Bloomberg Suggests Police Stop Protecting People Until Gun Control Enacted

Appearing as a guest on Monday's Piers Morgan Tonight, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg recommended that America's police officers should go on strike and refuse to protect people until gun control legislation which would allegedly make them safer is enacted. Bloomberg:

(Video can be found here.)

Well, I would take it one step further. I don't understand why the police officers across this country don't stand up collectively and say we're gonna go on strike, we're not gonna protect you unless you, the public, through your legislature, do what's required to keep us safe.

I think the police and body guards of Major Commie Idiot Bloomberg go on strike until he resigns as Mayor and STFU.

“Any police officer in Texas who did such a thing would be unemployed..”

From my understanding (from several LEO that I know) police are prohibited from going on strike. Bloomidiot knows that....

Police do not protect you they just draw a white line around your corpse.

I guess you could say they turn you into a "corpseman."

“When seconds count, police are just minutes away. Well, sometimes 30 minutes.”

We had an incident near our house — the cops show up 35 minutes later. All I had at that time was my little bolt action .22.
The cop told me that I ought to buy a better firearm because they are usually not in our part of the county. Next day, I purchased my Remington 870 followed shortly by my XD40.

Bloomberg has obviously been drinking too many giant sized sodas and his brain is fried.

And, there was a commentator on CNN last week who wrote that the GOP should select Bloomberg as VP, that it would ‘cinch’ the election.

Last time I called the cops, it took them 40 minutes to show up.

The cops already don’t protect me. That is why I carry a gun.

Fine.

You first, Bloomie. Send your protective detail home. Write layoff notices for the entire NYPD.

LOL!

Bloomberg is so damn out of touch. Hey Bloomie, cops come to the scene of a crime to write the report and call for the meat wagon.

It is up to each individual to protect themselves and their families.

The corollary is laws don’t stop crime they only define the infraction and prescribe punishments.

Great idea. I’ll be able to drive from Houston to Austin in an hour.

No ... he banned those, and caffeine deprivation has given him a bigger than usual (for him) case of the stupids. He's stuck on stupid.

He should have stopped at "I don't understand..."

OK, so what's Bloomie's excuse? NYC has had gun control since the Sullivan law in 1911. And the NYC police still aren't protecting people -- as shown by the couple of hundred homicides that have occured in NYC so far in 2012.

http://projects.nytimes.com/crime/homicides/map/

He's mayor of NEW YORK, not mayor of Aurora, Colorado. If the people of Aurora, Colorado want NYC-style gun control, they'll elect people to enact NYC-style gun control laws. Bloomberg is delusional. There must be something in the water of that little island that makes people impervious to common sense.

Yup. Ambulances, fire department and police show up AFTER you fail to defend yourself. ‘Course, sometimes the coroner shows up BECAUSE you defended yourself. :-)

Bloomberg is fairly wealthy, right?

Did he inherit it because statements like this lead me to believe he doesn’t have enough intelligence or common sense to manage any job beyond one that asks “Do you want fries with that?”

Hey Bloomberg, you idiot, if you take the guns out of the hands of the 99% of responsible gun owners, who’s going to be left with the guns? Duh!
