Dear friends,
What I think ("No") about whether or not Rubio, or Jindal, or Obama is a Natural Born Citizen doesn't matter. Neither does what you think (if "Yes").

None of us cashes a SCOTUS paycheck. It simply is not within our bailiwick to wax on and on about Minor vs Habbersett, or Wong Kim Ark, or various works by Puffendorf or Vattel. The fact of the matter is that the courts have abdicated their constitutional responsibilities. Why for example, is the child of two ILLEGAL immigrants held to be an American Citizen at Birth? That is certainly not the law here the way I read it. And in fact, it's certainly not the law anywhere else. In fact, the child born here of LEGAL aliens becomes a citizen upon naturalization, not automatically by reason of native birth.

At this point in our history, The SCOTUS must stop turning down those who appeal these citizenship cases before them on meretricious grounds. Our Republic needs to establish what is a citizen, who is a citizen, and what a "Natural Born Citizen" is.

Our courts ... especially the SCOTUS have betrayed us by refusing to handle the question, so anyone's opinion is as good as anyone else's. E.G., I mean ...gasp...I could be wrong ... so could you!

This question is beyond cracker-barrel lawyers and philosophers. We pay people to handle it professionally. Be 'bout time they did.

And what do I need to know about Ryan? Is he tougher than Mitt? Can he talk? Has he got the stones to tackle the Momabsa MF? Is Ryan a good thing? A Bad Thing?

I was hoping for West.

Our Republic needs to establish what is a citizen, who is a citizen, and what a "Natural Born Citizen" is.

Our country has forgotten what "natural born citizen" means because it has forgotten what "citizen" means.

That gold medalist at the Olympics who was waving both U.S. and Mexican victory flags, this man who was the child of illegal immigrants who came to this country, has no idea what it means to be an American citizen. His parents were illegals and didn't care about America or American citizenship, so he (the anchor baby) never learned it either.

Yeah, I really do care about some taco-fartin anus waving a Mexican flag while on the American Team. In fact, makes me ill.

However, what I really do care more about is whether or not this guy is supposed to be a citizen ... and how he is supposed to have gotten to be one. That unpatriotic SOB is a symptom, not the disease.

I was wondering if that point tipped the balance against Rubio...

You need not wonder very long. Unfortunately, for us constitutional conservatives, the NBC factor probably never entered the minds of the RINO Romney people. Rather, we lucked out.

Rubio and Jindal are good guys and I wish them successful political careers, but that doesn't make them constitutionally eligible to be VPOTUS or POTUS.

I was explaining this point to my Mom, and she had never heard of it. She thought that just being born in the USA made one eligible for the Presidency. I painstakingly explained it to her that even if Obama had been born in HI(which I doubt) he would STILL not be a NBC, because his alleged father was a British Subject (Kenya didn’t exist as a country at the time...it was a British Colony). This is a fact that even many “birthers” ignore.

Meanwhile, if we are going to be honest about it, Neither Rubio nor Jindal meet that criteria either.

There is an editorial for that...

How about “thanks Glove for a conservative Vice President”?

As an “issue” only people that would never vote Obama agree with or care about the legal theory that Rubs/Jindal wouldn’t be eligible.

I’m glad Rubio is not the pick, because he is not experienced enough, not because of any nonsense.

We need a lot more citizens like yourself who understand the Constitution and are willing to teach it to others. We have been losing it down through the years because of ignorance and indifference.

We can't leave it to the elitist judiciary to preserve the Constitution under such circumstances, as we have seen time and again. We the people have do it ourselves.

For those who are interested in furthering their education, The Federalist Blog has a very interesting and informative article that might either clear up confusion or at least promote further research.

It's Defining Natural-Born Citizen by P.A. Madison on November 18th, 2008.

From the Preamble of the Constitution, a Natural Born Citizen is the Posterity of We the People whom the Constitution was ordained and established to secure.
