Klein: Hillary Turned Down Veep Spot
Townhall.com ^ | August 17, 2012 | Larry Kudlow

According to author Edward Klein, Obama has put out feelers to Hillary Clinton about accepting the VP spot on the ticket, but Hillary has said no. In the exclusive video below, Klein tells Larry Kudlow why Clinton is reluctant to take the number two spot.

Klein: Until just a couple of weeks ago, the White House was putting out feelers to see if Hillary would accept the vice presidential nod and replace Joe Biden. Bill Clinton was, I'm told, urging his wife to accept the number two slot. He saw this as a great launching pad for her for running in 2016. But then Hillary had lunch in the White House a couple of weeks ago with Valerie Jarrett, Michelle's best friend, senior adviser to both the First Lady and the President.

Kudlow: Just about the biggest Lefty in the White House.

Exactly right.

If Hillary became VP, assuming Obama wins re-election, then she would be sitting VP running for president in 2016, and have to defend all of the policies of the Obama administration.

Actually, the Clintons would be happy to see Obama lose, in that, Hillary would then run in 2016 against a sitting Republican. It’s more difficult to run when you would be replacing a president of your own party, than it is to run against the opposite party’s president.

She’s not stupid.
She sees the writing on the wall.
She does not want to be affiliated with a losing ticket.......

How do you get a brain tumor without a brain?

Wonder is Sarah Palin knew this conversation had already taken place when she launched her shot across Obie's bow a couple of days ago...

Here's the image of Hillary's reaction to Barry when asked to replace Clueless Joe:

Nor is she going to come to the rescue of her party.
The Clintons want to deliver a stern lesson to them about what a dreadful, dreadful mistake they made by throwing in behind Barry in ‘08. They want the Dems to come groveling on hands and knees after a particularly humiliating defeat.

On F&F this morning, Chris Wallace doubted the veracity of this story.

He said, if they were going to change the VP, they would have done it months ago. Any attempt to do it now would reek of desperation.

I am of the same opinion.

She might have been offered and turned it down a few months ago. Recall the headlines of her being tired of politics, yada yada yada. Either she doesn’t want to go down as the VP on the sinking ship as it would screw with her 2016 ambition, or she really does want out of politics. Even she realizes that being Obama’s vp would be difficult to defend, if she did run in 2016, because he is offering nothing to improve the job situation, the economy, trade, energy, or anything else.

I would guess that many of her inner circle were trying to get her to challenge Obama. But, she would have had to go through the primary season for that. Obama possibly made the offer then to sidetract a direct challenge from her.

I don’t think “Failed policies” would be an issue in 2016 if Obama wins. He would have so many people dependant on welfare, that would be the only issue. And if Hillary’s opponant ran against entitlements in any way she’d secure a victory. IMO.
