For all his dissembling years in the Clinton White House and his constant willing sabotage thereafter, he is the one I'd like to see imprisoned.

Will be interesting when he proves his innocence in discovery by obtaining a transcript of O’Bummers discussions with Hollywood and interrogatories with the attendees.

"I think we have to take steps to make clear to him and to the American people that we're not going to accept this kind of behavior"

I also think it's clear, that YOU and the rest of the Communist bastards in the government today need to be put on Trial for Treason, and then summarily found Guilty, and Hanged in the Public Square, you asshole.

Michael F. Scheuer (born 1952) is a former CIA intelligence officer, American blogger, historian, foreign policy critic, and political analyst. He is currently an adjunct professor at Georgetown University's Center for Peace and Security Studies and an Expert at Wikistrat. In his 22-year career, he served as the Chief of the Bin Laden Issue Station (aka "Alec Station"), from 1996 to 1999, the Osama bin Laden tracking unit at the Counterterrorist Center. He then worked again as Special Advisor to the Chief of the bin Laden unit from September 2001 to November 2004.

Scheuer became a public figure after being outed as the anonymous author of the 2004 book Imperial Hubris, in which he criticized many of the United States' assumptions about Islamist insurgencies and particularly Osama bin Laden. He depicts bin Laden as a rational actor who is fighting to weaken the United States by weakening its economy, rather than merely combating and killing Americans. He challenges the common assumption that terrorism is the threat that the United States is facing in the modern era, arguing rather that Islamist insurgency (and not "terrorism") is the core of the conflict between the U.S. and Islamist forces, who in places such as Kashmir, Xinjiang, and Chechnya are "struggling not just for independence but against institutionalized barbarism." Osama bin Laden acknowledged the book in a 2007 statement, suggesting that it revealed "the reasons for your losing the war against us".

The MSM and the Dems loved Imperial Hubris because it attacked Bush during an election year. But the Bush administration did not demand legal action against the author who was on the payroll.

I’m reading the book now. It’s very very good about 1/3 thru. Nothing in it thus far even hints at compromising our intelligence, unlike the WH giving Hollywood debriefings regarding Bin Laden raid. This is your garden variety Green Beret war story book...

Retired CIA officer Miles Seeley writes: “I have been stunned by the reviews of Imperial Hubris that indicate the author is still on active duty in the CIA, and that the CIA vetted the book. Either the Agency has changed dramatically since I was in it, or something is wrong about the whole story, especially the part that has the Agency clearing a book that is relentlessly anti-Administration. That makes it a political book, and that was absolutely forbidden in all the history of the Agency. No employee would be allowed to publish such a book, and the Agency would never have cleared it. It was a given that the CIA had to remain non-political or it would never be able to gather, analyze, and send out impartial intelligence. So I think something smells here, but I am not sure what”. RH: It is indeed extraordinary. There is much ill will between the CIA and the administration, so it is just possible that the CIA is getting its own back.

Panetta replied, "I think we have to take steps to make clear to him and to the American people that we're not going to accept this kind of behavior."

What he meant was, "We also don't give a Royal Crap about the First Amendment to the Constitution". What a Hack !! What a Moron !! What a political Shill !!

When government officials start suggesting something smacking of censorship, it’s time to get & read the book.

Modern technology is awesome.

Streisand Effect: when someone tries to suppress something and the opposite occurs. The act of suppressing it raises the profile, making it much more well known than it ever would have been.

Won’t happen. To punish a retired sailor he would for have to be recalled involuntarily to active duty and then given a general court martial. The firestorm that would create would result in the end of Obama whether he’s reelected or not. It would take another Carter to then issue a pardon and have his court martial record expunged. After all, Carter did it for Kerry after Kerry’s letter of punitive reprimand.

Opening page:
I've taken great pains to protect the tactics, techniques, and procedures used by the teams as they wage a daily battle against terrorists and insurgents around the world. I you are looking for secrets, this is not your book. ... I hired a former Special Operations attorney to review the manuscript to ensure that it was free from mention of forbidden topics and that it cannot be used by sophisticated enemies as a source of sensitive information to compromise or harm the United States.
So...what exactly is the problem?

If they were going to do it, it would already be done.

They are afraid of opening this can of worms, for good reason.

Question? It sounds as if Panetta thinks he is the voice and desires of the USA people. I think not. It shows how ego maniacs think they can speak for all people. Panetta and his boss’s cronies are besides themselves that people have a feeling of/for self informing. It is not the usual course for a politician especially the devious ones.
