In a memo, DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse outlines aggressive response to BS Romney claim.
DNC Communications Director Brad Woodhouse outlined an all-out response to Mitt Romney's attack on President Obama over his "You didn't build this" line which the president and independent fact checkers have said has been taken out of context.
"In conjunction with OFA, we're going to turn the page tomorrow on Mitt Romney's trumped up, out of context fact-checked-to-death BS about the President and small business and set the record straight on how Mitt Romney has a horrible record on small business." Woodhouse said in a memo sent to BuzzFeed, saying there will be on-the-ground events across the country including in Massachusetts to rebut Romney's attack.
The memo follows an ad from Obama rebutting the Romney campaign's version of what the president said.
The Romney campaign has maintained that the context only makes the original quote worse, but regardless, their attack clearly has Democrats worried Obama has twice in two days responded to it himself.

You can always tell when you’ve hit a nerve cause they start squealing like stuck pigs. Poll internals must show this is KILLING him.
—Taking the comment out of context is doing Bam-Bam a favour ... the comment is far worse in context.—
The "you didn't build this business" remark by Obama could be fatal to his re-election and his people know it. That is why they are desperately trying to get Romney to back off this particular line of attack.
Romney would be advised to make sure every American sees that clip in a TV ad at least 100 times between now and the election. This is the best Republican campaign gift since Mike Dukakis rode around in a tank with a helmet two sizes too big and his name written in magic marker across on on a piece of masking tape - like his mother was sending him to summer camp.
While connecting the "we build it so you can prosper" ideal of centralized government.
Perhaps better to insert lines from Das Kapital or The Communist Manifesto. Would anybody even notice the difference?
Put it that way, it really brought home how offensive Obama’s remarks was.
You are talking to a guy who will never apologize for anything and never admit he’s wrong and never take the blame for anything. Of course he’ll double down on stupid.
Your whole sentence is exactly right.
Whenever this guy gets up and speaks without a teleprompter, one of the following two things invariably ends up happening: (1) he delivers a rambling pile of nonsense that doesn't even make sense when it is parsed and examined later (see his idiotic comments at that NATO summit last year); or (2) he reverts back to his "natural" form -- his Marxist/race-baiter/community organizer mode -- and says something that makes even his staunchest supporters cringe.
For the latter, I offer his recent "you didn't build that" quote and his infamous "cops acted stupidly" comment in the aftermath of the Henry Louis Gates incident as perfect cases in point.
Romney has a lot of material to work with. On the list should be an ad showing the number of bankrupt, federally-subsidized "green energy" companies, showing how much tax money they got, and how much they gave to Dems.
There’s and old saying - when you’re in a hole, stop digging. Democrats don’t seem to understand that concept.
Here is how I think Romney should take advantage of the fact that the democrats seem to want to prolong their misery regarding this issue. If the democrats run ads claiming Romney has taken Obama out of context, they should respond by running an ad that starts out with an announcer saying:
“The Obama campaign claims that we took his recent comments in Roanoke regarding small business people out of context. Following is a lengthy excerpt of the Obama speech in question - 20 seconds before and after the quote we originally played in our ad. You decide if we took his comment out of context.”
Then play the excerpt and watch Obama sink further in the polls.
Don’t believe your own ears, you are to stupid to understand the nuances the President uses.
America Hating DNC
I saw a clip of Obama denouncing Romney for “twisting” his words and insinuating that Romney was being dishonest. That took chutzpah on his part.
Here’s what Obama said:
“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”
OBAMA: Look, i-i-if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own.
OBAMA: You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, “Well, it must be because I was just so smart!”
OBAMA: There are a lot of smart people out there. “It must be because I worked harder than everybody else.” Let me tell you something. There are a whole bunch of hardworkin’ people out there!
OBAMA: If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help!
OBAMA: There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.
OBAMA: Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges! If you’ve got a business, you — you didn’t build that!
OBAMA: Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.
OBAMA: Earlier in the day, Governor Romney was at it again: Knowingly twisting my words around to suggest that I don’t value small businesses. I understand these are the games that get played in political campaigns. Although, you know, when folks just, like, omit entire sentences of what you said —
OBAMA: — they start kind of splicing and dicing.
Here’s the next thing that Obama said...
OBAMA: I believe that the free market is the greatest source of prosperity in our history. But I also believe that if you talk to any business owner, they’ll tell you that what also helps them succeed — alongside all their hard work, all their great ideas — is the ability to hire workers with the right skills and education.
OBAMA: What helps them succeed is the ability to ship and sell their products on new roads and bridges and ports and wireless networks.
Your Socialist/Communist ideas don't work in a Society built on Freedom and they never will.
That deserves repeating.
This is meant to appeal to his base; parasites, welfare rats, ignoramuses with puffed up "self-esteem", and union drones doing slow and sloppy work while hiding behind hidebound rules and making far more money than they are worth and who want to pull down the "bosses" and anybody else who ever did an honest days work.
He's stoking the envious, the slothful, and those who think the world (or the government) owes them because they are so special. And if they don't get what they are convinced they're due, they are either going to tear everything down and get it or somehow vote somebody in who will do it for them!
Of course, Obama and the Liberals are those guys.
You nailed it.

“The condescending sneer”
makes me want to deck his *ss!
In his case, it’s true. His whole life is an example of an affirmative action token. His whole political career up until presidential candidate was taking the opposition out before he had to actually run against them. McCain hardly changed that, he was too afraid of being called a rayciss to actually run as the opposition. As much as I despise her, I have to say one thing for Hillary Clinton-she actually ran against the affirmative action putz, and the rat primary showed it in its vehemence and no-holds-barred dirtiness. Hilary was probably the first (and to date, the only) person who actually ran against him and either meant it or didn’t get taken out before a real campaign. Hussein actually had to run against her, and it showed.
Yeah, look how well all that infrastucture in Detroit has been in holding/attracting business, in spite of all the taxpayer money that’s been poured into that city. Well at least they have really nice library chairs.
I don’t understand how, after everything that this man has written and said, so-called “moderates”, “swing voters”, and “undecideds” don’t know that he’s a socialist redistributionist, at the least. Even if they could dismiss one or two statements, how can they dismiss a whole lifetime’s pattern? And all of it hasn’t been suppressed by the MSM, like his words about wealth redistribution to Joe the Plumber. What’s so hard to understand about it when he has a whole lifetime of words and associates pointing to his socialism?
So in essence, they are framing the presidential debate as “Was Obama lying then or is he lying now. Or both.”
Seems like a brilliant strategy to me. /rollseyes
