Neither party is honorable and honest.

Well, guess that is close to being correct.

But as bad as the GOPe is, there is NO COMPARISON of the 2 parties. Do we need a 3rd Party, unanswerable question at this point. That decision will soon have to be made, but not before November. What we really need is a strong, honest, 1st American party.

Unless God himself is one the ballot, any election is always the choice between two persons, and since “none is righteous”, elections are always about choosing the lesser of 2 evils.

I have long opposed voice votes--their outcome tends to be highly subjective; and they are designed to keep specific individuals off the record--but this one was especially egregious.

I am uncertain if there was even a bare majority in favor of revision--on that point, it was really quite close, I think--but I am certain that there was not a two-thirds supermajority in favor of revision...

And Hussein’s acting all naive, as if he didn’t know the words hadn’t been removed in the first place. We know the changes were made at his command. Guess he figured nobody would notice and, if they did, the issue wouldn’t be addressed. Then he tries to fix stuff by telling the Platform Committee to put the words back. What a turd.

“My question is regarding the photo.”

On another thread I read that the photo was taken by an attendee on his cell phone and then forwarded to Fox News. Looks like a cell picture, so it’s probably real. You know he was reading a script; each time he took the vote he repeated it verbatim — and everything is scripted at these events.

Some people choose voting for a lesser evil over a more evil, over Faith.

Well, that sure as heck isn't Barack Hussein Obama. That man is EVIL!!!

That really sounded to me like it passed on all three votes. It’s not the volume, but the number of voices. The ayes had it.

How can you tell that? By not being there you could not discern the direction of voices.

The audio is mono. Saw nothing to indicate dimensional sound.

I thought the vote was a scam...

Parliamentary procedure allows for voice votes, and they are fine if the question is clearly lopsided:—it saves a lot of time. In a case where the vote is closer, the chair is supposed to rule one way or the other, and then anybody who is unhappy with the ruling can call for a division of the house.

That means, count the hands. Of course, that will never happen in a national party convention. Certainly not at this one.

Visiting the Jefferson Memorial was a life affirming event for me.

Reading the words on the walls there led me to discover a significantly different Jefferson than the one typically presented by both atheists and preachers.

“I HAVE SWORN UPON THE ALTAR OF GOD ETERNAL HOSTILITY TO EVERY FORM OF TYRANNY OVER THE MIND OF MAN”

The Virginia Act for Religious Freedom — a key understanding the intent implicit within the 1st Amendment.

It strikes me that this whole DNC convention vote fiasco is very similar to the Florida vote in 2000.

The Dems in FL wanted to keep counting the votes until they got the result they wanted. At the convention they kept having voice votes to try to get the desired result.

After several independent agencies finished counting votes in FL, it was determined that Bush had won a close election. That, however, did not stop Dems from pretending that Gore had really won and calling Bush “President Select” (among other names). At the convention, despite the obvious closeness of the vote, Villaragosa pretended that there were 2/3 of the delegates voting in favor.

Even after all the votes were counted and recounted in FL and Bush was determined to have won, Dems went right on asserting that Gore was the real winner. Wasserman-Schultz and others are now insisting that it was clear cut that 2/3 of those delegates voted in the affirmative.

Thank God the Dems weren’t in total control in FL in 2000 the way they are at their convention. We might well have had 8 years of an Al Gore presidency plus another 4 of Obama to dig our way out of if they had.

That vote that was taken three times and lost but was STILL declared a vote to put references of God back into the platform is more than just symbolically significant, It was God’s sign that the Dems have denied him thrice. It gave me the chills. I think God just may be in the process of answering our prayers and will come to give America back to the righteous and cart off the others screaming into Hell.
