He won't fight the homosexuals, and he won't fight the Islamists. No way.

He'll fight Conservatives every time though. Spend millions to do it in fact.

Ah, the old 'hypocrisy' question. Remember when Mohammed said "KILl the hypocrites'? The Leftwingtards also imagine that the perception of hypocrisy in others is a primary motivation of human behavior.

I suppose most leftists would make the hypocrisy a capital crime much as Mohammed did ~ if we let them.

However, it's not much of a motivator. Most people who vote know that all the politicians are hypocrites. In fact, when it comes to Christians, they much appreciate the story where the guy beats his chest and says to God, take pity on me for I am a sinner.

Frankly, only a fool imagines that a charge of hypocrisy will gain or lose votes in an election.

Christian theory, if not Mormon theory, allows sinners to change ~ both in belief and in behavior.

Best Mitt get some Christian advisors nearby to provide him some guidance to get through this sticky wicket. If he imagines that some Democrat's claim that he's a hypocrite will lose him some votes he's politically blind and has no business in this, his 31st campaign for public office (with only 1 victory).

You really need to read through the First Amendment someday ~ most likely an enormous task for any Mittbot ~ but it talks about free speech, free press, religious freedom, assembly, a variety of matters ~ they are all in there together. It's not up to the preachers to be the exclusive vendors of the details ~ unless, of course, you belong to a peculiar church found predominantly in the Intramountain West ~ then I guess somebody speaks for you so you just don't understand what this means to everybody else.

Maybe you need to read it again.

What freedom of speech violation occurs when a group of gays decides to boycott a business, and another group decides to make a counter protest by patronising the same business in massive numbers?

Or when several blowhard Democrat mayors attempt to score some cheap political points by spewing empty threats against a business (and then being forced to admit they have no legal grounds to enforce their idiotic harangues?).

Who was denied their First Amendment rights in this case?

The Democrat mayors THREATENED to prevent the business in question from getting permits.

That right there is actionable. It's a violation of law. It's not up to the preachers to put down civil insurrection ~ which is exactly what those mayor's promised when they said they'd violate the laws of the land to deny Chic Fil A whatever licenses they needed just because of the beliefs in lawful practices by the owner.

I suggested you people can't understand these matters and you can't!

Mr. RomneyCARE will take GLORY in death panels

Satan has come to KILL/ROB/DESTROY. Of course, satan's pawn, godless Cult Leader Romney will take glory in it - EVIL came for that reason - to kill. Babies or the old - doesn't matter.

And satan wants to take God's place in America - so that is why there are TWO candidates with satan's spirit. He already got the losers in '08 - now it's his turn with those who consider themselves 'bright and 'claim' they have values. Instead the bright are dull and their values are so hidden and weak - they can't stand on them!

It does not end well for them for It is Written

“Smart move...no need to get caught up in this distraction.”

I’m with you - this election is his for the taking. No need to wonder into this issue that will simply ignite the part of Obama’s base that would otherwise stay home - young voters.

Nothing but cheap talk, so they were forced to back down.

Only actionable if they had actually done it.

Yeah, Freedom of Religion and Freedom of speech are such distractions.

Myth just has his magic underwear in a knot because his internal polls are worse than those of a chicken sandwich.

Conservatives are winning the Chick fi A controversy. Why does Romney need to do anything? The first rule of politics is that ‘when yoir enemy is busy destroying himself, leave him alone.

“You have to think smart here. The Mitt Romney campaign’s objective is not to be engaged in a ‘religious JIHAD’. Let others do that, it makes better political sense.”

I agree (make you feel better). Our side already understands there’s a culture war going one - hence the turnout on Wednesday - and we’re ready to vote on it. Their side needs something, anything, to get their people out. Getting Romney labeled as a hate-filled person who just wants to put gays back in jail is what they need...and he won’t take the bait.

The other thing is that we should be thankful he’s not as bad as McCain, who would have come out AGAINST Chick-A-Fill, had he been running instead.

There's actually a federal law concerning corruption in office. Making such threats is a violation.

But never mind that, when you are a mayor your threats are NOT HOLLOW ~ they are very real, particularly when it comes to zoning.

The issue here was zoning. Zoning is among the various powers the Supreme Court said in Euclid v. Ambler could be exercised by the states and delegated to local governments or other municipal authorities (which, BTW, would include canals, private highways, and, lo and behold, utilities ~ water, sewer, power, phone, etc.

A threat to deny zoning on the basis of an individual's belief is manifestly improper, and given the fact zoning is so closely related to property and property values, it crosses over into the LAW OF CONVERSION, which is an absolutely enormous part of the law ~

Most of it has to do with all the various ways invented to steal, and how arguments on behalf of those ways must always fail because of "such and so".

Now that's some good reading. In my business for many years (much of it having to do with collection of large dollar value debts) it was bedtime study. Jus' lub' dem' cases!

I can assure you Mitt knows all about conversion, and threats to deny zoning ~ and what you can do about it. He too readily dismissed those matters.

A man like that can't be trusted ~

“But I also see Pat Buchanan’s point made on Townhall. Guess I believe the fiscal, social and foreign policy issues are all intertwined: “If the Republican Party has not gone wobbly in the culture war, it will take up the challenge of that Democratic platform and make homosexual marriage the social issue of the fall election. The GOP might just drive a wedge through the Democratic coalition and send Obama down to defeat. But if the Tampa Republicans are unwilling to fight the culture war, culture warriors should look to themselves.””

Romney and Pat are BOTH right. Romney should stay clear, but the Republican Party should DEFINITELY get in on the gay marriage debate - maybe with a plank in their platform calling for Constitutional Amendment to settle the issue, once and for all. But Romney has a huge amount to lose, when you consider the 99.9% of this country that are NOT on this website.

“Amazing how “conservatives” are twisting themselves into pretzels to cover for Mitt. If he wins, these “conservatives” are going to have some serious back pain if they have to do these pretzel positions for the next 4 - 8 years. “

Who do you support in November, and does he (or she) have any chance?
