US Army distributes guide to troops: "Avoid arrogance" and "respect Islam" in order to avoid attacks by Afghan soldiers
Denial, dhimmitude, subservience. What do you expect from today's military establishment? In reality, no amount of "respect for Islam" and humility from American troops will prevent these attacks, because the imperative for them is rooted in Islam's doctrines of warfare against unbelievers. But since the U.S. Army prefers to pretend that those doctrines don't exist, we get this.

US military personnel in Afghanistan have been told to "respect Islam, Koran or a mosque" and "Afghan women, elders and children" in order to prevent so-called "green on blue" attacks, where Afghan security forces turn their weapons on the coalition soldiers who have trained them, according to anunclassified Army pocket reference guide given to all US military personnel in the country obtained by Truthout. The reference guide, "Inside the Wire Threats - Afghanistan Green on Blue," referred to as a "smartcard," was distributed to military personnel in early February, right around the time "green on blue" attacks started to increase, along with a detailed "handbook " under the same name, which Truthout is seeking from US Army Training and Doctrine Command under a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request. The handbook was the subject of a previous FOIA request filed in April by conservative author Bob McCarty. Last week, McCarty withdrew his request after he was informed a new FOIA exemption created with the passage of the 2012 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) authorizes "critical infrastructure security information" to be withheld unless a requester can justify why the public interest outweighs the withholding of those types of

Afghan is starting to make Vietnam appear like a well-run and organized campaign, which had its share of stupid ROE's but none like this and I don't remember reading much of the ARVN turning on our troops and killing them?
Too bad all the armchair Generals and REMF in the Pentagon are now mostly political animals who would as soon follow the diktats of the hate America and Military Regime than look out for the troops; between them all they can't come up with a pair!

I agree. It is a shame that we think we can impose “freedom” on people who have no desire for it, or the intellectual capacity for it. It just gifts the society to tyrants. And we allow our sons and daughters to die for such an impossible cause?
