On night two of the Republican National Convention, Fox News Channel was once again the network more people went to to get their political fix. That said, every network was down substantially from the same night in 2008, when Sarah Palin made her RNC debut.

No, I’ve read in a few articles that CSPAN ratings are not monitored. So there is no way to tell on how many are tuning in.

I don’t know if I’m representative or not- but this year I’ve switched to C-Span for the first time so I can actually listen to the speeches instead of the pundits. I can hear the pundits anytime- but if I’d been watching any of the cables or networks I would have missed some terrific speakers.

Six networks covered Palin’s speech. Did ABC, CBC or NBC cover? I can’t find which 6.

Found it. All of the majors covered it, so we’re surprised fewer tuned in to Ryan’s? Not.

“An audience of 37.2 million people watched Palin on ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox News Channel and MSNBC”

The trolls are out everywhere here. People think that this in some way is a reflection on the ticket, or the speakers, are just deluded. It’s a reflection of the continued erosion of the networks. I didn’t watch any of the convention four years ago, and didn’t watch anything live this week-—but I will watch Eastwood.

McConell has to be the most boring no emoiotn guy we have and yet he is allowed to go out in front of the cameras .

He,. Rove and yes even Condi just remind me of the old guard.

I would have wanted to see Sarah, Col Allen West speaking, those two alone would get the people going but now we had Pawlenty etc

You are truly a dolt who picks and chooses his Rush quotations. Don't suppose you heard him today spending the entire show CHEERING the Ryan/Rice speeches? Replaying sound bite after sound bite?

You Romney haters seriously need to go to DU.

Maybe we should remind people that MSNBC has been picking and choosing which speakers to cover by the color of their skin.

My local radio station tried a similar tactic. Every time Rush played a cut from the speeches of a Black person, the station cut the internet audio feed, then when the short clip was over, they restored it. When I complained, they cut the audio feed entirely until Rush’s show was over. I had to go back to ordinary radio.

I’m beginning to think FR is now inhabited by bunches of liberals.”

That’s a bit of a broad brush you are using. I chose to watch Leverage, NCIS or CSI:New York instead. Haven’t watched FOX news for months and probably never will again.

I’m glad you enjoyed watching the convention. I did read Ryan’s speech and have adopted a wait and see stance. I would not ever watch or listen to Rice or any number of other speakers they chose. Failing to include people like Gingrich, Bachmann, Palin and Cain further proves IMO that this is not my Republican party.

I am very, very conservative and will vote for Romney but only because electing him will result in Obama being gone.

BTW, the REAL measure of "enthusiasm" will be the drop in the DEM convention from 08 to 12. What do you want to bet that it falls off a cliff since "the One" is no longer holy? Anyone wanna bet that the percent fall from 08 on the Dem side is significantly higher than the GOP side?

But if Eastwood speaks tonight, I have a feeling he'll draw a few viewers.

The Ryan speech was good, but the truth is: half as many people watched him than watched Palin in 2008. And it’s a shame the RINO apologists are pretending it’s no big deal.

Most people are fed up with the radical left wing agenda. But that doesn’t mean they are willing to accept and vote for an ultra conservative agenda- as much as we wish the would. People just want them to get things done for the benefit of the country. I think it’s a smart way to go.

Romney’s acceptance speech tonight will most likely attract 26 million viewers compared to McCain’s 39 million viewers in 2008.

Romney will lose 13 million viewers or 33% of McCain’s audience.

But of course the RINO apologists will try to spin it away tomorrow.

I don’t know if it’s as big a problem as it appears. You Tube, Google etc play a major role in allowing people to live thier life and watch at thier convenience. I haven’t watched one minute of coverage live.

Not to mention watching it on your iphone.

Another advantage is you get to watch the clips you want while avoiding the talking heads lying about what was said or simply talking over the speakers they don't want you to hear.
