Christian Pakistani girl arrested for 'blasphemy'

An 11-year-old Christian girl has been arrested after being accused of desecrating pages of a book containing Islamic text.

She was detained for blasphemy after an angry mob demanded her arrest and threatened to burn down Christian homes outside of the capital, Islamabad, Pakistani media say.

The girl is known to have learning difficulties, officials say.

Police have taken her parents into protective custody following threats.

According to Dawn newspaper, police said the girl had been unable to answer questions properly during the interrogation.

Dr Paul Bhatti, Pakistan's minister for National Harmony, told the BBC that the girl was known to have a mental disorder and that it seemed "unlikely she purposefully desecrated the Koran".

Islam is for the Ignorant and the Evil - no one else can tolerate its stench.

Most Pakistani moslems continue to believe in reincarnation and they think of mental retardation or brain damage as punishment for having been a sinner in your previous life.

They are very unsympathetic toward the handicapped and will murder them if they get a chance.

Although there are some civilized modern Pakistanis, the greater part of their country is made up of primitive savages who put superstition first before reason or law.

How can you desecrate a “holy” book?

That should have been the first two strikes after 9/11.

The Religion of Peace hacking a young christian girl sure proves something to me. It is not the Religion of Peace!

How can they believe in reincarnation when that’s a Hindu belief rather than Muslim?

Way back when in the hadiths various followers of Mohammed describe taking trips to Heaven (which seems to be quite near at hand under the right circumstances) to meet Jesus and the prophets.

Yup, sho'nuf, that was enough to maintain Pak interest in reincarnation and transmigration of souls.

That does not follow. Only a fraction of Muslims in Pakistan are Sufi (the ones that actively believe in reincarnation and that believe that Sura 2:28 supports the notion); 70 percent are Sunni and 20 percent are Shi’ite.

Sure it follows. You have a very large and quite primitive population in virtually every state, and within the villages and small towns, and the slums.

The dislike of the handicapped is universal.

So there’s no documented evidence of this assertion.

This is a ‘civil culture’? Sounds more to me like a theocratic mobocracy based on a 7th century model. Gee, such a great visual, a mob after a mentally challenged 11 year old girl. How many mullahs does it take to whip up such a mob? Very few and far too many!

Reincarnation in Christianity and Judaism

The Old Testament actually ends with a prophecy announcing the reincarnation of Elijah. (Malachi 4:5)

According to the Gospels, Jesus himself stated that John the Baptist was Elijah. (Matthew 11:10-11, 13-14)

However, the Baptist denied being Elijah. (John: 1-21)

There are descriptions in New Testament of the conjectures of various people, including Herod, as to whose soul Jesus might represent reincarnation of. (Matthew14:1-2, 16:13-14; Mark 6:14-16; Luke 9:7-9)

In John 9’s account of Jesus’s healing of a man born blind, the disciples ask Jesus if the man was BORN BLIND DUE TO HIS OWN SINS or those of his parents. Clearly, if a man is born blind due to his own sins, those must have been committed in a previous life.

And so on...

“Christianity” as we know it was initiated by Paul, who did not know Jesus during his life and seemed to have no interest in his teachings; in his vision, Jesus’s role was simply to have died. (Please note that Jesus was not a shy man and if he intended to “save” humanity by dying, he did not mention this spiritual plan.)

The new religion was formalized five centuries later by the Ecumenical Council of Constantinople in AD 533. In spirit as well as deeds-—accumulating property, assembling for worship with great public fanfare, sending armies for conquest, maintaining torture chambers-—it came to represent Roman Empire far more than Jesus. Indeed, soon enough it shifted its headquarters to Rome rather than Jerusalem, Bethlehem, or some such place. The word “father”, which always meant God to Jesus, now came to mean the Pope. However I digress...

It was this Council which formally declared reincarnation to be a heretical concept and it remains banned even today. However, they were unable to entirely erase a centuries- and milenia-old tradition so deeply rooted, so a few traces remain in the Gospels.

Also:

Judaism is said to have a belief in three types of reincarnation: 1. the soul reincarnates after dead; 2. the essence of the parent in “reincarnated” in the offspring via sperm/ova.

The following books give a good exposition on the topic:
