In defense of Clint Eastwood: He was weird, but fantastic
Yahoo ^

Go ahead. Vet my day. A fistful of incoherence. High slurs rambler. Every which way and loose.

Clint Eastwood, the 82-year-old movie star and director, inspired what seemed like enthusiasm inside the Republican National Convention's Tampa Bay Times Forum—and disbelief outside it and on Twitter.

I remember when JFK brought Robert Frost on stage. He was older than heck and you hardly understand him; but it was great.

Like you said, the pigs on the left are squealing this morning and why? Because Eastwood made great points, knocked The One, showed that not all of Hollywood is in the Obama tank and that bugs the heck out of the Lefties.

" . . . speaking to "O's" empty seat, telling him to "shut up" "

The only thing missing here was the spitoon placed next to the chair Clint might have availed himself of from time to time. Lawdy, what a gag sight that would have been if he missed the mark, splattering cheroot juice all ove the chair.

It’s sad to see the beloved Rowdy Yates grow old - but he was pretty damn funny! I loved his joke about Biden being the intellectual center of the Democratic Party.

Some find it “painful” to watch because unless you die, you will get old. Your abilities will diminish. It is natural.

However, when an 82 yr. old can make an audience of millions laugh and enjoy the moment, he is to be admired and celebrated. In spite of all the wear and tear, you aren’t seeing an old car, but a classic.

I just commented on another Eastwood thread - -

I experienced outburst after outburst.
Couldn’t wait for the re-run - laughed again.

He said, “In Hollywood, Conservatives don’t go around ‘Hot Doggin’ it.’

‘Biden is the intellect of the Democrat Party!

He was hysterical!

And elderly - so what?
Let the pundits have their day - - hmmm - sounds similar to - - -

Recently saw on TV a shot of Obama from the back, seated in a chair, his head barely showing above a nice chair, (yes, his head looked like an urn . .) with a sign that says “Taken.”
Really don’t know if it’s real or not.

Re: Bender, you are delightfully twisted...

That what they kept telling me out in Hollywood 30-40 years ago when they passed on my acting and screenwriting... and nowadays I figure it is just their loss--

I tell you, Darryl... you need to look at this Bender kid--

Naw, Frank, there is only room for one crazy genius in Hollywood... and that is me!

Thanks for the on site view. I heard him over the ABC radio feed on WMAL. Didn’t know about the teleprompter problem but Clint spoke loud and clear with a steady voice when speaking of our country. The scathing comedic piece was clearly done as a character. I heard it as harking back to Jimmy Stewart talking to the imaginary six foot rabbit Harvey in the movie by the same name, but that’s me. Overall the radio broadcast conveyed it well. Could have done without the real geezer, Sam Donaldson talking over Clint so much. I look forward to catching the youtube version w/o the commentary.

Clinton out Alinskied the Alinsky-ites, fixing the empty chair as obama and then ridiculing him. Effective? Judging from the WH tweet response of the chair photo and comment, yeah it stung Barry. And of course, baby cakes Barry had nothing to do with finding the photo file and responding on twitter.

I wish Clint walked out the The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly theme, which would have made his gig even more memorable.

He could have synced that with our ticket (The Good), the demonrat ticket (The Bad), and Moochelle (The Ugly).

Each to his own, I guess. I thought it was great. Spontaneous, witty, genuine, funny, entertaining, with some very profound statements thrown in for good measure.

But then I didn’t particularly care for Ryan’s speech. I thought it sounded pretty well like every other political speech I’ve heard, so maybe it’s just me.

It’s not really my place to comment on United States politics, but I must say that I extremely dislike your President, and I hope that Americans who revere Clint Eastwood as much as many of us do from other countries listen to him and pay him the great respect that he deserves. Mr. Eastwood represents everything that is wonderful about America and we love him dearly.

Eastwood was more coherent than hollyweirders half his age

maybe great liberal intellects like Samuel L Jackson, Matt Damon, Michael Moore, Sean Penn and Rosie will speak at the DNC
