AND NOW . . . amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke. . . it is time for . . . that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-the-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and hes not retiring until every American agrees with him, do NOT doubt him, with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (thats Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! FYI: Rush is in Michigan (South Lyon) today for a golf tournament to benefit wounded soldiers and their families. It sounds like he WILL be doing his show live, though. :)
From the 19th hole???
Biden was to speak here in PA at the Flight 93 memorial.
I hope he didn’t screw anything up.
Thanks...yes..haha...’FWIW’....Snopes like to mislead and parse too......
Thanks for the Ping, IMPR. I’m still filled with anger and sadness after 11yrs.
Clinton got the exact same briefing Bush did on Bin Laden.
That _______, rhymes with sucker, Richard Clarke ignored it too.
Wait a minute...it says it’s false, but goes on to say it’s already used in some states and overseas.

one of the many steps needed; bounce
"The Won Once" out of the Oval Office
and defeat all vulnerable Liberals /
Last week I was flipping through radio stations in the car and my 6 year old son said,”Let’s listen to Rush!”. Sadly, it was half an hour before the program started.
You know Snopes is liberal, of course.
The race was even among likelies in CNN’s poll after the GOP convention, so here’s further confirmation that O has indeed gotten a bounce. (Of particular note, his favorable rating rose to 57 percent, his highest in two years.) Three major caveats, though. One: While there’s a nice bounce among likely voters, there’s virtually no bounce among registereds. Last week O led Romney by seven points among that group; this week he leads by eight. Obviously the composition of CNN’s sample of likely voters has changed, although because they never publish their partisan splits, there’s no way to tell by how much exactly.
Speaking of which, number two: Romney trails overall by six points while leading among independents … by 14?

The only way to make those numbers make sense is if the sample of likely voters skews sharply Democratic, which seems improbable, and if the sample of independents here is minuscule. That wouldn’t be unusual for CNN, if so: Just like last week, it looks like they’re pressing hard to get self-identified indies to identify themselves as leaners one way or the other and then reserving the indie column for the few remaining “true independents.” With a small enough sample, Romney could theoretically lead O by 50 points among this group and still trail overall.
Three: There sure does seem to be a pronounced age split in this poll:

That’s right in line with conventional wisdom — O leads big among younger voters, Romney leads among older — but note that it’s not young adult who are really driving Obama’s advantage here. It’s the middle-aged, ages 35 to 49, that are decisive to his overall margin. Not sure how to explain that dramatic effect. It’s always tempting to resort to Medicare politics to account for sharp age disparities but it’s not obvious to me why near-seniors would be fairly evenly split while slightly younger voters would tilt sharply. Maybe the Democrats’ culture-war convention played well with them? But middle-aged adults tend to be pro-life on balance. Hmmm.
Lots of oddness to O’s bounciness, then — although, bearing that in mind, I still don’t like the look of this trend, especially in light of the last post:

This one strikes me as bad too, although there’s nothing surprising about it:

Romney’s been banking since day one on winning an “Obama vs. Not Obama” election, but it’s easier to imagine a race like that ending in a semi-landslide for the challenger than in a narrow victory, which increasingly appears to be Mitt’s best-case scenario. The “Not Obama” voters in Mitt’s column will be out in force no matter what, whereas O’s support among pro-Obama voters depends, I think, to some extent on how the polls look down the stretch. If it’s close, he has a stronger pitch to “unlikely voters” who like him to haul their asses down to the polling place on election day and put him over the top then he does if the race looks like a lost cause circa mid-October. But then, this is really just another way of saying that Romney needs to do more to make the pro-Romney case among undecideds rather than just the anti-Obama case, which is already as clear cut as can be. That’s what the convention was supposed to be about, and per the trendlines here, evidently it did some good. Enough good, though?

We went to see “2016” two weekends ago. It was OK, not much new but it put it all in order for us. We did get to see a Libtard walk out but her boyfriend stayed and she made a scene. LOL! He eventually left too.
And just the other day, as previously noted in this space, there was NBC's Chris Matthews attacking the middle class with this play of the race card:
"[T]hey keep saying Chicago, by the way. Have you noticed? That sends that message: This guy's helping the poor people in the bad neighborhoods and screwing us in the 'burbs."
Screwing who in the 'burbs?
That's right. Matthews means the middle class. He is saying the American middle class is racist.
Has there been an electoral backlash to all of this constant assault by liberals on the values of middle class Americans?
Are you kidding?
By 1968 the reaction by middle class Americans to this constant assault by the political and cultural left was already evident. Suffice to say, the middle class was both horrified and furious. And the instant place to register middle class fury was at the ballot box.
The assault on middle class values made Richard Nixon president, not Democrat Hubert Humphrey.
Here's Ronald Reagan as a candidate for governor of California delivering a blistering attack on the law-breaking anti-middle class crowd at the University of California at Berkeley. This particular assault at Berkeley on middle class values made Reagan governor -- and launched him eventually into the White House.
The attack on the American middle class brought to life what was called in Nixon's day the "Silent Majority" (or as ex-Nixon aide Kevin Phillips wrote it up in book form The Emerging Republican Majority. Around the same time, Richard Scammon and Ben Wattenberg, the first an ex-Director of the U.S. Census Bureau for JFK, the second an aide to LBJ, wrote The Real Majority: An Extraordinary Examination of the American Electorate.
What was discovered and measured in the Scammon/Wattenberg book was the precise fashion in which what might be called the middle class revolt was taking place. The numbers, the how and why and where of it all.
What relevance does all of this have to the next two-months of the 2012 election?
Plenty.
Every time you hear Barack Obama or Joe Biden or Bill Clinton sing the praises of the middle class it's because they are scared witless there are millions of that American middle class who are long on to the Democrats' game.
Americans who understand in detail that when God is booted from the Democrats' platform it is not just an attack on God.
It is yet another liberal attack in a five decades-long liberal war on the values of an American middle class that believes in God, country, and capitalism.
A war on the very people, in Rush Limbaugh's words, "who make this country work."

