Not saying it will happen, but replacing Biden would be easy and have no downside for Obama. Obama needed him on 08 for Foreign Policy cred. Now Obama is Pres and is assumed to have it (by the sheeple)
SO here is how it is done.

Obama announces that after a recent health scare, he and Joe have decided it is best for the country if Joe is replaced on the ticket with someone younger and healthier. Joe will continue his public service in the second term as Special Envoy, Sec of State, AG...

If Obama picks Hillary or Holder as his running mate, Either steps down to campaign full time and Biden is named Acting AG/Sec o State. To be confirmed after the election.

If Obama picks someone else - say a Hispanic from the southwest, then Joe can be given a special assignment to focus on (keep him on message) from now until election day. Like Point Man on Iran, or Syria or Egypt... in constant consult with our allies.

I know Dems who would turn out to vote -against- her.

She’s not as beloved as she imagines herself to be.

Sure it has. Lincoln dropped Hamlin for Johnson, FDR replaced Garner with Wallace then later replaced Wallace with Truman.

(John Nance Garner was the man who gave the world the famous quote that “The Vice-Presidency isn’t worth a pitcher of warm piss.”)

Ike came damn close to replacing Richard Nixon in 1956 and was only talked out of it by Henry Cabot Lodge.

The socialist president has thrown a number people under the bus — including his white grandmother who raised him from birth. If it helps his re-election, I don’t think the muslim would hesitate for a second to crush Slo-Joe.

We should start a thread predicting what hijinks the Obama campaign will resort to before November.

Here's a wild one! The first lady will announce in late October that she was pregnant and has suffered a miscarriage.

Too late. Sarah Palin has just advised them to drop Biden, so that pretty much seals the deal. He’s there to stay.

Indeed. I have many liberal acquaintances and I just wave them off if they bring up politics. I tell them I’m not interested in speaking about the topic because “ you don’t know what the hell you’re talking about”

Campaigns use the term “Desperate” as derogatory when applied to their opponent. Campaigns always want to appear in control and confident of victory.

Replacing a sitting vice president 3 weeks before the convention would be the very height of desperation, akin to an actor with a severe case of flop sweat.

It would do far more harm then good and if Clinton goes on the ticket in Bidens place the coming loss will finish her political aspirations for the WH forever.

Joe will visit the middle east and his plane will be downed by an Iranian act.

Interestingly enough his body will be found near the wreckage with a hole in is head that could have been caused by a bullet but will be determined to have been from a seat bolt.

But I digress.

Hillary, Panetta or another of that ilk will be forced to step in as VP candidate.

There will be a Wellstone funeral.

Meanwhile war hawk BO will go to war with Iran to avenge Plugs death.

The country will unite behind a wartime president, be re-elected and The Republic will end.

Oh and we rebuild Iran.

I don’t know why people here attribute all kinds of normal scruples to democrats.

If they bring in Hilary there is an adoring press that loves the Clintons even more than they ever loved the Obamas. It will be portrayed as a masterstroke and there won’t be much time spent worrying about “desperation”.

Maybe Obama won’t do it but frankly I don’t see a downside. We’d have to regroup and get back the old Clinton hatred, whereas many republicans have been playing the game of saying that Hilary and the Bill Clinton era were so great.

And yes, that includes our gal Sarah, she has been praising Hilary Clinton for 4 years now.

BTW, if this happens it will be billed as Biden’s request and he will be there to welcome Hilary on board. All this rubbish about throwing him overboard, or he’ll have to claim health reasons, is all nonsense. Whatever Biden says behind the scenes, he will enthusiastically go with the program.

Didn’t Roosevelt dump Wallace because he was a nutcase? It happens and that could be the October surprise. I think Dem strategists want the hildabeast on the ticket.

Some speculate that he did more than just throw grandma under the bus.
