I’m not voting for Romney and this is just another reason not to.

The other week his speech about energy independence spoke of “North American energy independence” which means he sees the US, Canada and Mexico as one economy like the European Union.

The old Bush RINO North American Union plan, in other words.

A great device to break down borders and flood the US with cheap labor from the South. Business money behind Romney loves that idea.

Ryan speaks of “opportunity” with a “safety net.”

Ryan denounces Obama for a “welfare state” yet wants to keep it in place as a “safety net.” Entitlements and the 16 trillion dollar debt they feed remain.

Ryan’s plan to balance the budget 10 years plus out is not a conservative solution, its just a delaying tactic until the debt bubble bursts and politicians impose Greek style austerity measures on us.

They will raise taxes and cut entitlements at the same time.

There is no desire by the RINO GOP to cut entitlement programs at all.

The people are bolts.
We will be handgun torqued or airgun torqued -

we are still torqued.

Keep running your mouth Romney. Victory should be a cakewalk and this guy going to blow it.

“The guy thinks like a manager, but not from first principles.” Well said. That’s it exactly.

Yeah that's the ticket, been hearing that ever since the promise of a push back by Republicans concerning the Great Society programs. “Too big to fail or too big of a program that overturning the legislation is politically impossible.” When you win you lose with Republicans. The jig is up as debt and liabilities are becoming hard to control; we do not need political wimps at the head, while the fire breathers are well under control by the top pragmatics and K street pimps.

No I don’t like it but go ahead and tell people they will lose those benefits and see if you can win the election.

This is true across the spectrum, no one is willing to tell people we are going to cut anything.

I'm still voting for him, but damn!

Amen!

OPEN MOUTH....INSERT FOOT, U MORON!!!

Can't this idjit just STFU about this (and other issues us Cons are NOT in favor of) for the next 7 weeks or so?

It is difficult enough for us to hold our noses and vote for you without rubbing salt in the wounds

Quit pandering to the "undecided" and so called "Independents."

I swear to God, if this RINO is elected (the SAME as it was with Bush, thanks to John Kerry being his Demo-Rat opponent) it will be ONLY because of who (Dear Reader) he is running against.

If ANYONE else but Kerry had opposed W, they would have beat him easily!!!

“nobody will insure if pre-existing conditions must be paid for.”

I don’t know... This is a problem area. As things go now, if your wife gets, say breast cancer at 35 and beats it, she is basically uninsureable for the rest of her life. That puts her in a real tough spot... Perhaps rules could be written that would keep people from gaming the system and still allow her to get insurance.

For instance, If she is insured at the time of her initial diagnosis and covered for the breast cancer, then the insurance industry can’t consider it a preexisting condition for future policies.

Just a thought...

I need to clarify my post.

The politicians will “cut” programs by 5 or 10 percent in austerity mode when the Greek time for this country comes, but will not cut completely the welfare state system we now have in place.

They need to do the latter, but not the former.

The Ryan plan to “balance the budget” ten years plus kicks the can down the road giving time for the calamity to reach us, then we get the tax hikes and spending cuts of austerity.

Not sure how trustworthy it is. From Wiki: The Statesman endorsed George W. Bush in the 2000 and 2004 presidential elections[5], and Republican governor Rick Perry along with every other Republican incumbent in 2006.[citation needed] In the 2008 presidential election, however, the paper endorsed Barack Obama.

The article's wording did not seem right - why would Romney undo what he has been trying to accomplish? I wonder if the paper is endorsing Obama again...

...things that I like in health care reform that I'm going to put in place...One is to make sure that those with pre-existing conditions can get coverage

Sigh. Coverage of pre-existing conditions is perhaps the worst part of Obamacare. That's not insurance anymore, it's welfare.

This is depressing. I’ve just made up my mind that I’m not going to vote in the presidential election and just vote for as many conservatives on the local and national level as possible. My state is deeply blue anyway so it doesn’t matter.

Romney may be dumb enough to lose this election. Now, as he continues his lunge to the Left, he loses more of his small conservative base. His expectation seems to be to get some Democrats and Weak Indepants. It is more likely that the Democrats will return to form and vote for their greedy all pay and no work party. The muddled Independents will vote for who has the best hair or tan or however the TV tells them to vote.
I wonder if this policy reversal will give Mr. Romney a jump in the polls. We should know in a few days. I will get a kick out of listening to Rush and Hannity defend Obamacare under a fig leaf of Romneycare.
If Romney wins, we, the people, will get Obamacare with a different name, an untra Liberal social agenda, extremely Liberal appointments to the Supreme Court, strong anti gun legislation, and, last, but not least, much higher taxes except for some of his cronies.

“This is true across the spectrum, no one is willing to tell people we are going to cut anything.”

And when in power proceed to expand programs rather than cut the programs you were trying to conceal in order to get elected. Republicans are not playing “poker” with the central planners, they are playing poker with gullible fools who read into their “conservatism” while admiring strategic elements to conceal their “planned cuts”, lol.
