What a tragic story

Well, it's going OK here. We have 50 counties in Oklahoma now under a Burn Ban. Our county, Stephens, just instituted one yesterday.

The had another wildfire out by Stillwater yesterday which consumed a number of acres.

Everyone needs to be careful out there.

Also, take it easy with this heat out here too.

Not much else is going on. Bo and I were out at the lake yesterday.

There are many who would say that absolutely NONE of Parris Island's 8,000+ acres are remotely fit for human habitation (g)

Seriously, one of the many things that makes the Corps different from the other branches of our military is the "aura/legend" of Parris Island. We are alla ware of the rigors that cadets go through at West Point, Annapolis, and the AFA, but only enlisted Marines can feel that they went through something far worse than their officers endured. This was pointed out to me forcefully....many, many times when I was going through Quantico.

LOL. Luckily we don’t have bears here. Coyotes and an occasional bobcat are the largest preadators. Feral hogs are a few miles away for now.

Did you see the you tube video of some BRAVE people putting a ladder into a trash dumpster so three baby bears could climb out while the mother is a few feet away?
