The liberal media? Like Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin?
I apologized but the liberal media is trying to make me drop out. Please stand w/ me tonight by signing my petition at akin.org/still-standing
Todd Akin (@ToddAkin) August 22, 2012
BuzzFeed notices that he has the same thing posted on his campaign website.

to repeat myself. Claire give the orders to the Dem lemmings to cross over and vote for Akin - which they did. He then handed her the election on a silver platter.
a selfish d-bag
Republicans should have shrugged this off, right from the beginning. His comments were “stupid”, he has apologized, end of story. BUT NOOOOOOO! We had to HELP the liberals, by holding ourselves down, while they raped us. In any case within a week this will be history, damage already done.
“Akin: The liberal elitist media is trying to push me out of the race”
The Conservative elitist media is trying to push him out of the race. (Hannity, Limbaugh, Levin, Beck, etc.)
I am glad he is standing his ground. I hope he continues to do so. I hope his Republican attackers STFU and move on, or will they continue to throw gasoline on this fire as they have been doing.
You do know that the Duke case was never brought to trial, don’t you?
All the opinions were formed by TV publicity.
No one really knows what happened as the defendants had enough money to hire good attorneys who proceeded to ruin the reputations of both the DA and the accuser.
What do you really know? There was no trial and no testimony, so believe whatever your bias tells you, but that is not the American way. Victims beware! Money rules this world. That is how Romney won the primary.
He flip-flopped big time. He completely repudiated his previous explanation about pregnancy rape. He didn't say he was taken out of context, he said it was bad information.
The reason so many people want him out is because we realize we are getting but a tiny glimpse of the iceberg. What should have been a relatively easy explanation of his pro-life policy position was turned into a national nightmare for the party...by him...and just him. Imagine what will happen between now and November since he's painted such a huge target on his empty forehead. The left wing press jackals will have a feeding frenzy, and the man is too stupid and/or stubborn to get out of his own way.
What does that have to do with anything? Of course there are false rape claims, but it has jack Obama to do with whether or not a pregnancy occurred. In Akin’s wacko view, pregnancy actually increases the chances that a victim is lying because her magical rape defenses obviously weren’t deployed. Try finding a woman not dancing with a rattlesnake who shares that opinion.
Then enjoy another six years of Claire McCaskill. That will be one less Senate vote we'll have for overturning ObamaTax.
You were the one who posted the Duke case as if it had something to do with Akin’s remarks. Akin’s remarks assume ‘false’ rape charges, like the Duke case, you said it. Both the Duke case and Akin’s remarks come from a similar mind set. The ‘victim’ is responsible?
Try putting the ‘truth’ as a guide and when you really don’t know, stop blaming the victim.
The Republicans are going to lose with their “Akin defending” attitude.
It is as Paul Ryan just said “rape is rape” as he refused to say there were different kinds of rape.
