EU slams U.S. for backing away from climate goals

The European Union and small island states criticized the United States on Tuesday (7 August) for backing away from a U.N. goal of limiting global warming to below 2 degrees Celsius.

They urged almost 200 governments to stick to the target, one of the few agreed goals in international climate policy, even though U.S. climate envoy Todd Stern said it was unworkable. …

The United States and other nations have agreed to the goal that rises in average world temperatures should be kept below 2°C above pre-industrial times to avoid dangerous changes such as heatwaves, floods, droughts and sea level rise.

Marlene Moses, chair of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), accused Washington of lowering ambition for U.N. climate talks and said it was "particularly disturbing in the midst of one of the worst droughts in the country's history. … If the U.S. is prepared to abandon its own farmers, how are we supposed to believe it will do what is necessary to save small islands?" AOSIS fears some of its member states will be swamped by storms, erosion and rising sea levels. …

Uh-huh. What happened to fifty million climate refugees by 2010, eh? (The UN environment program and UN university then yanked the prediction off their websites and blatantly lied, saying that they never made that claim.) Of course, these faithless, godless types won't acknowledge any supernatural cause for heatwaves, floods, droughts et cetera, all of which happened in prehistory (man, the plebeians in the Roman Empire drove too many automobiles, didn't they) . . .

Several reporters tried to reach Algore for a comment but Leavenworth is in lockdown at the moment.

The same court recently rejected the appeals of the lengthy sentences of the 137 alleged UN “scientists” – Gore’s co-conspirators – for falsifying data supporting so-called Cap and Trade legislation that trial testimony disclosed would have virtually destroyed what remained of the U.S. economy while unjustly enriching Gore and a cabal of insiders.

During his trial, Gore was notified by the Nobel Committee that he would have to return the large monetary prize and the gold metal awarded him in 2009. He told reporters that the last of his prize money and the 100 million or so he’d bilked from taxpayers while running his scam had gone to the lawyers and Tipper pawned his medal when she left him for a mentally competent achondroplastic dwarf NBA center and filed for divorce after his conviction.

An arbitrary and absurd goal.

Absolutely no conclusive repeatable science to justify it.

Idiots insist on erring on the side of caution to avoid imagined disasters, none of which have ever come close to occuring in the last 30 years.

Rational people prefer to err on the side of people, and their physical and economic health.

Africa, most notably, has had seasonal, as well as climate refugees as long as recorded (and unrecorded) history. Pretending that mass migrations is something new due to industrialization is an embarrassment for the continued promotion of ignorance.

In fact, the spread of homo sapiens worldwide can only be explained by forced migrations due to climate changes, both abrupt and long term. To ascribe this to "industrialization" is to ignore history and to succumb to the pandering to ignorance.

It is simply the modern shell game to transfer wealth from the capable, the industrious and the competent cultures to obvious corrupt tyrannies, ironically most in evidence in the last few hundred years in Africa, the Middle east and Asia.
