Anyone who visits this website, with any amount of frequency, has seen Posts and comments re: the candidacy of Virgil Goode for President on the Constitution Party ticket. I agree that the Constitution Party is AWESOME!!!! I wish they were a Major Party. After 2012, I'd love to see a movement, by Conservatives, to make that their "Party of choice". But, I don't see that happening before November 6, 2012. Now, my poll question for ALL FReepers is this:
Do you think that Virgil Goode will pull enough votes from Romney in the Battleground States such as FL, VA, OH, MI, WI and IA to cost Romney the Election?
I'm not wanting to start any brawls; I'm just curious. A "Yes" or "No" will be fine with a brief comment.
Thanks,
pistolpackinpapa
No.
No, a bad economy will sink Obama, Goode or no Goode.
No. But only if those people actually see Obama as much of a threat as they’ve been saying the past 4 years and not toss a vote to some nobody so they can feel good and “teach lessons”.
Even without Goode’s support measured, Romney is getting beaten rather soundly in Ohio and Wisconsin. Hard to say about the other states, but Romney has a major bit of work cut out for him.
No
“Romney is getting beaten rather soundly in Ohio and Wisconsin.”
According to what polls?

No, Mitt Romney will cost Mitt Romney the election.
To be honest, I hope so.
The only way the GOP is going to quit offering socialist (or at least reach-across-the-aisle) types is if they lose every time... and even then it’s a crap throw (the GOT, as a party, seems determined not to learn).
No. Not enough fools out there to vote for NutGoode.
This will be depended on how well he can contrast himself from Ubama.
But seeing how liberal his record has been, that will be quite the challenge.
No, but Romney could cost Romney the election.
Of course not. He is a trivial pretender, a wannabe of insignificant proportions.
Actually I kind of like the idea of taking the senate and watching them give Obama fits.
Romney is going to cost Romney the election. He doesn’t need any help.
No. He won’t even pull Paul’s numbers, and Paul’s own totals will be relatively tiny.
A third party candidate is the choice of a vindictive, hopeless fool.
IF Romney looses, it will be because the GOP-e did not listen and decided that the risk of pissing off the base and conservatives was not going to LOSE votes as much as gaining moderates and independents.
It was a clear calculation on their part. Any lose is squarely in their lap.
Bingo.
If there is a great deal of voter fraud....it might.
See post 18.
Yes, No....Maybe....
Not even a blip. Name recognition makes Ralph Nader look like a superstar. Just more attempt to tamp down the tsunami.
The 1pct or 2pct he takes will be offset by the green party wacko
It is possible. Romney’s liberal record makes his campaign rhetoric look like hypocrisy, which nobody likes.
The people voting for Goode were never going to vote for Romney or Obama under any circumstance, hence it is a moot question. If theh didn’t vote for Goode, it wouldn’t help Romney.
I have a rule. Never answer a stupid question. “Here’s your sign”.
Unfortunately Obama doesn’t need the House, Senate or Constitution. He does everything by EO’s and UN treaties.
No, this election is too dire to vote “Perot”
The Marxist must go - then we’ll deal with the RINO
Romney must hold onto his liberal base, but that makes it nearly impossible for him to compete for conservative votes.
Actually I kind of like the idea of taking the senate and watching them give Obama fits.

That won’t happen cripplecreek. Most GOP dudes are spineless. Mitch McConnell has already said that repealing ObamaCare is not an easy task. John Boehner already said that the House WILL fund ObamaCare. They voted to hold Eric Holder in Contempt of Congress. Is he in jail? Nah; he’s partying with Obama and Valerie Jarrett and laughing at the impotent clowns who have no balls in the GOP. I wish Boehner and Cantor both would be defeated this November.
I was just going to say that! A truth that Republican’s just will not hear.
The Independent Green Party of Virginia, according to Ballot Access News, put the single most third party candidates on the ballot for US House in Virginia, since 1916! Janet Murphy one of the Indy Greens advocating for More Trains, Less Traffic. Indy Greens advocate for more rail jobs! Solar jobs! Wind jobs! Renewable energy jobs! Geothermal jobs! Janet Murphy joined Virgil Goode at Train Day in Manassas, Virginia. The Independent Green Party calls for high speed rail across Virginia, and nationwide to save lives, and create jobs. Build Rail Now!

Exactly

I predicted many times on FR that if Romney was the R nominee, the Tea Party would have a candidate on the ballot in most red states and Baraq would win with a Clintonian plurality.
That didn’t happen.
There’s no national Tea Party candidate, just some fringers.
I don’t see Goode having any effect outside of Virginia.
Third party candidates who got serious numbers of votes like Anderson and Perot were getting big publicity well before Labor Day.
I’d guess outside of FR and Virginia, Virgil is about as well known as I am.
I’m not an “Establishment” guy by any means, but WE, the Conservatives are to blame for Romney being the GOP nominee. We ran 7 Conservatives who destroyed each other and Romney cake-walked to the nomination; just like McCain did in ‘08. When will we learn to unite behind one candidate early in the process? But then, it won’t happen because they’re all egomaniacs with visions of grandeur and will stay in the Primary process until the very last Conservative is DOA.
You're relying on Mitch McConnell to block Obama's ultra-Left appointments to the Supreme Court when Kennedy, Ginsburg, and Scalia die or retire? Good luck with that.
Our only hope of retaining some form of jurisprudence and government that respects freedom is to crush Obama and the Left in this election.
I guess I’m in a state-of-stupid this morning, but, I don’t understand your Post #29.
Ironic you should say that...
Virgil Goode: More Trains, Less Traffic
More Trains Less traffic Independent Green Party signatures help Virgil Goode file for President
I think Mitt Romney is going to cost Virgil Goode the election.

Well, the numbers don’t look good for Romney right now in OH and WI. But, we will deserve what we get on Nov. 6th. Let the good times roll baby.
Virgil Goode,,,, Virgil Goode....
Now that’s certainly a name recognizable enough to get maybe 4 of the “gravel brain” party votes!
Personally, I bet my best dog Tucker would do better.
Anyone that does not recognize the patriotic need to vote for the one candidate that has a realistic chance to replace nobama and dire consequence if nobmama gets reelected, needs o seriously tthink about the old hippy days saying of America, Love it or leave it”.
No. But he could hurt us in VA.
I do believe Goode will cause Romney to choke in Virginia. The race is supposedly 50/50 and since Goode is from a conservative district in Virginia, votes that Romney must get, it’s a real probability.
Heres the history of a typical anti Romney poster on Free Repbulic:
Im supporting Michelle Bachman
What! Bachman supports Romney! Shes a rhino
Im supporting Newt Gingrich.
What Gingrich supports Romney! Hes certainly a rhino
Im supporting Cain.
What Cain supports Romney! Hes a rhino, too.
Im support Santorum.
What Santorum supports Romney. He must have fallen, too
At least I have Palin.
What Palin says that shell support the republican candidate! Shes wacky.
At least we have Limbaugh. . . .dont we?
Those stupid Romney supporters. They are out to destroy the country. (sarcasm).
