Romney's brilliant foreign policy choice [ 2nd Former Reagan adviser to compare Mitt to Reagan ]
Fox News ^ | August 13 2012 | By K.T. McFarland

No doubt the Obama administration is fast at work sharpening their knives to slice and dice Paul Ryan as lacking the foreign policy chops to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

By choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney has made an inspired choice – on foreign policy grounds!

First, the greatest long-term national security threat the United States faces isn’t China, or Russia, or Al Qaeda. It’s our dwindling economic power. As former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mullin has said many times, “the single, biggest threat to our national security is our debt.”

I’ve worked for three presidents, and the best of them was Ronald Reagan. People used to say Reagan didn’t know enough about foreign affairs to be president. But he knew enough to win the Cold War without firing a shot, which all the diplomats, academics and experts before him had failed to do.

Reagan understood that America’s free market capitalism is the most powerful weapon in our arsenal. And he understood that before using it to defeat the Soviet Empire, he would have to bring it back to health. 2012 is shaping up to be 1980 all over again. Compare Obama’s “you didn’t build that” with Paul Ryan’s call to arms that “We won’t duck the tough issues...we will lead!

“We won’t blame others…we will take responsibility!

“We won’t replace our founding principles…we will reapply them!

By choosing Paul Ryan as his running mate, Romney has crossed the Rubicon into Reagan land. He has wedded himself to the Ryan budget and there is no turning back.

What a hoot...Romney is about as close to Ronald Reagan as Nelson Rockefeller.

Santorum was ignorant when he endorsed removing pro-life from the republican party platform, and of course for his being a Romney and Specter man for all these years, and for thinking that Reagan was too far right for him, and for switching from pro-abortion to pro-life to run for office, just like Mitt did.

“As former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Adm. Mullin has said many times, ‘the single, biggest threat to our national security is our debt.’”

Oh yes, the same Admiral Mullin that gave us open homosexuals in the military before he deserted. I’m certain Reagan would be for sodomites openly serving in the Armed Forces(NOT!) Mullin abused his position a CJCS to FORCE the Obama agenda of repealing DADT. He SOLD OUT the military. Using him as a reference is NOT wise.

Gary Bauer had the nerve to say that! Maybe he still has debt from his old presidential run and Romney has offered to help him with that.

Thank you so much for that link. Those lying POSs haven’t quit trying to prop up their gay loving baby murderer by smearing Reagan. Now they’ve got a new twist — align Romney’s questionable “conversion” with Reagan’s actual grief over what the dems did in California with abortion law he signed, hoping people will fooled into believing Romney really is pro-life.

Has Romney himself ever expressed any remorse, no not really. To this day he is nothing but all smiles and laughter about his baby Romneycare and all the murder of innocent children it has brought about.

When it comes to trying to pull the wool over conservatives eyes, to paraphrase a truly great man, “there they go again.”

just like when he and his dad stormed off the convention floor to protest Goldwater winning that nomination.

That's the dirty little secret about the moderates and their holier than thou talk about party unity. They flap their gums about compromise to get their guy elected but when the candidate is a conservative, all bets are off. The "moderates" are the true puritanical voters and they reserve their right to compromise with their friends on the left.

I could name a half dozen moderates who are in office because conservatives compromised off the top of my head. You'd be hard pressed to find a handful of conservatives in office with the help of moderates.

From the article:

Romney and Netanyahu were co-workers 40 years ago, and have remained close friends. They “finish each other’s sentences.” A President Romney and Prime Minister Netanyahu don’t have to agree on everything, but they must have confidence in each other. Romney doesn’t need a vice president to tell him how to gain the Israeli prime minister’s confidence; he’s already got it.

“I will use one of your like minded iberal sites to argue you are wrong:
The Conversion
How, when, and why Mitt Romney changed his mind on abortion.

“When you see the story in its full context, three things become clear. First, this was no flip-flop.”

http://www.slate.com/articles/news_and_politics/the_conversion/2012/02/mitt_romney_s_abortion_record_flip_flop_or_conversion_.html";

This is one of those “Who do you believe? Me or your lying eyes?” things that you Romneyphiles want us to embrace. Romney instituted 50 dollar abortions after his pro-life conversion, and actually he was pro-life before he went to pro-choice, and then pro-life again. Depends on the audience really.

“Rick Santorum, not a former Reagan advisor , also compared Mitt to Reagan:

http://youtu.be/cMy5J_UJw4U";

To be fair, Rick Santorum thought he would win on a platform of “God loves me the best” while helping Mitt trash the other conservatives in the race, while at the same time claiming to be “above it all” despite the ads he was running. Santorum is a liar and a good dog for the GOPe.

mitt romney cannot even be sold as a small “c” conservative. Defining him as Reagan is absolute insanity.

Let me remind you that in February of 2009, Santorum was the first gop/e to state (along with michael steele) that, “The “Era of Reagan” is over. The electorate has moved further to the left. We have to embrace diversity and move further in the direction of the electorate”. I could vote for Santorum due to his pro life stance... but he has no credibility with me when it comes to Reagan or Conservatism.

“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you.” - Genesis 12:3

I will gather all nations and bring them down to the Valley of Jehoshaphat. There I will enter into judgment against them concerning my inheritance, my people Israel, for they scattered my people among the nations and divided up my land. - Joel 3:2

Look around. As we become more and more anti-Israel, how’s it working out for us?

Well, hell, if Obama can be Lincoln even though they’re polar opposites, I don’t see why Romney can’t compare himself to Reagan. Why not do Obama one better and be Roosevelt?
