Upland, CA
August 1, 2012
It was an exciting day at the Chick-Fil-A in Upland, CA. Hundreds and hundreds of great Americans came out to support the 1st Amendment. I arrived at 11:37am and it took me almost an hour to get a bag of chocolate chip cookies. I haven't eaten meat or fowl since 1991, but I had to go there and support them.
Inside, the line wrapped around like a Disneyland ride. Had the fire marshal been called, he would have probably made many people leave. No short tempers and everyone was very friendly.
The traffic jam was massive. In the parking lot of the shopping center were probably over 100 cars waiting to go through the drive-thru.
It was a wonderful display of good Americans coming together to make a statement. We had political conversations and, of course, never being one to be shy, I started singing God Bless America and thank goodness others joined in. It would have been pretty bad to just hear me singing by myself.
Let's carry this spirit through to November.
Oh, yes, on one funny note, a lady standing in front of me in line asked, "Are you Doug from Upland?" She remembered me from the showing four years ago of HILLARY! UNCENSORED to a crowd of about 100 at the Upland Library.
good report...
I’m glad to learn I was not the only non-chicken-eater who went to Chik-fil-A for a treat today.
there really is an upland?
"No, I'm Jim Thompson".
There most certainly is an Upland on Foothill Blvd (Route 66). BTE CFA packed in Ashburn Va near Redskins Park !
My son stops at this CFA every time he drives home to Vegas from LA, both ways. He LOVES the food. I tried to talk him into driving down there today to show his support, but it’s too far to go with his work hours. He and I had a long conversation about the implications of the attacks on the Cathy family because of their religious beliefs.
He impressed the heck out of me with his grasp of the severity and enormity of the assault on a business because of the religious and political beliefs of its owner.
“It’s downright unconstitutional!”, he said.
He gets it, thank God.
I’m glad to see all these stories about CFA today.
Free Speech is alive and well in the US and this shows people are aware that it is under threat from the left.
My local, small-town GA CFA has been packed to the rafters since they opened this morning! 45 minute wait and one of the managers said that every employee on their payroll was working open to close today. The crowd was friendly and cheerful. Many comments were heard throughout the crowd about how bad Zero was going down if the turnout on Nov 6th was anywhere close to what CFA was getting today.
One of the local McDs and the local KFC had their billboards posting We agree with Dan Cathy and C-F-A Appreciation Day on them. Amazing that even CFAs competitors were supporting them.....
The Pole smoking, hershey Highway riders have lost this little temper tantrum. And I am loving every minute of it. I will be getting a sandwhich tomorrow at the one in Folsom Ca.
That CFA is at the 210 & Campus.
NEED REPORTS FROM THE SWING STATES. THAT MIGHT TELL THE ELECTION.
The employees at CFA must be making good overtime money today. Time and a half and double time pay sure helps. The CFA supporters are doing more to help the economy than 0bama is.
I have seen reports/pictures from Virginia, Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida. All with long lines.
There are no CFAs in Nevada.
I actually lived at 9th street and 6th ave in the 1970’s, Where is the Chick-fil-a in Upland? Probably built long after I came home to TX (in 1982)
Absolutely. I lived there in the 1970’s.
Way up N. Campus in a fairly new shopping area.
The big question now is what are things going to be like at the CFA’s on Thursday and Friday?
Remember that Friday is going to be the homo-demo at CFA, and if the homos get a sympathy appearance by various Democrat factions like SEIU, or worse, things may get interesting.
There is a good chance that they will want to do things like call in bomb threats, vandalize cars and start fights, and I suspect a lot of the conservatives at the CFA will not appreciate this.
The really strong showing today has probably rattled the leftists, so they may try *something* to snatch back the headlines.
Here in the Monterey/Santa Cruz area we are in a CFA dead zone. 100+ miles north to Fairfield, 100+ miles east to Fresno, 100+ miles south to San Luis Obispo.
