"Compromise of 50% leaves 50%. Compromise of that leaves you 25 and so on. That is exactly how the GOP advances liberalism. And they do it because the Mittbots and appeasers in the ‘base’ clamor for it."

Thats great in theory, but what will happen if we all just stay home? Thats right, 4 more years of Obama.

Believe me, I hate the way things have gotten and its extremely frusterating to see the most liberal condidate get nominated every single time, but the alternative put up by the D's is always worse. Better a wishy-washy rino than a diehard communist fanatic. And thats our only choices.

It kills me to see these Romney supporters do what they are doing because the outcome is as obvious to me as the sun in the sky. The GOP is dead set determined to moderate their platform. They keep the old one around to point conservatives to, but they are governing well away from it’s direction.

That we even debate the Romney issue is unreal. Watching supposed conservative twist themselves into philosophical gordian knots to justify their support and intent to vote for a liberal blows my mind. And you just KNOW that once he wins, thanks to their abandonment of principle, they will be few and far between once the MASS Mitt returns to the Etch a Sketch board. At best, the brave ones will spout “Well Obama would have been worse” for the next 4 years.

If all these fairweather friends would man up and vote wor what they believe in rather than to win points in an unwinnable political game, they would then CONTROL the game. But instead, they’d rather mock you and other conservatives willing to jump in the breach.

Boy is THAT gonna help America...

Well, at least I know how to spell "fury."

If you're going to call folks "idiots" you'd better get an editor. I'm pretty sure spell-check wouldn't have caught that.

It’s not a theory. It’s a fact. And the results are a fact as well. You show me how anyone ‘wins’ through compromise and I’ll vote Romney. You show me how a conservative votes liberal without abandoning his beliefs to do so and I’ll vote Romney.

You show me how a person of faith votes for a hardcore abortion supporter/enabler and looks God in the eye saying “All those dead babies I empowered the Govt to send you cannot be held against me” and I’ll vote Romney.

Show me logically how empowering a liberal with Romney’s record is better than Tom or any other conservative running and I’ll vote Romney.

Until someone does, the problem is not me and those who share my beliefs. It’s the situational ethicists among the Republican and conservative movements that are and always will be the problem.

And the facts, AKA world history, bear that out.

Wow,two guys who won't garner a single Electoral vote between them. That's *sure* to be "must see TV".

Let's use your own logic, GSC. You live in Massachusetts. There isn't a snowball's chance that Romney will win in Massachusetts in a presidential election. Rasmussen lists Massachusetts as one of the bluest of blue states. He says that Obama has a 56-35 lead over Mitt, and that even though Romney was governor there, he is doing very poorly. Rasmussen, of course, uses likely voters, and a realistic party affiliation weighting. His numbers in Massachusetts are probably right on the money.

Therefore, you are throwing your vote away voting for Romney in Massachusetts. You know I'm right.

So, if you are suggesting that conservatives who vote for 3rd party candidates are throwing their vote away, then why are you pushing a candidate in Massachusetts who does not have a chance, who amounts to your throwing your vote away?

Your best bet, since Romney has zero chance in your state, is to vote your conservative principles for a real conservative. That way you would AT LEAST have some benefit come from your vote. You would send a message to the GOP-E that you want no more liberal candidates.

You sarcastically called yourself "Gay State Conservative". We both know that folks like Barney Frank AND Mitt Romney helped make the punchline of your joke make sense.

Don't throw away your Massachusetts vote. Vote for the most conservative candidate who makes your Massachusetts ballot. The BEST a Massachusetts conservative could hope for is to send a message.

The message of a vote for Romney would be: I think Romney and liberal Rinos are fine and dandy.

The message of a vote for a 3rd party would be: I insist on conservatives and will vote my conservative principles.

So, which will it be?

"You show me how anyone ‘wins’ through compromise and I’ll vote Romney. You show me how a conservative votes liberal without abandoning his beliefs to do so and I’ll vote Romney."

The thing about Romney is he is a political mercenary, a fact we can use to our advantage. When in MA, he did as the massholes do (to a certain degree, people from outside MA can't realize how powerless the governor is). If we can get conservative majorities in both houses, and keep the tea party going strong, we can exert a large influence on Romney's policies.

"You show me how a person of faith votes for a hardcore abortion supporter/enabler and looks God in the eye saying “All those dead babies I empowered the Govt to send you cannot be held against me” and I’ll vote Romney."