The original national CNN data, 709 Likely Voters for September 07-09, 2012:
The derived poll data presented below for the same national CNN, Likely Voters, n = 709
Rounding the below by plus or minus (0.49%) yields above published (rounded) CNN two digit poll data.
Looks as if CNN/ORC have published a Democrat [ +10.26%] Likely Voter oversampled poll. Just for fun, at the far right of the spreadsheet data is a "what-if" the political ID breakdown was (35%R, 35%D, 30%I) - Romney on top by ~4%.

There was plenty to dislike in Obama's speech. The language was flat, his delivery languid. The speech was stuffed with standard Obama chestnuts about the smallness of politics, the corrupting influence of money in politics, and how cynicism is our worst enemy.
Instead of stirring rhetoric filled with hope and promise, Obama pledged that under his leadership, "our path is harder" and "our road is longer."
Seriously? After four years of the worst economic recovery since the Depression, falling incomes, lower-paying jobs, increased hopelessness and exploding debt, all Obama has to offer is that he'll make this nightmare last even longer?
He also told the public that they "elected me to tell you the truth" not to "tell you what you wanted to hear," but then proceeded to hide inconvenient truths while filling the public's ears with sweet nothings.
For example, he pledged government help for everyone who could possibly want or need it, but managed to avoid any mention of the hard truth that the national debt just topped $16 trillion and entitlements are unsustainable.
He said he'd spend money saved from ending the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan on roads, bridges and schools. Even the liberal press wasn't buying this one. As the AP pointed out, Obama "laid claim to a peace dividend that doesn't exist."
Obama promised to "take responsible steps" that would "keep the promise of Social Security." But he failed to mention that the only options he's left on the table are raising taxes or cutting benefits. That may not be what people want to hear, but it's the absolute truth.
He trotted out his supposed plan to cut deficits by $4 trillion over the next decade. But his actual plan — the budget he presented in February — would add $3.5 trillion in deficits, according to the Congressional Budget Office.
Then Obama said he'd create a million new manufacturing jobs, recruit another 100,000 math and science teachers, cut tuition growth in half, and reform the tax code. All by magic, apparently, since he's provided no detailed plans on any of this.
But while everyone was picking apart these and other flaws in Obama's speech, they overlooked the most frightening line of all. That was when Obama promised that he'd pursue "the kind of bold, persistent experimentation that Franklin Roosevelt pursued during the only crisis worse than this one."
Did you know prior to the movie that Obama Sr. married another American woman in New England after he divorced/left Stanley Dunham? That was the only biographical news to me.
No I didn’t know that before the movie and actually there was quite a bit more about Sr. I didn’t know as well.
So you did see the movie or did you read the book?
Very well done presentation.
Shocking. Not.
A Tale Of Two Tweets On 9/11 *UPDATE
http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2012/09/11/A-Tale-Of-Two-Tweets-On-911
I saw the movie.
I dragged BF to it last month and he ended up enjoying it. Afterwards, that same evening, I read a post here by another Freeper (whom I did not know) who said he had watched it in the same small Western PA town. Turns out he was in the same theater we were for the same showing!
Good for you! Your influence on BF is impressive. Has he changed his mind on 0bama now?
We went to an afternoon showing and it wasn’t crowed but it wasn’t empty either. It was in their biggest theatre where they normally show the most popular movies so it must have had pretty good attendance at some point which is saying something for The People’s Republic of Bethesda, Monkey County Merryland...
BF is still a registered Dim but he was always anti-Obama. I do have him listening to talk radio religiously, though.
The other day, we were in the car and he was frustratedly tuning the radio dial. “Why isn’t Rush on?” he asked.
“Because it’s Sunday,” I replied.
Way cool! You need to get him to listen to Chris Plante now if he’s technologically savvy enough. I’m becoming moderately optimistic PA may finally embrace its “bitter clinger” standing in the world.
Oh, gosh; break out the violins.
His job is too hard? I guess playing golf all the time, running from fundraiser to fundraiser, cleaning up after Crazy Joe’s mistakes, etc. is so tiring . . .
RUSH!
JACK RYAN was Obama’s Opponent for the Illinois Senate Seat!!!! The guy that he forced open the sealed documents!!!
Rush, Jack Ryan was the Republican Obama was first going to run against in Illinois for his Senate seat, before Axelrod’s team had his divorce records unsealed and forced him to pull out of the race.

Thanks Lady. People like you probably caused us to lose.

You can say the same about some around here.
ya know, I was watching Gov. Romney speaking a few minutes ago and was thinking how wonderful it would be if I could watch him do this when he is elected president. I might actually be able to sleep at night, enjoy my grandchildren, and get some rest. It was a wonderful thought.
