President Barack Obama, picking up support following the Democratic National Convention, widened his narrow lead over Republican U.S. presidential challenger Mitt Romney in a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released on Saturday.

The latest daily tracking poll showed Obama, a Democrat, with a lead of 4 percentage points over Romney. Forty-seven percent of 1,457 likely voters surveyed online over the previous four days said they would vote for Obama if the November 6 elections were held today, compared with 43 percent for Romney.

“The bump is actually happening. I know there was some debate whether it would happen… but it’s here,” said Ipsos pollster Julia Clark, referring to the “bounce” in support that many presidential candidates enjoy after nominating conventions.

Obama had leapfrogged Romney in the daily tracking poll on Friday with a lead of 46 percent to 44 percent.

The president’s lead comes despite a mixed reaction to his convention speech on Thursday night in Charlotte, North Carolina, and Friday’s government data showing that jobs growth slowed sharply last month. [Read more from this story HERE].

48% Give Obama Good or Excellent Marks

By Rasmussen Reports. President Obama continues to earn positive marks for leadership from nearly half the nation’s voters, but there’s a wide partisan difference of opinion on this question.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 48% of Likely U.S. Voters rate the president’s leadership as good or excellent. [Read more from this story HERE].

Reuters/Ipsos is an online poll.

Worse than useless.

Even IF this ‘poll’ were accurate, I think the deciding factor will be the debates between 0bama and Romney. Say what you will about Romney, he is going to beat 0bama’s ass like a rented mule, and the election will turn on that event.

Relax. Reuters is like Gallup, AP and CBS - a total Leftist news organ.

The ONLY poll worth watching is Rsamussen and it indicates as small a bounce as Romney got.

Net result - nada to both parties. They are still dead even.

Wait for the debates, keep working for Romney and PRAY.

PRAY VERY HARD - like you NEVER prayed before.

Americans have moved so far into left field that even the republicans of today are the equivalent of yesterday's moderate Dem's. I am wondering if the bounce was due to the Dem's convention? unbelievable that so many would approve of Obama’s leadership. The man is a full blown communist..is that what our country is coming to?

and forget the polls...B.Hussein O. has the media in his pocket, they report what they are told to report...their orders come direct from the White House with talking points daily...never trust the MEDIA

sad world we are living in...

To paraphrase the late Bernard Epton of Chicago, I hope Romney and Ryan wake up “before it’s too late.”

Romney can “win” each debate but still be judged the “loser” by the media and the American people.

What is more frightening, Obama getting another four years or a nation with 48% of the voters believing he is doing a good job? The Democrat main objective of dumbing down and parasite creation is almost complete.

RE: How in the wide world of sports can this communist garner anything over 25 points?

We really over estimate the American People’s wisdom...

In the first place, most Americans DON’T believe Obama is a Marxist or has Marxist sympathies...
