“When they come for my gun, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands,” is a common refrain I often hear from the Neo-Cons when there is a threat that the US government is going to take their firearms.
And, when I hear this crazy talk, I agree with them openly. “You are right. They will pry your gun from your cold dead hands,” which I often follow with the question, “And where will that leave you except face down in a pool of your own blood the middle of the street, just another dead fool resisting the State?”

That quote is silly, considering Germany didn’t want to invade Britain, let alone enslave its population. It was a lie, since Churchill never had any inclination to fight alone but rather planned on being bailed out by the US again. It also looks arbitrary in hindsight, since he gave up resistence when it was Russia conquering people instead of Germany.

I was in a Marine rifle company once upon a time. We had the task of being aggressors and assaulting a defensive position held by US Navy ROTC college students out for a weekend if training.
After it was over, we all gathered for a debrief. One female cadet insisted that she would have wiped us out. Her logic was, “i saw guys there”, and “others over there”, and “i saw those guys in that machine gun position”, etc. If she saw us, she believed that was the same as “killing” us.
I hope she never had to learn that it ain’t as easy in real life as a armchair tactician makes it sound. Facing real people, in real fights always SOUNDS so easy. Why, just roll a tank in and make some demands!

3. If possession of some firearms were outlawed, those firearms would be sought from one small group at a time, which group would first be defamed in the media as being full of undesirables (like so many social engineering efforts so far).

I live in the North Georgia mountains. If the Georgia National Guard and local police forces were commanded to go door to door and collect weapons the commanding officers would get told to go F-— themselves.
I know several local, county, and state troopers and we have talked about this. Their colleagues and them have talked about this. The answer will be NO. They will not do it because they know what will happen.
All have them have told me they will side with the citizens.
People who write these articles and people who republish these articles are far from reality and should seek mental help.

I have worked with LEOs for over 25 years, my siblings are LEOs. NO money, no pension——no law enforcement. Period.
Don't get me started on things in my garage and work shop. Or under the kitchen sink. Come to my house and take my guns. I'll show where they are. Sleep lightly.
Doubtful that Mr. Karger’s scenario would happen anytime soon, BTW. Firearms are too popular, even with Democrats.
It has already started with the latest mandate penned by who is an empty chair, that veterans will be “appraised” for mental health care, of which at the stroke of a pen in a check box require all guns to be immediately confiscated.
First the veterans, then the militia, then the gun clubs and shooting ranges.
They will do it quietly and under cover, even to the point of having armed Girl Scouts going door to door.