I wouldn't say Romney is a hardcore abortion supporter -- at this point, he wouldn't dare enable abortion because he's looking to a second term already. Again, conservative majorities in both houses will have an enormously positive effect on the situation. Additionally, what might God say when you tell Him you enabled a confirmed, unrepentant abortionist who is stilling pushing for more abortions, by letting him take another term? I think you need to weigh all the factors and determine which action will cause the least harm. Unfortunately, voting for Tom will ultimately help Obama.

"Show me logically how empowering a liberal with Romney’s record is better than Tom or any other conservative running and I’ll vote Romney."

Tom can run himself into the ground and the majority of Americans will never hear of him. Where Santorum, Gingrich and Perry failed, why would Tom with a fraction of the support, money, and logistics do better?

Broken family. Ninth grade dropout. GED. Self-educated beyond that.

Did practically every job under the sun in the course of my life to keep body and soul together, and to keep a roof over my family’s head. Washed dishes, bussed tables, pushed a broom, even worked on a carnival when I was young. Drove truck. Upholstered LaZBoy chairs. Drove rivets. Laid block and concrete. Ran a feed mill. Farrowed hogs. Ran a grain elevator, loaded trains, and delivered fertilizer and chemicals. Ran an old-fashioned Main Street dime store. Worked as a machinist now and again. Worked as a dryer operator in an OSB mill. Built Pella windows. Built washing machines. You name it, I’ve probably done a bit of it.

My political activities led me into a bit of political consulting. Not because I had any desire to be a political consultant, but because there were jobs that needed to be done that no one else would do, particularly for conservatives...since the GOP has been depriving them of sustenance for years.

Never held office, unless you count a brief stint as an elected member of the Iowa Republican State Committee.

Founded America’s Party four years ago, and have served as chairman ever since.

First off, thank you for making a serious arguement. Most refuse to even try. No joke. I appreciate it.

RE Merc: On the front page of FR right now there is the following article from CNS “Boehner Indicates GOP House May Fund Obama’s ‘Attack on Religious Liberty”

Who exactly can we count on in DC to direct Romney toward the right? There are probably 5 genuinely conservative members and a majority of RINO/Libs. Not one conservative has any position of influence under the Grim Weeper. It is therefor logical to assume that Bohner will not do anything but further enable Rom’s liberalism. To date, Bohner and co have defaulted on nearly every issue we have entrusted them with. And the ones they held the fort on took a lot of kicking and screaming - something the base can or will not maintain enthusiasm for over the 4 year timeframe.

RE Abortion: When I think about what it means to my conscience to knowingly vote for one abortion supporter (as history shows) over another...it’s a wash. Either way gets dead kids and violated mothers (willingly or otherwise). There is right, there is wrong, there is evil and there is good. Those are the only 4 colors in the box of crayons.

RE Tom/Goode etc: They are unknown because not enough of us are willing to step up to the plate for them and vote/campaign on their behalf. Can they ever overcome cubic dollars? Not a chance at the current rate. But it is you, I and the rest of the right that determine what that rate is. And as their viability increases, so do the dollars. But unless we the people choose to make an investment of our time and our ‘faith’ to begin with, no one but the richest/wel connected GOP Next turner will ever, EVER have a chance.

And every election is the most important life altering one ever ever ev3R. So there is never a ‘good’ time to fight back against the BS. Except this one, the next one AND the one after that.

Or we keep getting liberals and more liberal liberals fosted on us annually. And that’s pretty hard to deny since. again. history proves it 110%.

I am sure you are well aware, but just to get it ‘on paper’ so to speak:

After Bush 1 the Dems Ran Bill Clinton.
Then Al Gore
Then John Kerry
Then Barack Obama

Each more left and marxist than the one before

The GOP countered with Bob Dole
Then GWB
Then John McCain
Now Mitt Romney.

Likewise, each more liberal than the one before.

The trend unarguably shows both parties going further to the left with each passing election. The trend of GOP is putting up more libs is reinforced by the base voting for what they give us under threat of the crazy man the Dems run that year.

There is the real world example of incrimentalism on broad display I spoke of earlier. So at what point do you (generally speaking) feel the the GOP will suddenly willingly nominate a conservative based on the 20 year trend shown above?

Or is more logical to assume that it will take an outside force to get a conservative elected? And if so, is it not more sensible to stop the slide now and begin building one up for our team? Because the trend shows 100% that either party will nominate even MORE left wing candidates in 2016/2020. Assuming we are alive and exist as America to see it.

Lastly, recoil in horror when you realize that Bill Clinton has more verifiable legislation to his credit that Romney does to his.

A quote from today:

"In an authentic three-way political contest, the number of those who prefer American liberty to anti-American socialism is more than sufficient to defeat, in general election, both wings of the elite faction’s partisan sham."
