Newt Gingrich, appearing with Jim VandeHei and Mike Allen on POLITICO Live's Driving the Day this morning, defended Rep. Michele Bachmann for asking questions about the Muslim Brotherhood - and declined to hit his former presidential rival for raising questions about Hillary Rodham Clinton aide Huma Abedin.
"There werent allegations, there was a question," Gingrich told VandeHei and Allen, adding, "the question ought to be asked across the board" about the Muslim Brotherhood's relationship with and goals in the U.S. are.
When it was pointed out to him that other Republicans, such as Sen. John McCain and House Speaker John Boehner, have hit Bachmann for a form of a witch hunt, he said, "I think those folks are wrong...what is it they're afraid of learning?"

michelle bachmann is a patriot for raising legit questions about humma wiener!
Good for Newt.
Bachmann is right and Newt is right to support her.
Say it Newt! I heard Beck telling everyone to call Boehner’s office today and tell him to lay off Bachmann. McCain’s office too.

The state department has an agenda seems counter to US sovereignty and interests — Soros influence, pushes UN treaties, massive transfer of wealth to Muslim countries, they even were sponsoring the advocate of NY 911 mosque and his book.
Don’t live in MN. Is Michele OK for campaign money? It’s obvious she will need to defend herself against slimes as well as her opponent.
As Ann Coulter so deftly pointed out: McCarthy was right.
Bottom line, if Michele can grow up, I can probably support her.
I sent McCain a piece of my mind, some of which I couldn’t repeat on this web site... gave him my contact info to... we’ll see if his office gives me a call to ask for civility... civility gave us Obama, he’ll get none from me...
Oh how badly I wish Newt were our candidate, rather than that lying liberal mormon dude.
The answer to that is; McLame is a backstabbing scumbag who has tried to arm muzzie terrorists and Boenher is a wimp.
McCarthy was right... and stupid liberals continue to bash him for being wrong.
They are completely isolated from the facts of this world.
Michele should run for Speaker!
I guarantee you if an aide to a member of a Republican admin had come from a family of Tea Party activists, the libs would howling for a complete investigation. But since Huma comes from a family of whom many members would like Islam to dominate the world, we’ll just look the other way and castigate anyone who asks questions. I don’t know, Huma might be totally free of Islamist tendencies. But she comes from a family that is infected with them. No harm in investigation.
I agree. IMHO, we had too many hats in the GOP primary. The ABR vote got split and so we got R. Bachmann would have been better off supporting Newt in his bid from the start. Hopefully, this is the start of some future 'coalitions'.
That their secret multi-million dollar offshore Saudi retirement accounts are being administered by the same people who promote world terrorism on a grand scale? Or that those accounts might magically disappear if they don't display enough vigor in hiding that Saudi-terror connection from the American public?
easy to see those in elected office crtical of Mechelle Bachman for just doing her job are anti-American, even Speaker Bonehead. They are the reason this country is in dire straits. Every damned one of them need to be tossed out of office ASAP.
She's a formidable fundraiser, but she'll be tested this time more than ever. Her opponent is entrepeneur Jim Graves, founder of AmericInns and Graves Hotel Management, who has a personal net worth of over $100 Mil. But then, since we've been told he didn't build that himself, maybe he won't be so tough after all. (/sarc.)
Beck said on his show this morning that if Bachmann didn’t apologize today that Boehner was going to kick her off the intelligence committee. I can’t find that story anywhere online. Anyone have a story on that?
How bout we just have Michele Bachmann take Boehner’s place as speaker.
Just called him and rubio
Frank Gaffney has said for a long time that the Muslim Brotherhood has its tentacles just as deeply in the GOP is it does in the democrat party.
The current GOP behavior isn’t encouraging.
Have you seen the new Progressive Ins. Ad with FLO? She is sitting behind a microphone which is being transmitted to EVERYWHERE, offices, streets, etc. everywhere.
She speaks and Everyone stops what they are doing, and look up at the TV set broadcasting her message, (shades of what is to come, shades of 1984?). When she is finished telling the people whatever, she then basically says back to work.
This ad is very creepy. Now back to the subject at hand.
We are certainly seeing who the statesmen are and who the traitors are. Nice to see Newt and Bachmann standing up for us.
I agree. He does stand for truth and can’t be swayed by ‘his peers’. AMERICA FIRST, LAST and ALWAYS.
Great tagline! I fully subscribe to it.
I agree with your post 100% too.
I would have supported America instead of the GOP-e, I would have voted for Newt.
Good for Newt
Message to McCain....
Stop acting like a traitor and support Michelle Bachman and the others who are asking legitimate questions about the Muslim Brotherhood and certain persons working in government. We are NOT stupid.
Thank you Michelle and the other Congressmen that look out for our interests. It was a question, and it was supposed to stay within committee. Way to gp, mcCain. but now that is in the open....just what are the risks? And how the HELLL did Valerie Jarrett get a clearance?
I used to take a reasonable stance when it came to our government, both sides. Could they have done better, sure. Are there bad apples that can be elected out? Sure. Do they overall act in the best interests of the governed...mostly.
But after the last 4-5 years, watching the last election cycle, this administration and lastly, the demasking of the Republican elite, I am so disgusted and fed up.
We need fresh blood, fresh air and leadership. Precious few in D.C. now are capable..McCain should have gone a long time ago and I’m sorry I ever voted for him (even though it was for Sarah). Go Bachman, Rush, Newt, West and others who do care where we are headed. eff the PC crap or those tootsies that may be stepped on. I have HAD it.
Too bad Bachmann attacked Newt over the phony Fanny Mae issue
during the debates
I’m so proud of Michelle! She’s a real patriot and I loved her run for the presidency. Hope she tries again.
Here is one story:
McLame and Boner
