Ryan is a good man, but does not redeem the abortionist/homosexualist statist Romney
Aug 11, 2012 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 08/11/2012 4:42:48 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

Except for his unfortunate go along to get along support of TARP, bailouts, stimulus spending and the increased credit limit, etc, Ryan is a pretty good choice. Probably the best choice of the RINOS that were on Romney's short list. I support Ryan for the vice presidency. Wish he were at the top of the ticket, though.

But I still cannot and will not support the grand father of ObamaCare. Romney still loves and brags about his bastard brainchild, RomneyCare, even today when he knows what an anti-liberty socialist POS it is.

And the fact that he advocated that abortion should be safe and legal in America for over three decades of his adult lifetime and even advocated that Roe v Wade should be supported and sustained as settled law precludes any consideration whatsoever by this pro-life Christian for Myth Romney for the presidency.

And the fact that he boasted that he would be better for "gay rights" than Ted Kennedy, and proved it just increases my resistance.

That, and his penchant for gun control, his continuing support for global warming, gays in the scouts, gays in the military, and his record of appointing liberal judges makes it all but impossible for me to support him.

Lastly, we're having a bit of changeover on our moderator staff. At least two moderators resigned this afternoon after I flatly refused to rein in a so-called anti-Mormon "bigot" on FR. Well, if being in opposition to false prophets and false prophecy makes a Christian believer a bigot, then I guess I'm a bigot. I've posted before that I flat do not believe that the Book of Mormon is the true word of God. Nor do I believe that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. The Christian bible warns us to be weary of false prophets and that I am. Romney being the presumptive Republican nominee does not change that fact.

if you can’t stop someone sick enough to take the demonic side on Born Alive, then you have some pretty psychotic issues yourself.

I was pointing to the fact that Obama the Socialist/Marxist murder of unborn infants, voted against any legislation to allow infants of abortion to be born alive. But I see that I get an answer from DU, not a conservative Freeper!

Colo and some others had BEEN Mormon in the past and got the treat of seeing the LDS’ seamier side. You can hardly blame them for feeling cynical.

You know I agree with all your points on Mormonism, but to me, the Mormon thing in and of itself is a side note. Romney’s a socialist and he doesn’t represent any of my views politically given his history, and that’s eniugh for me. My best friend - until he died two days after Christmas in 05 - was a Mormon raised by a Mormon and a Ba’hai. The Mormon thing to me is second to his socialist objectives for this country, objectives he shares with Obama. I can’t believe this snake oil salesman has this many people duped into thinking that if they don’t vote for him, it’ll be THE END OF AMERICA. Our dear Ayn was an Atheist, and I’d openly campaign for her, since unlike Paul Ryan, I AM a Randian Objectivist instead of a social justice type.

No one has the luxury of voting their conscience.

Oh really? "A luxury"?

yo - I understand friendly fire when things get this intense. So no hard feelings. Just stop shooting at me, as I’m on your side - for the exact same reason, even.

O’bummer raised some technical complaints that even some conservatives might agree with. That killing those born alive was already banned four times over. Banning it five times over wasn’t likely to change the outcome much.

Still, Barack Obama stinks in just about every lefty way possible.

HiTech..... I believe that marriage is an established tradition between a man and woman. Our Nation established precedence by given various benefits to those that marry, but more importantly, it was to known as spiritual union of a man and woman, a tradition that should be held dear and true. However, whatever legal benefits that are established for those that marry, so should those same benefits be extended to any two people who join each other for a lifetime commitment, regardless of sex and sexual preference.

Again, freedom and EQUAL rights for all means we don’t exclude someone because of the race, color, creed, national origin, sexual preference, etc. Special interests group were given life out of intolerance. Let’s be more intolerant of those politicians that waste our money; intolerant of those that break the law, especially quality of life crimes (murder, rape, drugs, etc). If Johnny and Patrick are able to have a Civil Union, it has zero impact on my life, but if they go out and murder, rape, or sell drugs, they clearly impact us all.

Again, what issues are the real important ones?

Your falling for the meme that Ryan is some fiscal hawk.

As JR said, Ryan voted supported TARP, the auto bailouts, every Bush budget, every debt limit increase under Bush, no Child Left Behind, also known as no union member left behind.

When the tough got going, Ryan sided with Gov't. He will fold like a cheap suit.

Ryan's fiscal plans are a joke. He intends to increase the size and scope of the budget, while his economic prediction of said budget proposals are nothing but fantasy.

I understand what you’re saying, but it says a lot about the thing’s lack of character that one of the few times it decided not to vote “present” the big issue that caught his eye was this.

I wish the “snake oil salesman” WOULD advertise that if Barack Obama gets back in, it’s probably the “end of America as we know it.” Would that the Mittster had that kind of moxie.

It’s for the gummit to provide legal hooks for the Civil Union that rankles me. If gays want to promise each other the moon they are not banned from doing so, but don’t get my gummit involved with this, PLEASE!

The following announcement of a series of debates (which were poorly advertised) seems like something one would read on The Onion:

"Reportedly, as of this evening, four candidates have agreed to participate: Tom Hoefling of America's Party, Virgil Goode of the Constitution Party, Will Christensen of the Independent American Party, and Ed Noonan of the American Independent Party."

Why wouldn't the candidate for America's Independent Constitutional Party agree to participate? What happened to the Constitutional Party of Independent Americans?

The Hebrew term for gods, “eilim,” which also means mighty ones, has some contextual uses to indicate entities that are not literally God. Angels are among them, as are people in certain roles. I believe Mormons have taken this way beyond the intended meaning but that’s neither here nor there.

I spent 45 years as a Mormon. Indeed they have taken this too far. They believe they will be gods of worlds of their own making.

“Luxury” - perfect word for something that is horrifically exspensive, and serves no practical purpose. Good FReepers will get it.
