about the WMD when the Muslim Brotherhood tried to assassinate Assad and failed ?
Only when Syria admits to the world that they have the WMD, that is when the US leadership begins to worry ?
This is starting to make Alice in Wonderland look more real.
Fuhgedaboutit, Send Pelosi over. I seem to remember her on her knees with the nutjob in Syria.. She can “Deal” with them.
Maybe I’m missing something here. Who’s talking about attacking Syria? No one, as far as I can tell. Then why did we respond as we did? Our response should have been that Syria would have no need to use those weapons as no one is planning to attack them - or at least the US is not planning on attacking.
...unless we are - but does Obama REALLY want a bloodbath just before the election?
BFD, exactly WHAT will the USA do about it AFTER it is released?
