REVEALED: Corzine's MF Global Was Client of Eric Holder's Law Firm
Breitbart ^ | July 26, 2012 | Wynton Hall

Posted on 07/26/2012 3:20:21 PM PDT by arasina

Those wondering why the Department of Justice has refused to go after Jon Corzine for the vaporization of $1.6 billion in MF Global client funds need look no further than the documents uncovered by the Government Accountability Institute that reveal that the now-defunct MF Global was a client of Attorney General Eric Holder and Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer’s former law firm, Covington & Burling. There’s more.

Records also reveal that MF Global’s trustee for the Chapter 11 bankruptcy retained as its general bankruptcy counsel Morrison & Foerester--the very law firm from which Associate Attorney General Tony West came to DOJ.

And more.

No wonder Obama claimed executive privilege in Fast and Furious. There's a lot of worms in this can, IMO.

We need an Elliot Ness as portrayed by Kevin Costner to go ‘Nitty’ on these bastards.

When you see that trading is done, not by consent, but by compulsion - when you see that in order to produce, you need to obtain permission from men who produce nothing - when you see that money is flowing to those who deal, not in goods, but in favors - when you see that men get richer by graft and by pull than by work, and your laws don’t protect you against them, but protect them against you - when you see corruption being rewarded and honesty becoming a self-sacrifice - you may know that your society is doomed.

That's all true, except that I disagree with Ayn Rand in that I believe a new and better society can rise from the ashes. It's actually not a "new" society so much as it is a return to the moral one based on Christian principles.

A nation can survive its fools and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and he carries his banners openly against the city. But the traitor moves among those within the gates freely, his sly whispers rustling through all alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears no traitor; he speaks in the accents familiar to his victim, and he wears their face and their garments and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation; he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city; he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. The traitor is the plague. The traitor is Obama and his administration.

Oh absolutely it went to Corzine, and it was intended to be used as walking-around money (after Corzine took his cut).

This federal criminal syndicate in Washington is beyond saving, only Thomas Jefferson's wisdom regarding the watering of the Tree of Liberty will save us now. It can no longer be 'business as usual' because business as usual means we continue our descent into darkness and a long night of 100 years or more of tyranny.

God help us. God save America.

I am uncomfortable with this whole "bundling" thing. It used to be that we rarely heard of it (Xing Wu, Chinatown bundler for Hillary Clinton who got arrested) and now it is ubiquitous and made out to be a good thing. (thanks, McStain)

The bundling process reminds me too much of the mortgage scandal. [brain freeze - cannot remember what the equivalent is called - has to do with selling bad loans] They share the same "principle". Travis McGee is right; it's gangster government.

When you look up the term “political incest” in a political dictionary, you will find a picture of Eric Holder.

Also, when you look up the term “racist”, there’s his picture again.

He sure does get around. I hope the next time he gets around it is in a 6 X 10’ jail cell.

Scandal after after scandal heaped upon more scandals that reach to the moon, and Obama The Oppressive and his merry band of political gangsters are still standing. Nothing that gets exposed betwixt now and November will matter, and maybe they even welcome sideshows that deflect attn away from the collapsing economy. Wouldn’t surprise me.

Thanks. I was trying to think of sub-prime derivatives when I had the brain freeze. Your post caused it to thaw. ;-)

I guess the only thing derivatives have in common with "bundling" of political donations is that they both are pooled "money" so transactions could feasibly be hidden in either one.

Dr. Jedidiah Morse* describes just such a time in our own history in the following excerpt from an Election Sermon delivered in Charlestown, April 25, 1799, from the Bible text, If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? (Psalm 11:3).

Our dangers are of two kinds, those which affect our religion, and those which affect our government. They are, however, so closely allied that they cannot, with propriety, be separated. The foundations which support the interests of Christianity, are also necessary to support a free and equal government like our own. In all those countries where there is little or no religion, or a very gross and corrupt one, as in Mahometan and Pagan countries, there you will find, with scarcely a single exception, arbitrary and tyrannical governments, gross ignorance and wickedness, and deplorable wretchedness among the people.
To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoy.

In proportion as the genuine effects of Christianity are diminished in any nation, either through unbelief, or the corruption of its doctrines, or the neglect of its institutions; in the same proportion will the people of that nation recede from the blessings of genuine freedom, and approximate the miseries of complete despotism. I hold this to be a truth confirmed by experience. If so, it follows, that all efforts made to destroy the foundations of our holy religion, ultimately tend to the subversion also of our political freedom and happiness. Whenever the pillars of Christianity shall be overthrown, our present republican forms of government, and all the blessings which flow from them, must fall with them..

That’s what we’re encouraged to think. The corruption involves both parties in nearly equal measure. The elites in both parties both use government to take from America.
