‘Fed Up’ Gingrich Calls Out Media Refusal to Focus on Extremism in Democratic Platform
News Busters ^ | 9-2-12 | Brent Baker

Posted on 09/02/2012 9:06:52 PM PDT by cdchik123

“I’m frankly, fed up, with the one-sided bias,” a frustrated Newt Gingrich asserted on Sunday’s Meet the Press, citing two blatant examples. First: “Where is the outrage over overt, deliberate racism” in Vice President Joe Biden telling a black audience “if the Republicans win you will be ‘in chains’”?

Second, President Obama “voted three times to protect the right of doctors to kill babies who came out of abortion still alive. That plank says tax-paid abortion at any moment, meaning partial birth abortion -- that’s a 20 percent issue,” a position which Democrats “couldn’t defend...for a day if it was made clear and as vivid as all the effort is made to paint Republicans.”

Gingrich charged: “If the news media spent as much time on the extremism of the Democrats as they spend trying to attack us, they would not be able to adopt that plank this week.” Another guest panelist, New York Times columnist Tom Friedman, declared “I’m a Planned Parenthood Democrat on the issue of choice,” but when Gingrich challenged him to defend the Democratic Party platform support for taxpayer funding of late-term and partial-birth abortion, Friedman called it “a defensible position,” then suddenly decided “I’m here as a journalist, I’ll let the Democratic Party defend it.”

Seconds earlier during the roundtable, NBC News eminence Tom Brokaw maintained Republican opposition to abortion is antithetical to full rights for women. “I think this is the century of women,” he asserted before fretting “there is even among some Republican women out there” the view that the “party doesn’t quite buy into that yet.” He contended “the social issues are very important to women. It’s their bodies, their lives, they feel that it’s not entirely embraced by the Republican Party. That’s my own judgment.”

Is Gingroach gonna have even stronger values with his next wife?

He has more values than you have abilities to make relevant statements.

I totally disagree. There is no such right of taking someone else’s life.

Can a woman get an abortion legally in America today?

Dream for a moment and picture him as White House Press Secretary next term. I know it would be beneath him but wouldn’t he be stellar in that capacity? :)

“legal” and right are two very different things.

You don’t know conservatism from liberalism - and your comment just proved it. You are type that should be barred from voting. You can’t even stay focused on what the article is about! America is being destroyed because of such ignorance - consider yourself responsible.

Exactly. The Democrats support of abortion and contraception is just like a man saying, “Hey baby, you gotta give me what I want. It will be alright and if it doesn’t work out, there is still a way around the problems.” I can’t believe for the life of me why women don’t stand up and say you’re not putting that thing in me, I am not putting those chemicals in myself, and I am sure as hell not putting a vaccum or a knife in MY body.” Women, in the guise of freedom, gave themselves over to slavery some 40 to 50 years ago. The women’s movement basically made the decision that says, ‘Hey baby, YOU can do whatever you want with MY body and so have all the fun you want.

They won’t do it though because they are afraid

Exactly. FEAR - is the enemy of the USA and PATRIOTS are fearless. The USA was too good to too many and they are fearful of losing it; so they cowardly bunker down to allow every evil on America. Not so with Patriot Newt.

You are playing games, now.

Roe v. Wade - highest law in the land, at least for now, but you know that. Why do you want to waste time arguing over settled law?

Want to change it? Vote for people who will be able to overturn it, though that rarely happens.

What? Playing games? What part of killing the defenseless is OK to your settled mindset? Same sex marriage has been deemed law in MA - is that OK by you?

It’s mindsets like yours who roll over and accept evil while criticizing others who STAND firmly against it! And why? To save your butt, also, from the curse all this evil brings to America.

If you can’t STAND for what is right for America - get out of the way of those who do!

Yes, I don't like Newt Gingrich. I DID meet the man once, and he seemed nice. However, in the recent past he's trashed the Ryan Budget (called it Right Wing Social Engineering),he worked with Freddie Mac, his coziness with Nancy Pelosi

He savagely attacked Romney's work at Bain Capital, and finally he caved in to probabe rapist Bill clinton time and time again during the 1995 budget debate.

You can call me anything you want. As the Conservatie White Sheep in an extended family of Leftist Regressives, my neo-Marxist would beg to differ with your argument that I'm not a Conservative.

No, this is America, our rights come from God, who said "Thou shalt not commit murder"...

NOT the Supreme Court.

To the men who have a hard time grasping this, imagine this scenario:

You’ve been thrown in jail. (Don’t say that couldn’t happen because you are a law-abiding citizen. Remember who is still “ruling” America.) Now imagine a cell-mate who is much, much bigger than you and is leering at you.

Uncomfortable yet?

How long do you think you can keep him away?

How do you think tiny women feel?

Do you think a woman should have to live in a state of terror and carry a gun 24/7? Only when she is outside of her own home?

I have a friend with knife scars on her face. From being attacked in her own home with the doors locked.

thank you for posting this. One doesn’t want to dwell on victimhood, but it does get tiresome when men just don’t get, refuse to get, what it’s like to be prey to predators. And you are right - one can’t go around armed at every moment - we’re living in cities and suburbs, not riding the range.
