Really? What REAL conservative gives a care about the VP pick of a horribly flawed Romney? He is beyond fixing. IF a “conservative” consents to be his VP pick, that “conservative” will be no longer welcome in conservative circles.

At the Veep announcement time Romney should also announce that he is SEALING all the rest of his State and Federal Tax Returns.

The only VP announcement I'd get excited about is if Mittens himself were stepping down into the # 2 slot.

It would be a wonderful thing if Sarah Palin is ignored at the convention (and a little part of me hopes that she is)and she leaves the Republican Party, becomes an Independent to send a message to the GOPe.

Sarah Palin could become the Ralph Nader of the Tea Party come 2016 and the sooner that message is clear the better of we will all be.

Is General Petraeus a democrat?

Rubio would win the election for Romney. But I fear the Boston wimps will go with the safe pick (Portman) and go on to place 2nd - just like McCain.

But at least they’ll be proud of the race they ran (just like McCain), while treating the Kenyan thug with kid gloves - all while Romney gets labeled a felon, cancer patient killer, tax cheat, racist, etc.

Thank you GOPe.

McDonnell would be a good choice. Hell, he should have been the nominee!

So what do you recommend; we sit around and play checkers on election day?

Hurry up, Bishop, Sir, the funerals are awaiting!

Is General Petraeus a democrat?

No. According to this 2008 New Yorker article:

Petraeus is registered to vote as a Republican in New Hampshire—he once described himself to a friend as a northeastern Republican, in the tradition of Nelson Rockefeller—but he said that around 2002, after he became a two-star general, he stopped voting. As he departed for Baghdad, to oversee a “surge” deployment of additional American troops to Iraq, he sought, as he recalled it, “to try to avoid being pulled in one direction or another, to be in a sense used by one side or the other.” He added, “That’s very hard to do, because you become at some point sort of the face of the war, the face of the surge. So be it. You just have to deal with that."

We on this forum have an impolite four-letter acronym that encompasses Rockefeller Republicans and similar: RINO. Of course, as the quote indicates, Petraeus has been keeping his head down focusing on the job. So, I don't think we really know what his true views are.

A Massachusetts - New Hampshire ticket doesn't seem likely in any case.

Not on anyones radar but a formidable pick for OHIO and PA! She was Lt Gov of Ohio prior to becoming Chief Justice of Ohio Supreme Ct. Educated in PA. Chief Justice Maureen O'Connor is the 10th Chief Justice in Ohio history and is the first woman to lead the Ohio judicial branch. She first joined the Supreme Court of Ohio as an associate Justice in January 2003. She was re-elected in November 2008 and then as Chief Justice in 2010. Born in the nation's capital, but raised in Strongsville and Parma, Chief Justice O'Connor's career in public service and the law spans three decades and includes service as a private lawyer, magistrate, common pleas court judge, prosecutor, and Supreme Court Justice. She earned her bachelor of arts at Seton Hill College in 1973 before going on to earn her law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, 1980.

Once again, Bill Kristol looking into his Kristol Ball for future.

Give it up Bill, your "words of wisdom" impress no one!

You do NOT represent conservative thought or values; you eschew "fly-over country" thinking for the mainstream media DC corridor

You don't fit in with your liberal Jewish pals so you try to reach the "middle" and veer quite left in so doing.

Take a tip from Mort Kondrake, retire early, please.
